The 'We're Stranded' Meme
You’re stranded it’s as simple as that. Maybe you were on your way to a nice relaxing holiday, a business trip or maybe you were just on your way home. Whatever the case, it doesn’t look like you’re going to be reaching your destination any time soon. You’re stuck and all you can do is to try and survive until help arrives. If help ever does arrive. Well, at least you’re not alone. No, there’s someone here stranded with you. Maybe you know them, maybe they’re a complete stranger or maybe they were stranded here long before you. Whoever they are you’re going to have to work together to get out of this mess.
What you do to survive and what happens to you is up to you. Do you search for food, do you try and find any signs of human life, do you have a run in with the locals or the local wildlife or do you just close your eyes and hope someone finds you. Whatever happens good luck.
RULES
- Comment with your character, canon, preferences and any ideas you might have
- It might be useful to note whether you want the interaction to be between two strangers or if you’re okay with any assumed cr
- Feel free to set up your own scenario in your initial comment to give taggers something to work with or just leave your comment blank
- Pick a scenario that catches your eye or use trusty old RNG
- Reply to others!
WHERE ARE YOU STRANDED?
- On an island – You’re stranded on an island in the middle of nowhere. There’s no phone or radio signal and there are no signs of life (that you can see). It could be a huge island with a dense forest in the center or it could be a small, sandy island with sparse vegetation cover. It’s up to you.
- In the jungle – One minute you’re making your way along a jungle trail and the next minute you’re completely lost. You have no idea where you are, you have no idea which way to go and all you can see around you is trees and more trees. Have fun in the jungle. Look out for the wildlife and any local tribes
- In space – The sci-fi option. For some reason you were in space. Maybe you’re inside a ship stranded in the middle of nowhere or stranded in the middle of some kind of asteroid field. Or maybe you were outside of your space shuttle and now you’re stranded with no way to return. Let’s hope your oxygen supply doesn’t run out
- Open Water – Maybe you were simply out for a swim and the current was too strong, pulling you out to sea. Maybe you were diving and after resurfacing you’ve realized you have absolutely no idea which way is land and your boat is nowhere to be seen. Or maybe it’s a Titanic-type situation and your ship has sunk. Better get your life jacket ready.
- High in the air – Maybe you’re trapped in a ski lift high above the ground just like the movie Frozen. Maybe you were on a roller-coaster or a Ferris wheel and the rides malfunctioned. Or maybe you’re just stuck at the top of a really, really high mountain or cliff. Whatever the situation you better not be afraid of heights!
- Inside an elevator - This one is pretty self-explanatory. You were in an elevator, the elevator stopped and now you’re stranded inside the small space, probably with a bunch of people you don’t know until help arrives.
- A cave – Maybe you had planned to explore the cave system or maybe it was a spontaneous event but you went inside and now you’re stranded with no way out.
- The middle of nowhere – This can cover any landscape really: a mountainous area, a desert, the middle of the countryside, a tundra area. Whatever the landscape there’s no signs of human life anywhere. You’re stranded.
- Wild Card! – Don’t like any of the options given? Come up with your own scenario!
WHAT ARE YOU DOING?
- Extreme weather! - You're caught in a blizzard or a thunderstorm.
- Searching for food/supplies!
- Setting up a camp/shelter from the rain
- Coming into contact with (possibly dangerous) locals/local wildlife
- Calling for help
- Trying to find a place with better signal
- Just generally freaking out
- Trying to come up with a plan
- An obligatory smut option
- Wild Card! – There are so many options and so many things you could do in this situation. Use your imagination!

9-7ish...
He arrives at the HYDRA base the night he planned, after several days of some careful observation. The facility is underground, meaning there are only a few ways in and out, and he needs to be cautious in order to secure an entrance and an exit. Once he does that, though, he's confident enough in his skills and his memories of the place to move forward. So he goes in.
But when he first enters, he finds the first expected guards already dead--clean kills, something that wouldn't cause a scene and wouldn't alert the rest of the base to the assailant's presence. Although it makes him suspicious, he can appreciate the technique--and it's more HYDRA dead. He's already decided to take out this base, so even if it ends up being done before him, he'll move forward.
His own kills are probably not quite as clean and silent as the unknown intruder's, involving silenced gunshots, knife wounds, and some small amount of yelling on HYDRA's part. But he's efficient, and he's saving the louder methods for when he knows he can kill the rest quickly enough to prevent them from sending any messages. He takes a few hits, but it's nothing he can't push through.
Unfortunately, it's not very long before he feels the ground and building shaking violently around him. He stumbles briefly, knocked off balance as dust and small pieces of rubble fall into his hair, and he can only assume that means HYDRA has been alerted to an intruder's presence and has decided to take drastic measures. It's not the optimal situation, and it means he's very possibly lost his exits.
He hurries forward, wanting to make sure he can kill every agent in this base if he has to be trapped, and a flash of red hair catches his eye as he turns a corner. Without bothering to think, he aims the pistol in his hand and fires.]
[OOC: let me know if this is cool!]
this is so cool it's stone cold and i love it.
Nat was only about halfway down the to do list. She'd left her initial friends on the ground and out, and she was making the most of the situation, having plugged in a decently sized thumb drive into their mainframe and letting JARVIS take the reigns. They hadn't been alerted in the building just yet, and she planned on getting everything before she was discovered.
Something went out though, and the databases started to deteriorate, the kill switch had been pulled. There's yelling and shaking, the groaning of metal, men grunting and she's not the only one here, is she?
Survival instincts kick in, and she's yanked the drive out of the database, and taken cover under it's now dead occupant's desk. She listens; only one pair of footsteps.
Perhaps, this wasn't a bad draw, but she couldn't be cornered over here, not if she didn't know who it was. After all, the enemy of my enemy, but that was a crapshoot nowadays. For all she knew it could be HYDRA tying up their own loose ends, or something else entirely.
Nat wasn't gambling today, not really in the mood for it.
The footsteps stop, and sound like they're fumbling with another set, someone's being taken out and while their focus was gone, she had to move. The echoes are tricky, after all, they are underground, and she's confronted.
The Winter Soldier.
Only given a tenth of a second to think, she ducks, and her own sidearm drawn, spraying three warning shots. ]
aw gosh i'm glad.
The fact that he was shot at in return, warning shots or no, is enough to set him on edge and make him lean towards perceiving her as an enemy. Even so, the misses and additional time to process the image of the woman's face causes him to pause. He'd seen her picture in a file, was warned about her abilities and the trickery she employs. It's one of the few mission files he remembers clearly.
Which means that in all likelihood, she's an ally of Captain Rogers'. In any case, she's certainly not HYDRA, which means she must have been the other unknown intruder.
He watches her silently, not certain of her motives here, if she might be aware of who he is. He'll take action based on what he sees next--he'd prefer not to kill an ally of the captain if given the option.]

Because she wasn't, and she knew she was evenly matched at this point. There would be no getting out if he continued to be hostile. But he had no reason to be. Neither did she. The enemy of my enemy is my friend. Is Steve's friend. Literally.
Without comm access down here underground, she had no immediate method of communication. She had JARVIS, and if they kept the power, she could have an evac out in about two and a half hours. Sadly, that was the best case scenario. She'd have to talk to him. He knew who she was, right?
Boldly, and putting her faith in Steve's judgement for the moment (something she's not used to doing just yet) she steps out. Right on out from behind the corner. Plain view. Clear shot. She doesn't go as far as putting her hands up, her sidearm is still focused on him, but the ball was now in his court. ]
What the hell are you doing here.
[ Because now we're both stuck and if you're here for the same reason I'm here, we can be un-fucked really quickly here. ]

He moves out a few feet himself, keeping his own firearm pointed in her direction just in case. He can't be certain that this isn't a trick.]
Taking out HYDRA.
[His voice hasn't been used much in a while, and it's somewhat obvious.]

[ You are a pain in the ass sir whether you're trying to kill me or getting me killed. Or just losing the entire database inside. You know. The usual 'oopsies'. ]
So then I'm okay not expecting any surprises from you.
[ A statement, not a question. Her attention is wavering though, footsteps come up quickly behind him and she braces to provide cover fire. ]

The soldier turns, making the decision to show his back to Romanoff as he faces the approaching HYDRA soldiers. A few shots from his pistol takes out the first ones to come near, though after that he has to duck behind cover and reload. His weapons aren't quite as disposable as he used to be, so he's making an attempt to not toss them away at the first chance.]
