I have died every day waiting for you.

I have loved you for a thousand years...

Some say that if a pair of lovers die together in tragedy, they will get another chance when they are reborn. Even if the two of you keep losing each other, you'll get to meet again.

This meme is that meeting. For the first time? For the hundredth time? That much isn't clear. What is clear is that on this, your seeming first meeting -

Everything rushes back to you. Memories, emotion, and all the comes with it...including the memory of how you two died. Overwhelming, isn't it? Some people find it hard to accept, for good reason. What will you do? You can't just bring it up, they'll think you're crazy! Maybe you don't want to bring it up, as you refuse to believe it yourself. And even if you do believe it, that doesn't mean you have to embrace it. You're your own person, after all. You refuse to love someone merely because of who you were in the past.

Or maybe you can't help but let these feelings rise to the surface because they're too strong. No matter what, you can't repress it. In fact, the more you two meet and spend time together, the more you find yourself falling back into the old roles...and making the old mistakes. That isn't good, though; there's one more thing. One of you, when you first met, had a vision about how the two of you would die this time.

You can't let that happen. Not again.

  • Comment with your character and your preferences.
  • Feel free to do a modern AU of your character. Assumed CR and AUs are a must here.
  • Don't feel obligated to stick with first meetings. Play that the characters have known each other for a while, are trying to have a relationship while trying to be their own unique selves, not having a relationship because THE PAST DOESN'T DEFINE ME, or even trying to avoid death in an adventurous fashion!
  • Reply to others.

...I'll love you for a thousand more.

Sounds great, so long as she's not working for Hydra/an enemy of some sort...she could be a soldier, absolutely, or working for SHIELD as part of the same raid?

[SHIELD agent it is then! Have a starter and let me know if anything doesn't work.]

Steve would blame missing Hawke the first time on complete exhaustion. Between searching for Bucky and taking down Hydra bases even his super constitution had pretty much been stretched to it's limit. So he wasn't really focusing on the people who were lending a hand until he'd finished kicking doors down and clearing rooms of Hydra agents and scientists.

"This is the captain," he calls softly over the communicator, "top floor is clear. Someone give me a run down on where we are with the rest of the building please."

[Fine by me! I am a bit slow due to real life, sorry about that. =( Also, pardon me while I BS a lot.]

Hawke can't claim to have missed Steve. Who could? He's Captain frikking America. You'd have had to spend the past several years blind and deaf to miss him, even if you didn't work for SHIELD. If she feels an odd internal twinge whenever his face shows up on screens or his voice is heard over speakers, she writes it off as hero worship. True, she isn't usually prone to hero worship, but what other explanation is there? It's not as though he doesn't deserve it.

Whatever her own odd feelings are, there's no hint of them when she picks up a communicator and responds. "Second and third floors clear, Captain," she said, just as quietly. "But we've got a new handful of bad guys who just walked in through the front door. I was just about to head down there, but if you're free to lend a hand I wouldn't complain."

All right, so bad guys isn't official approved terminology. Hawke has trouble taking all the jargon seriously, even though she works here. On those grounds it's perhaps just as well she's going to be out of a job once they all finish dismantling SHIELD.

Steve feels a shiver crawl up his spine at the sound of the female voice. But unlike other shivers he's gotten over the years this one is plesant and calming in an odd way. He turns to head back down the stairs. "I'm headed to your position agent," he replies with a smile, "it would be my pleasure to help you take down some bad guys."

"Who I'm I talking to by the way?"

Argh, make that very slow. Sorry. =(

"Agent Marian Hawke, Captain." She could give her security clearance, but there's not much point these days. Everything is compromised to all hell. "But how about we save the formal introductions until after we're out of here, hmm?"

She takes the stairs by twos and threes, hoping to get in place downstairs and get the jump on the new arrivals. There's no better way to diffuse a possible ambush than to ambush them first. "Otherwise you might think my middle name is gunfire."

"Nice to meet you Agent Hawke," Steve replies a grin evident in his voice as he jogs down the stairs smashing a Hydra goon in the face with his shield on his way down. "there is always time for formal hellos even during smash the Hydra time."
