[Haunted by past memories of his life as a Honedge (in which he had been stolen by Team Galactic, Team Rocket, and Mewtwo, before landing in the hands of a competent trainer who kicked it and ending his days in a PC) Tsurumaru Kuninaga had neverless managed to get his shit together enough in his human life that he had ended up as a gym leader. He was notorious for his gym gimmick, which involved a lot of...surprises (don't ask), as well as his birds.

Alternatively, he's a gym leader minus the tragic backstory.

Alternatively, he's just a Honedge.]

For this AU she had always lived in the Pokemon world (from the Kalos region originally) and ever since she was 10 traveled between regions and basically just for seeing the sights and to find her own way.)

Trainer class: Blackbelt/Leader in training

For this AU: Four has brought to the Pokemon world and he has been there for a little over two years and works in a Pokemon gym as an apprentice who is training to take over it one day.)

[ Assuming she was born here, Rita Mordio has mostly been holed up in one corner of the world, Ecruteak City to be precise. She'd have her own little hut, researching mostly the ancient Pokemon and also the uses of Pokemon in society, stuff like that. She'd only have one trusty Pokemon at that time, that being her Growlithe. Very closed in and such, probably would need reason/prodding to ever take up any kind of adventure. (A scientist type.)

Assuming she was transported to the Pokemon-verse, she'd definitely be traveling-- both to find people she knows and to figure out a way back/the mysteries of the world. She'll definitely be taking a lot of notes, too. The Pokemon she would catch would mostly be for versatility and not for brute strength, although she likes the occasional zap. Her team would be: Fennekin, Omanyte, Pikachu, Purrloin, Gulpin, and Natu (likely varying evolved versions depending on how long she's been there).

Open to just about anyone or anything! Ask if you're unsure. ]

[Going with an AU in which he's a Dark-type gym leader. Signature Pokemon is Honchkrow, and the rest of his team is Umbreon, Bisharp, Shiftry, Malamar, and Weavile. He doesn't necessarily want to be a Dark-type gym leader, and so some of his gym fights might be a little half-assed.

And for the sake of making everything as awful as possible, he's also the villainous sort of gym leader who has done really stupid things and somehow summoned and/or angered a Darkrai, if you want something a little more dramatic.]

[For a Dark-type Gym, Right's rather surprised at all the things that either have glitter or shiny things on it. A huge disco ball hangs over the platform on the far end of the gym - most likely where the Gym leader is.

But man, these guys between Right and said leader? Tough Pokemon, as he expected, but their trainers seem a lot like assholes to him. Except that last one, the Lady Gritta - she's very nice and has healed all his Pokemon back to full strength, explaining that her leader wants a fair match. Which...makes a lot of sense in Right's mind. It's really no fun if neither side are giving their all.

So, he steps onto the platform of the Gym Leader, Emboar and Sylveon by his side and his other four Pokemon resting in their PokeBalls. This is it...the last fight to win in order to challenge the Pokemon Elite 4.]

Well, look who made it!

[There are Pokemon lurking around behind Zed in the darkness. It's hard to make out what they might be.]

I guess we should get this show on the road, then...

[There's an odd glint in Zed's eyes as he steps into the spotlight.]

Told you I wasn't gonna stop! [A big grin quickly spreads across his face as Right remembers this guy. They had run into each other at the nearby ruins just the other day. Zed had gushed over Sylveon, and she rather enjoyed the attention...until she saw something in his eyes and suddenly freaked out. Very unlike her usual behavior around new people...

But Right's pushing that memory aside as he points a finger at Zed.] You and your Pokemon may be strong, but I bet we'll still win. [He taps the side of his forehead.] I see it...the image of us getting that badge.... So long as I have that image in my head, we can't lose!

[Oh, that's kind of a crazy look in his eyes as he raises his arms into the air, spreading them wide.]

Come, Darkrai!

[The Pokemon emerging from the darkness behind him certainly doesn't look very nice, to put it mildly.]

[Right's eyes widened in surprise for a moment or two. That...doesn't look like your typical Dark-type Pokemon. For one, he's huge. And for another...] W-Waitasec! Isn't he one of those dream Pokemon that were part of those ruin drawings?!

[The Pokemon behind him roars. It's either angry or upset. Hard to say which.]

That's...that's not fair! You can't just make everyone try and defeat a living legend just to get that last badge! You gotta give them a fair chance with the Pokemon that are either your old friends, or the new friends that you met through the League!

[Right's Pokemon gives him a pair of "you're being stupid again" looks. This Gym leader has awakened a rather cranky Dream Legendary, and their human's more worried about whether it violates League rules?!]

You're thinking so small!

[Zed gives an exaggerated tap to one of his temples.]

This is about more than just a gym badge! This is about bringing everyone else into the darkness with me!

I-Into the darkness? Why?! I mean, that's just crazy! If everyone's in the darkness, there wouldn't be any "shiny" people or Pokemon that you liked - like you told me when we first met!

[Sylveon and Emboar, meanwhile, are carefully placing themselves between the darkness team and their human. Legendary Dream Pokemon or not, they're not about to lose their Trainer - not now, not like this.

Does it matter that they exist? I can't have any. I never could.

[Darkrai is bellowing loudly now. Looks like it's getting ready to attack.]

[Okay, now Right's taking a step back. But not (entirely) out of fear. Him taking a step back always signals to his Pokemon that a battle's about to begin. And true to form, Emboar and Sylveon fell into ready stances out of their "oh, sh--!" fearful ones.]

If all you want is a shiny or Fairy Pokemon, I know a couple of places that you can find and catch one - especially Fairy types. [He's hoping that it might help snap Zed out of it.]

That's not going to change anything. I'm still stuck in the darkness.

[He gestures grandly, and Darkrai charges forward.]

Sylveon, Moonblast him!

[And true to form, the Fairy Pokemon unleashes a very strong Moonblast at the charging Darkrai.]

Darkrai! Dark Void!

[That Moonblast hits and makes Darkrai hesitate, but now it's getting a lot darker in there...and anyone in range just might start to feel a little bit sleepy.]

[Right shakes his head as if it would remove the sudden drowsiness. He grits his teeth as he pretends that he's not that sleepy.] Sylveon, keep blasting him! Emboar - Brick Break!

[Sylveon did summon up another Moonblast to hit Darkrai with, but Emboar's Brick Break doesn't quite go off due to the poor fiery fighter tripping and falling into slumber half-way across the stage.]

Emboar, Wake Up! Emboar~!

Dream Eater!

[The Moonblast stops Darkrai from descending upon Emboar, and now it's sort of swatting at the Fairy Pokemon.]

Keep blasting him! [Right grits his teeth as he forces himself to stay awake long enough to reach into his bag. All those times that he's been growing and harvesting berries for his own appetite now has a secondary benefit, as he digs out some Chesto Berries.

After he pops a couple of them into his mouth in order to help wake himself back up, he makes a run towards Emboar, fully intending to stuff the remaining handful of berries into his snoozing piggy friend. He's just hoping that Sylveon stays awake herself long enough to cover for him.]

You keep blasting right back!

[But Darkrai's not listening to Zed, it's swatting at the Sylveon, because the Sylveon is hurting it, and it is getting kind of tired and would like to go home, and this is all very frustrating...]

[Thankfully, Fairy types are quite resilient against Dark-type attacks. So, even when Sylveon does get swatted away a bit, the damage isn't as bad as it could've been. She is, however, having a lot of trouble staying awake, even if she's still able to execute one more Moonblast.

And that helps gives Right the cover he needs to shove some Chesto Berries into his Emboar's mouth. Awakening with a roar, the fiery pig Pokemon leaps to his feet and executes the long-delayed Brick Break. How 'bout that STAB fighting move, eh, Darkrai?]

[WOW RUDE

Darkrai doesn't like that at all, and the monster goes reeling back. Zed seems upset.]

Hey! Get back in there and finish this!

[Emboar grunts as he readies himself for a charge. However, Right puts an arm in front of him - the universal signal for "stop".]

Let him go. If he doesn't want to fight anymore, then just leave him be. [That was directed more towards Zed than his own Pokemon.

Sylveon stumbles up to Right before she finally falls asleep at his feet.]

[Angry Legendary Pokemon tended to do things that drew a lot of attention and made people either scramble for safety or try and get in there to calm them down. Yet, whatever had happened to make Darkrai as angry as it was warranted all of the other gym leaders to get together and try to investigate. Kouta tagged along with his sister to meet up with the others who were already at the entrance to the city.

At some point though... his Floette and Lillipup had wandered off and he ended up breaking off from the group to look for them. It was eerie, seeing people and Pokemon just lying about in the streets, shifting and mumbling as they continued to suffer a nightmare they wouldn't be escaping from any time soon.]

Floette! Lillipup! Guys, where are you?!

[Akira was going to be mad he had gone off to look for them without telling her...]

Something wrong?

[Hey! Here's someone who doesn't appear to be suffering from nightmares! And is also smiling. And who may or may not have had a really creepy glint of red flashing through his eyes there for a second. Nothing to worry about, right?]

[Yeah, that was creepy. Kouta stares openly at the person who seemed to be unaffected by the affliction everyone else had.]

Um...

You know, that's funny. Everyone else is feeling the darkness; why aren't you?

I just got here. What about you? How did you avoid all of this?

[He gestures to the general area.]

[Zed smiles. It's not a nice smile. Nor is it a particularly balanced one.]

It's easy--I did all this.

You...?!

[Now he really wishes he wasn't alone. This was starting to look like he was in a bad situation.]

Why would you do all of this?

Why? Why? So everyone else can feel the same darkness I've been stuck in all my life!

[Someone's a little unhinged. Also, someone has a very unnatural red gleam in his eyes.]

[Unhinged was selling it short. Kouta is very tense at this point and he's getting really close to the fight-or-flight level of tense.

And he still hadn't found Floette and Lillipup. What if they had come across this guy too?]

[There's a dark shadow forming behind Zed, and it's not human-shaped. Something far more monstrous...]

[There's a few options below on the type of AU for him:

1) Right's the Main Character of this AU, meaning that he's the one challenging the Gyms, stopping the bad guys, and even making friends with a Legendary or two. Starts with a Tepig, but amasses quite the small army of Pokemon to pick and choose for his Gym battles.

2) Right's the League Champion, and his four best friends (and canon teammates) are the Elite Four. They're (in)famous for thinking outside the box, and for teaching their Pokemon type-effective moves against any types that each Pokemon are weak to. Right himself slightly favors Fire and Fairy, and his signature Pokemon are Emboar, Sylveon, and (Mega) Gardevoir. When he's not facing challenges, he's normally found at all the cafes and eateries around the region, especially if he's accompanies by his Snorlax friend.

((Also, if you want post-apocalypse AU of the Pokemon AU, Right does have something akin to that as listed here for those interested))]

[Mysterious, retired League Champion who still helps take down any evil Teams on a day that ends with -y. Normally favors Fire and Fighting types; signature Pokemon is a Blaziken that can Mega Evolve. May or may not have befriended Victini.]

((Beauty with a Swoobat plus a couple of Steel and Psychic types.))

[Clive is a Dark-type gym leader whose signature Pokemon is Honchkrow and the rest of his team consists of Zoroark, Drapion, Sableye, Absol, and Hydreigon. The gym itself is built to look like a flashy, luxurious casino with multiple rooms and is only open from 8pm-5am. Each room features a different casino game and the "dealers" are all tall, intimidating men in black suits. They will prompt you to solve a puzzle based on the game and you can only battle them if you answer the puzzle correctly, and only upon defeating them in battle will you be allowed to move on to the next room. Each puzzle also has a time limit so if you fail to find the solution within that amount of time you will be forced to leave the gym and won't be allowed to come back until the next night. Clive's gym is the last one in the region and is notorious for its difficulty - just making it to the gym leader's room is something to be proud of and earns you bragging rights.

Additionally, each trainer in the gym has a Murkrow on their team, as if to symbolize that Clive is their boss and they are his minions. Could they possibly be...? Hahaha, no, that's completely ridiculous...

Feel free to assume that your character made it to Clive's room if they're interested in challenging the gym, otherwise he can also be encountered during the daytime outside of his gym, although he keeps his gym leader status under wraps so unless you're a fellow gym leader/Pokemon League member or a previous victor of his gym (or almost-victor) you probably won't know about it.]

[ooc: Because well why not. AU where Alucard is the very best like no one ever was. And he eats you when you lose.]

Trainer Level: Red Boss Level (Can't beat him unless you're a cast mate)
