The HOLY GRAIL WAR Meme

Seven Masters, magi of the present day. Seven Servants, heroes of days past.One Holy Grail, granting whomever claims it a wish. Only one team of Master and Servant may claim it.
Who will it be?
For those unfamiliar with Fate/Stay Night or Fate/Zero, you can find a better explanation of the Holy Grail War here. (Note: The Holy Grail War in Fate/EXTRA functions in a dramatically different way, and one not followed for purposes of this meme.)

Instructions
1. Comment with your character. In the subject line, put that character's name, canon, and which role (Master, Servant, or either) you would like them to fulfill. Though not mandatory, it would be preferred that you give a brief summary of your character as they will (most likely) be AU'd into the setting. (NOTE: If your character can fill the role of Servant, I suggest you state which class(es) -- Saber, Lancer, Archer, Rider, Caster, Assassin, or Berserker -- they fall into.)
2. Reply to others' comments. Pick your character's role (and the other character's if they list "Either" as their preference), then use the RNG to pick a scenario that fits the two characters' roles.
3. Enjoy! Though there might be triggers, depending on how the prompts are interpreted.

TWO MASTERS

1. Battle. Who says that Servants get to have all the fun? After all, most Masters try to kill each other, too. Whatever the circumstances, the two of you are locked in a fight. Neither of you are willing to use your Command Spells just yet, so no Servants here. Just two magi duking it out.

2. Alliance. There's a bigger threat out there. Either one Servant is exceptionally powerful, or the situation has changed and the participants need to take action aginst it. One way or another, you're teamed up with one of your rivals for the Holy Grail. How long will this last before you try to stab each other in the back? Or, will something more develop?

3. Protection. Uh-oh! One of you has lost your Servant! Unfortunately, there's no way you'd get to the church safely on your own, so the other one will help you get there! Or maybe you don't trust the priest presiding over the Holy Grail War and are giving shelter to them yourself? Given their track record, no one would blame you.

4. Death. One or both of you lay dying. It might have been by the other's hand, or by someone else's entirely. How will you spend your last moments in the presence of one of your rivals?

5. You, Too? Surprise! You may have been friends before, but you've just discovered that you're both Masters! How will you handle this revelation?

6. Wild Card. Roll again, pick one of the previous options, or make one up!

MASTER AND SERVANT

1. Are You My Master? The summoning is complete. Whether intentional or not, catalyst or not, a magus has summoned a Servant. What kind of meeting was it? Was everything totally under control, or did a hitch occur? Or maybe it happened in the middle of a life-or-death situation!

2. Identity. Either the Servant has flat out told the Master their identity, or they unleashed their Noble Phantasm. Either way, the cat is out of the bag. How will the Master react, now that they know their Servant's name and legend? Will anything change between the two?

3. Battle Aftermath. A battle has just ended. Who participated? Are either of you hurt? Did the Master have to use a Command Spell? Any number of things could have happened here.

4. Discord. Uh-oh. It looks like the Master and the Servant don't get along. Here come the arguments! Don't do something stupid, like waste a Command Spell over a triviality...

5. Love. And then, there's the opposite. Sometimes Masters and Servants fall in love with each other. How will this affect things?

6. Wild Card. Roll again, pick one of the previous options, or make one up!

TWO SERVANTS

1. Battle. This is what usually happens when two Servants meet -- they duke it out. This probably says enough as it is.

2. Alliance. There's a bigger threat out there. Either one Servant is exceptionally powerful, or the situation has changed and the participants need to take action aginst it. One way or another, you're teamed up with one of your rivals for the Holy Grail. How long will this last before you try to stab each other in the back? Or, will something more develop?

3. The Grail Dialogues. Maybe you're not interested in fighting just yet. Maybe you just want to sit down and talk with the other Servant. Find out what they want, what makes them tick. Get some wine while you're at it -- nothing like good wine to go with good talk!

4. Death. One or both of you lay dying...again. It might have been by the other's hand, or by someone else's entirely. How will you spend your last moments in this War in the presence of one of your rivals?

5. Identity. Congratulations, you've just learned each other's identities! Will this change the situation, or will you press onward?

6. Wild Card. Roll again, pick one of the previous options, or make one up!

Flat | Top-Level Comments Only

Is there really a need to be so accommodating to me?

[ Kindness -- she can't stand it. It infuriates her. She's a horrible, disgusting half-blooded monster, even now. She hated it, because it made her softer. ]

I've done this before, and learned that friction between a team causes both members to be dead.

Don't be kind to me; I can't stand kindness.

[ Master or not, Regina seems to be ruffled, turning her head away from him. ]

[Waver frowns, snatching the keys off the counter.]

Can you settle for amiable working relationship?

Do whatever you please; I am not a trustworthy woman. Your compassion is better spent on someone else.

Then I'm fighting against instinct.

Instinct?

If you knew who I was, you would soon regret that.

I teach, when I'm not fighting to destroy a magical item. My students are often bullied and taken advantage of.

Such a kind-hearted soul.

[ That is met with a dark, almost hollow laugh from Regina. ]

Who was foolish enough to contract with a treacherous woman like me? I may, indeed, be your servant. It's a shame that this relationship is so limited.

[ Vague flirting? Why not. ]

[That laugh begs one question of Waver: what the hell is wrong with Casters? Do they all incline towards that?]

Well, unfortunately that's the system. Limiting, since it's for such a specific purpose.

[What's flirting?]

A specific purpose, yes. And then what? What will you do once you have it?

[ Maybe it is a Caster thing or maybe it's her thing. It's hard to sell, but the role fits her so well, anyway. ]

Well, destroy the whole Grail system, naturally.

Destroy it? Do you really intend to use me for that?

[ She is far too amused with this than she should be, possibly because that sort of idealism reminds her of her late husband. She respected him once, but something happened down the line where she lost it, out of anger. ]

The system's broken and liable to destroy the whole city at this rate. It's done it twice before. The only way to fix a system is to work it from the inside.

Oh, I have no doubts about that.

[ She's just so darkly amused by it. ]

None at all. A shared sentiment, I suppose. But why not, I suppose I'm talented in destruction. Most would wish for something more than themselves. But you... you wish to destroy it. I don't know whether to be amused or impressed.

If someone who doesn't have experience with the matter fails to take care of the thing, then it'll keep festering. [Which Waver won't allow.]

I'll give you time to make up your mind about amused or impressed. One of them is slightly more insulting though.

[ She doesn't want to say she agrees with that, either, no thanks to her past and what she did to the latter portion of her life. ]

I suppose you'll find that out in time, amongst many other things.

[ Maybe then he'll understand why she thinks that whole entire thing is unfortunately funny.

Her. On the same level of some of the most famous warriors, alongside her husband and some of his men. It's almost a slap in the face. ]

Though, I won't keep you. If you understand what I ask, then I won't press. But I do demand a lot and much more than ritualistic practices.

[Waver sighs, and leans against the nearest wall.]

What else will you need? And will it be wise to assemble it now, for when you'll need it in an instant?

A sacrifice. If your stomach can allow it, a small animal.

[ Even in her times, it was unheard of. The Romans stomped that out 300 years before she was. Myrddin didn't shy away from that and neither did she. Neither did the Irish she spent time with.

The skull was a head she took; she usually waited for heads and bodies- ]

It is a strict guideline in which my Gorsedd set in place by Myrddin: never take flesh unless it is given to you, then it loses it's power.

That is all I need.

[ She'll just. Continue to collect things obsessively she deems are important, if he hasn't noticed her tendency to hoard by now. ]

--All right. I've used chickens before, and there should be a place to take them from if I'm remembering the city right.

[Waver had used chicken blood to summon Rider, and it was a death he'd be comfortable with. Anything closer to a pet would cause an issue.]

Good.

[ She's not sure why she's a little more sympathetic with him regarding him, it's hard to say. Feelings were very confusing for her. First, her husband, the great King Arthur, whom she loved for a small while. But her love for Lancelot was stronger than that for Arthur.

Just as destructive. Either way, she has a very hand's off approach, as usual, still condemning a lick of kindness.

It's her weird, little way to be kind. ]

Don't keep me waiting. I may not sleep, but I get bored easily.

Well, how did you entertain yourself usually?

[Waver pockets his car keys, and begins to meander out towards his rental.]
