THE NEWLYWEDS MEME

Early in marriage, newly married couples are affectionate, very much in love, and relatively free of excessive conflict, a state that might be called "blissful harmony."

This is a meme for playing that period out! Because a little fluff (or even smut for some couples) every now and then is a wonderful thing.

The rules:

1) Comment with your character's name and canon, and any preferences you might have.
2) Tag other people who have posted. The two of you are now newlyweds!
3) The scenario is up to you! Could be the wedding night, the honeymoon, a couple months, or even a year after the wedding! At home, at a hotel, wherever and whenever is completely up to you!

Orihime wasn't punctual with her closing time, like she'd hoped. She'd wanted to make sure every last customer was fed and satisfied before she finally locked the door and flipped the sign. One would think that now she can finally relax, but nope! Her night has just begun! ...To say nothing of the massive baking she'll have to do tomorrow morning to replenish her stock. Who knew she would sell so many cakes?

She peeked out the shop window, partially hoping she'd see Marlon returning, but partially hoping she still had a little time to prepare for their evening date. She had reserved the eight mochi flavors as promised, but hadn't arranged them in an aesthetically pleasing fashion, and she definitely wanted to make it cute. Presentation had a funny way of improving a dish's flavor, just by increasing the anticipation and expectation of the consumer.

Besides, she had frosting and flour in a dozen different places, and an apron was not a foolproof way to catch it all. She dashed upstairs to shower and change into an old yukata that was a pretty daffodil yellow, fashioned with magnolias in silver and crimson thread. She bound up her hair with a wide bamboo clip, making sure the tips spiked out over the top, and leaving a few loose strands to frame her face.

In her socks, she ran back to the kitchen and rolled up her voluminous sleeves to start putting together a platter of mochi and small sample-sizes of leftover slices of cakes so he could try a little of everything. Should she light incense? She paused, looking at the burner, then decided against it. Maybe after they returned from their walk under the festival lanterns and moonlit sky of stars.

[Orihime leans excitedly out the balcony of their suite, hands gripping the railing. Outside they have a perfect view of the ocean, rolling up and cresting over the rocky shore. The beach is a little further down, and if she cranes her neck, she can see that too.]

[She's tired after the long ride, and she'd thought to suggest a nap before they start touring the island, but with so much to see it isn't hard to recapture some of her energy. She's not so sure about her young husband, though. She grins back over her shoulder to see how he's doing. Their luggage is still packed up, and nothing in the room has even been touched.]
