Crumbling in some parts and impossibly beautiful in others, Rapture is the beginning and the end of mankind's genius. Rapture (also known as the North Atlantic project and the Rapture Colony) is a massive underwater city forged by the personal dreams of Andrew Ryan to escape from the political, social and religious anxieties of a post-World War II world. It was established on November 5, 1946 and finished in late 1951. It is located at 63° 2' N, 29° 55' W, which places it at about 433 kilometers west of Iceland's capital, Reykjavik.

ROLL FOR CHARACTER TYPE

1. Citizen of Rapture You were born underwater, you chose to come here. You're an artist or a painter or a thinker or a dreamer. You are the best that mankind has to offer and you have some vital skill that Andrew Ryan needs. You came because you wanted to earn everything by the sweat of your brow. Rapture is an ideal for you.

2. Discontented Citizen of Rapture Rapture is a purely capitalist society which means that everything from personal sanitation to food to housing comes with a price. Lacking social programs, you have to fight for everything that you have.

3. ADAM using Rapture Citizen. you have begun using plasmids and you're hooked. With your genetic code re-written on a daily basis, you're willing to kill and murder anyone to get your hands on EVE so you can keep being a god.

4. Splicer no matter what your weapon, prolonged use of ADAM has left you a mutated monster. You have the power of a god but you're deformed and like any addict you're looking for your next fix.

5. New Arrival You've lost someone or perhaps you've just ended up here, but you're here now and the city will not make you welcome. The more you discover about Rapture, the deeper you delve into the city and just what brought such a glittering metropolis to it's knees. Between the splicers who might even have been your friends and family and the Citizens trying to fight their way back to the surface, you had best grab a weapon, and grab one quick.

6. BIG DADDY/BIG SISTER You're a big daddy. Either you were just made into one or you've been one for years. You are bonded to a little sister. Your goal in life is to live for her-and kill anyone who gets in her way.

7. LITTLE SISTER You have, through some mischance, aged down and become a little sister. Either brought in from the surface or left abandoned by other rapture citizens, your life revolves around collecting Adam from the dead bodies around Rapture. You carry Adam-the device that makes plasmids work and that makes you a very high commodity. Better pair up quick with your big daddy.

8. GOVERNMENT AGENT The City of Rapture is closely monitored by all of the world's governments. You arrived here by one of the means of transport available to you. You're here for a plasmid or ADAM or something else. God help anyone who stands in your way-and god help YOU if you get caught by one of the discontented citizens.

SCENARIOS

1. FIRST HIT'S FREE It's your first time trying Adam and your first time using a plasmid. Freeze, shoot, stop, or blow your enemies away. What enemies are you fighting? Where? why? ...Do you even need to chose when you have godlike powers?

2. NEW YEARS EVE 1958 The city is at the brink of civil war. Capitalists at the top of the food chain and individuals at the bottom are preparing to feud. Fueled by a growing problem with an addiction to ADAM and plasmids, the bodies have been piling up in the streets for days. Tonight however, your fearless leader Andrew Ryan has promised you a party. If you want to strike back at the rich and upper crust, grab some ADAM and run, now is the time. If you want to survive, run. Either way it'll be a night to remember.

3. THE STRUGGLE The City has deteriorated. The world as far as you're concerned has ended. A mad scramble for food has left people fending for themselves. All that's left is to wait to die-or is there? There are means to get out of the city if you can find them. The problem is-you're weighed down by your group of fellow citizens/new arrivals. What can they do?

4. THE FIGHT You're cornered up against a big group of splicers, or you're a splicer fighting over Eve and plasmids found within the city. You have super powers, do you leave them and run or do you stand and fight?

5. ESCAPE IS POSSIBLE YOU HAVE REACHED YOUR GOAL. There's a way out, a boat at the surface, a plane, all you have to do is take a bathosphere up and get the hell away. The problem is can you? Do you want to? The splicers sure won't make it easy for you.

6. THE HUNT You're looking for something. The truth, an item, more Adam. You have to find it. Will people help you or will they stand in your way? Who will you have to tag in with? What will you do?

7. FREE ROUND play the game, don't play the game? Looking for crack? Think up your own scenario here.

8. THE TRUTH WILL SET YOU FREE. You are, in effect, the main character of bioshock. His story is your story. Make adjustments as you need and discover the truth behind your parentage.

It will set you free.

[Of course he'd be turned into a Big Daddy when he was captured. He already had the increased Strength and Durability. All they had to do was put him in a diving suit and hopefully control him. And judging by the yellow glow from his Helmet they've managed to do that.

Will you try and bring the clone back to his senses, will you kill him so you can harvest the Little Sisters nearby, or will you leave him be as he repairs this leaky pipe?]

[Thankfully, he's used to this sort of dark, dank lighting. It's something normal in regards to his home planet and the meteor. So being down here in Rapture with the fuzzy lighting, and the mildew scented air, and almost humid climate...It was almost familiar.

Except for the people rushing at him wearing strange masks, swinging crowbars and bats at him. He had one of his sickles on him, the other of which was lost somewhere in the frantic rush of trying to save his ass. But he needed something more...reliable. At least in his eyes. So when he spotted some sort of firearm sitting on a long since abandoned counter top, he lunged towards it, needing to get his mits on the damn thing.

And he wasn't going to let himself go down that easy.]

[Simply put, Asuka was not herself anymore. Hell, that was more like understatement of the year. She flexed her hand- opening and closing it, watching in an awe filled childish glee. Sparks flicked through the air as she did so.

She was so powerful now, so so powerful. Nobody was going to take that from her.]

[Just a handsome, well-meaning Irishman! ...Okay maybe he wants to start a revolution against the oppressive ANDREW ROIYAN, but who's counting.

You only catch glimpses of him in the city's dimmest, most obscure corners. Do you dare approach him? Does this man's appearance even match the illustration on the posters you've seen around the city? Do you believe in him? Will you fight with him, or against him?

Only one way to find out.]

[ The thick shadows settled under his eyes long ago, nearly black with their depth, the barest sign of the great many things wrong with him. The whole right side of his face scarred, marred as if by burns or scratches-- moments of crazed insanity where he dug into the skin and lashed at himself, struggled with the constant need. More ADAM, better ADAM-- the fight to keep that Godlike prowess awake in his body. His clothing a rich shade of green, a man who had at one point been of wealth before caving into the ugliness offered by the high of power and the addiction that came with it. It wasn't just mental, but physical, put him to ruin so quickly-- drained his funds till there was nothing left but that thirst for more and the desire to bring all those above him down. He could not ascend again, so he would have to grip them in that tight cloying grasp and push them down as far as he could.

There is no help for him, there is only ADAM. ]
