We are dumb. So dumb that we've been running our mouths for weeks. So dumb that we owe Booster Terrik money, which is why we're stuck in the Venture. [ Wedge re-adjusts his hat. It is the perfect hat, because it makes him look like an idiot. ] Lando gave me this hat.
I'm having flashbacks to Fod, Dod, and Lod. Too bad Hobbie wasn't there for that.
[Hobbie's lips twitch in amusement.] It'll be our little secret.
[Then he snaps his fingers as if Wedge has just reminded him of something.] Oh yeah, the pension! I totally forget! You must have left it in our non-existent ship!
[His voice raises on the last few words, mostly for the express purpose of catching nearby attention and seeing who bites.]
[ On cue, Wedge snaps as well. He shoves Hobbie, focusing all of his strength on his prosthetic arm; which will hardly hurt, because that thing could knock out a Wookiee. ] Maybe if you weren't so bad at sabacc, we would still have the freighter! [ A discussion turning into blows between two smugglers is hardly attention-worthy. They'll have to ramp it up.
Wedge reaches for his blaster. ] Now how are we supposed to get those shipments, huh? Huh!?
hobbie later: "just tell me one thing...you didn't really mean it about the sabacc, right?"
[The arm does make a handy secret weapon...but shoved as he is, Hobbie staggers backward into a knot of bystanders before he pushes them away angrily as he gets his feet under him again.] Bad at sabacc? You take that back!
[Hobbie's not quite close enough to actually shove Wedge in return before he sees the other man reaching for his blaster.] We're not getting anything if you shoot me!
I'm finally done moving out, moving in, and finals
[ Wedge pulls out his blaster, safety still on. Someone in the audience gasps, some disperse, while others stay, ready to enjoy a free show. ] Maybe we won't, but I—
[ Quietly, three men approach. They look non-descript, their clothes have seen better days...but their weapons give them away. Top of the line blasters, the kind only New Republic soldiers are allowed to own—but here, in Booster's shadowport, no one cares about legalities. ] Heard you boys fightin' all the way from the casino. [ He begins with a neutral accent, the kind only acquired through extensive traveling, a mixture of so much that it comes out bland. ] Heard you also might have some info we might want.
woo! /confetti (also wow, I almost forgot about this thread)
[Hobbie turns a pretty impressive glower from being directed at Wedge to being directed at the newcomers, despite their sidearms.]
Depends on what you're offering. It's not going to come cheap. [Said like someone who doesn't actually realize just how over their head they likely are.]

[The obvious answer being that "Derek" is even dumber than "Dash", of course.]
Which is why he gets to be here for this one
For my charming wit, I hope. Or maybe it's the pension.
