[Orihime really likes summer. It's hard not to feel nostalgic for the days when everyone would get excited about a month-long break from school, and that excitement still carries over when the days get long and hot, and the cicadas scream nonstop.]

[But while she enjoys the rabid heat, she definitely notices that other members of the household are...cranky, to put it lightly. She just weathered the worst kind of lecture from the matriarch: performing her wifely duties for her new husband. She doubts either of them are really ready for that, but the matriarch isn't going to hear any excuses. So Orihime escapes into the bedroom, where at least it's a little air conditioned, and heaves a sigh of relief as she rests her back against the door. After so many months in a fortress in the peaks of the Frostbacks, Josephine probably shouldn't be surprised that she's grown accustomed to the cold--but she is. Returning to Antiva City's summer heat is a shock, even with a breeze off the Rialto to mitigate it.

It's scarcely cooler at night; at the ball that evening, she keeps a fan close at hand, cooling herself as she chats with old friends and makes great headway in gathering allies for the Inquisition. They'll be here a few weeks, but there's no reason not to start now, even with the weariness of travel still at her heels. Every voice ready to speak in their favour is a necessary one.

During a lull in the festivities, she comes upon Cassandra and can't help but smile at the sight of her. Sometimes she seems about as comfortable in formal dress as poor Cullen. "How are you enjoying yourself, my lady?"
