the "should never be together" meme.

When two people come together in a relationship, it's a beautiful thing. What can be wrong with love, right? Right? Except when the union is completely and totally wrong, for whatever reason. Then things can get a little messy.

How To Play
1. Comment with your character, listing their name, canon, etc, along with any preferences.
2. Comment around to others, using the RNG to determine the scenario. It doesn't have to be a lovey-dovey relationship, obviously. There can be hate, sorrow, lust, whatever.
3. Thread! Have fun! Do things!

Scenarios
1. Warring Factions: You belong to rival organizations, armies, clubs, etc. Whatever it is, you're not on the same team.

2. Soldiers on the Battlefield: Or maybe you are on the same side, but this is the wrong time and the wrong place. Plus, attachments cause distractions.

3. Bodyguard and the Guarded: Just like the movie with Kevin Costner! One of you has been hired to protect the other for some reason, and feelings are starting to grow. Are you a professional and cut things off, or do you give in?

4. Prince/ss and Knight: Similar to the above, but with a whole 'nother level of wrong...one of you is royal. Courtly love is okay; still, don't forget your place.

5. Enemies: This vendetta is personal, and you totally hate this person! Don't you? Perhaps you're maybe just rivals, or something as serious as superhero and villain.

6. Family: The ultimate taboo. This person is related to you, so there's no way you should indulge this desire, even if it's the most pure love there ever was.

7. Age Difference: The years between you should keep you both at bay, but it's easier said than done.

10. Teacher/Student: Teachers and students have a unique bond, and to corrupt it is a dangerous thing. Will you dare to act on emotions that could put you both in a destructive place?

11. Already Spoken For: One or both of you are already involved with someone else, but the heart wants what the heart wants. Just know that you can't have your cake and eat it, too.

12. Not Compatible: Your personalities or jobs make it so it's hard for you to be together.

13. Not Compatible...in Another Way: You're both different species, which means you're either afraid to take your relationship to a physical level or you can't because of differences in biologies.

14. Not Ready for Love: You took a vow (or celbacy, of chastity, of dedication), you're married to your work, or you just don't want to be involved with anyone. Too bad!

15. Rich and Poor: One of you has the money while the other is from more modest means. Can the 1% and the 99% ever be bedfellows, literally?

16. Hurt Before: Your heart has been broken, and maybe there's been no time to heal. But here you are.

17. WILDCARD

Odd. [Ned furrowed his brow and could not think of any means that they could have travelled here apart from being knocked out. Perhaps, they were knocked out then placed within the cell to see what would happen? Ned had guessed that the Lannisters were probably behind this whole charade.]

I wonder why we're both here together. It just seems wrong to me and rather stupid.

It would seem that there is some enemy we share that would enjoy seeing us imprisoned. Either we are more valuable to them here, or they wish to see us kill each other.

[There's a long pause as she lets that sink in. But she's more so wondering what possible common enemy they could have.]

But judging from the lack of weapons in here, I doubt they've considered the latter - so they must be planning on using us later.

[She's more clever than she's often given credit for.]

[He could think of many people within King's Landing who would want both himself and the dragon queen imprisoned in the Red Keep. Cersei and Jaime Lannister for one. Possibly, Tyrion Lannister also, since Cat took him as hostage, after learning about Bran's assassin.]

Aye, there are no weapons, so killing each other for sport is out of the question. All we need really is a lock pick. [His eyes flitted to Daenerys's hair for one moment.]

Do you have such an object within those silver curls of yours? A hair clip would be useful right now.

[She reaches up to her hair, unpinning the Dothraki leather clip that kept her hair secured back. Daenerys holds the clip and pin out to Ned in offering.]

You're welcome to it, but as the clip is made of leather and the pin that secures it made of wood, I fail to see how it will be of much use.

[Ned took the hair pun from her and wondered if it would actually work. It was better than nothing, right? He pushed the wooden pin carefully into the lock and tried to loosen the tumblers gently. It seemed a fruitless exercise but Ned was going to be damned if he were to rot in a cell forever.]

Damn....this bloody thing isn't working very well...

[Daenerys sits up a bit to watch his work. If anyone could make it work, surely it would be Ned Stark, would it not? She's hopeful as he works the pin into the lock.]

It will not be ideal, certainly. But if anyone can make the best of dire situations, it would be you.

[Ned was skilled more with a sword than a lock pick but he would be damned if he was to give up now. He couldn't. Otherwise, they might both die. He managed to click one tumbler with acute accuracy then felt the pin snap with the tension.]

Damn! It's bloody broken. [He threw down the broken pin and slammed his back against the wall in frustration.] I nearly had it there too.

[Daenerys had been focusing on the lock, as if willing him to be successful. When she heard the pin snap she too leaned back against the wall and sighed in frustration.]

You did...

I thought you had it for a moment. But you did your best. We'll just have to find another way...

Aye, so did I, but this pin wasn't as good as I thought it would be. [He offered her a forlorn smile and wanted to thank her anyway.] Thank you for letting me try though.

[Ned looked past the cold, iron bars to where the guard's chair was. It was vacant. Yet, he had left a bundle of keys on top of the chair.]

I've got another idea. Perhaps, if we used one of your long strands of hair, tied that to something we can use as a hook and hook the keys from that chair.

[She followed his gaze after proposing his next idea to her. Daenerys spied the keys and understood his meaning right off. She reached up and pushed her fingers through her long hair and nodded a bit.]

It's certainly worth trying. But what might we use as a hook? Have you some belt or clasp?

[He unbelted his leather belt from his tunic and managed to recover the clasp from the buckle and passed it to her.]

Perhaps you could thread a strong thread of hair through that perhaps?

[Nodding, Daenerys plucked a couple long, healthy threads of silver-blonde hair from her head and took the belt from Ned. She threaded each strand through and tied them together. Then she handed the clasp of the belt back over.]

Think that will work?

I hope for both of our sakes it works. [Ned furrowed his brow and took hold of the fragile hair rope with the hook at the end. He got close to the cold iron bars and managed to swing the rope between the bars and onto the chair. It then fell onto the floor clutching nothing.]

Damn. Look's like it needs some practice....

[She watches carefully, studying him as he tries to get the keys with the new instrument they've created.]

[She hides her disappointment when he's unsuccessful.]

Well...if it's one thing we have it seems to be plenty of time.

Aye, that we do. [Ned wasn't looking forward to spending the rest of his days locked up inside a prison cell, rotting away. No, he would get out and take the dragon queen with him. He didn't know where they could go, but they would be free of this animal cell.]

Perhaps, if you try. You have smaller hands, perhaps if you try we might have some luck.

[She nods and reaches for the belt to take from him. Daenerys mimics what he was doing before, leaning in against the bars, getting as close as possible and throwing the hooked end to the chair. The hook managed to latch onto the rung of the chair itself, and Daenerys looks up at Ned with wary eyes.]

If I pull it, the chair will topple over and it may rouse a guard...

We'll just have to take that chance, as we don't really have any other chances right now. [Ned knew this was a risk but what other choices did they have?]

[She nods to him, agreeing. With a quick tug the chair does indeed topple to the ground with a clatter. Daenerys winces slightly, bracing herself, waiting for a guard or something awful to happen.]
