TRIBUTE TO THE GODS ( an AU smut meme ) From the beginning of time, people have worshipped the gods of their choosing by offering sacrifices. The reasons - forgiveness, for good fortune, a prosperous crop season- varied, as did the mode of showing such reverence. In some cultures, a simple feast would suffice. In others, those nations more prone to violence and warfare, blood was called for. Now, the gods once again call for bodies to be offered, but no entrails will be spilt. Instead, they ask for carnal pleasure. Why they need sex, no one knows. Whether it be for entertainment, to inspire fealty, or even in order to keep their powers, they require tribute all the same. Often, "younger" gods will need more sacrifices and more followers, while more established and older gods become known for individualized sex acts and habits. For the mortals, not only is being given by your people a great honor, but being a sex tribute to the gods has its perks. Pleasing a god will win extra special blessings, and, tales say, some gods will fall in love with their partners and keep them by their side, an action that means bestowing immortality. So, where does your character fall in all this? Are they a mortal? A god? This is an AU, so all characters can be twisted into gods, somehow: ie, the Starks from GoT could be primal, barbarian winter gods while the Homestuck trolls could be elder gods from the outer rim of space. Is the sacrifice consensual, or is there a reluctant human or a god who wishes they didn't have to bother involved? Most importantly, is the sex good enough to earn benefit for all? ( HOW TO PLAY ) Comment with your character, preferences, and info. If you're AUing your character into being a god, feel free to include some details like what their element or domain would be, family matters/pantheons, if they're young/old, how they feel about the whole tribute process, what they especially like, what it's like to outlive lovers, if they have worshippers, their nature in general, and etc. Go nuts and have fun. [Just roll with them already being acquainted. Worship would feed his powers/strength and just be good for him in general. Maybe Thor spilled the beans about them needing mortals to continue their existence and she's worried for Loki?]

Loki didn't strike her as being the most popular of gods. Darcy had never given it much thought until the day Thor mentioned that their power and longevity stemmed not just from some mystic apples - which she'd like a bite of some day - but from mortal worship. It had taken her a seriously sad amount of time to wrap her mind around the concept, but once she did, alarm settled in.

What if Loki didn't have enough crazy supplicants to keep his power fully charged? What would happen if he lost every single one of them? Who would she romp around and have cat adventures with?

She perused the internet, which helpfully vomited up information about sacrifices, which she most certainly was not going to start doing. She felt stupid praying, and building an altar sounded like an awful lot of work. Finally, she simply sent him a flurry of text messages, asking him to stop by when he was free.

Izumo is among other things a thief, prostitute and a lot of other things. ]

((As a tribute, Right can either be very willing, or very reluctant. It depends upon who exactly he is being tribute to.

As a god, Right's the deity of creativity and childhood. A divine protector of children and any adult with great Imagination, Right is normally appeased with small offering for smaller tokens - some candy, for example, from a child who wishes to make friends on their first day at a new school. But the big favors would require a more intimate sacrifice, and he normally reserve those who are at least high school students or older. Such big favors normally include aid to unlock one's potential for a masterpiece, or helping a parent find and protect their lost child. He is happiest when they come willing to him for such favors; it's not fun, after all, if they're not willing to begin with.))

To say that Claudia was not pleased would be an understatement. She had no idea how the selection process was handled by Gabriel's high priests, but apparently she was the perfect sacrifice. Which meant she was now his property, for all that slavery was supposedly illegal. Apparently gods were exempt from that, like so many other things in this world.

Servants swarmed over her like ants to prepare her for the presentation, which apparently involved dressing her up like some captive princess in a manchild's fantasy, all gauze and gold and pretty much nothing to cover anything but the most essential bits. She'd be blushing if she weren't too busy fuming with the indignity and unfairness of it all.

The presentation finally came, and she did her best not to trip as the head priest led her by a set of "purely ornamental" but surprisingly strong chains up the stairs and into the temple where she was apparently to live out the remainder of her days at the beck and call of the being that dwelled within. She barely had time to glimpse him before she was expected to drop to her knees and lower her gaze to the floor while the priest handed over her chains.

Gritting her teeth, Claudia waited, wondering if the slight chill to the temple chamber was intentional, and a dozen other things that helped fuel the temper she was determined to hold onto.

Gabriel, for his part, mostly let them get on with things because it seems to make them happy. Since it's not like anyone's getting killed, he may as well. Saves everybody headaches in the long run. Well, almost everyone.

He could tell that she wasn't happy about any of this and internally sighs. Looks like he needs to tell the head priest that he'd rather have someone that was willing to do this. Again.

He accepts his end of the chains with a look to studied politeness and secretly breathes a sigh of relief when it's over. Everybody's dismissed within minutes and he looks down at Claudia. "I see someone's been watching Star Wars."

Right. Time to defuse her temper. He stands, still keeping hold of his end of the chains, mainly so he doesn't have to deal with someone deciding that he didn't like her and having a breakdown in a corner somewhere. "Come on. Let's go somewhere smaller, warmer, and where I can get these off, 'cause I'm pretty sure you're not into public bondage."

Try not to be too weirded out by the fact he wears normal clothes like any other guy when you finally get a proper look, Claudia.

Claudia blinks at the first comment, because while she definitely could be compared to Slave Princess Leia, he sure didn't sound like the slobbering monster of Jabba the Hutt. Still, anger was a lot easier to hold onto than other emotions, especially since the glimpses she was getting were of a guy who was pretty normal-looking. The priests had droned on to no end on the subject of not taking liberties with one's god.

Despite the fact that he clearly implied the chains were what he intended to remove, he would surely go further than that. She was his to enjoy, now. She hesitated, then took a deep breath. "I am the sacrifice, you may do as you please."

The words ones she had been drilled in, because one apparently did not just speak to a deity with impunity. But...

"Although I have to give you some credit. Are those really Converse?" she asked, smirking a little at the footwear.

He's much better looking than Jabba. Not to mention, doesn't have a habit of feeding people to rancors or sending bounty hunters after people. Or just generally be a terrible person.

"I don't know--are they?" he asks with an innocent tone before grinning. "Despite what people think, I don't bite. Not unless someone wants me to."

He starts walking towards a smaller door leading to a hall, fully expecting her to follow him. "Not that it's a good idea to piss me off, but I'm generally laid back. So, who picked you?"

Considering he's holding the other end of her chains, she isn't exactly going anywhere else. However, she shakes her head slightly at that grin.

"Considering what the deal is, I can't imagine it matters. You might be powerful enough to just appear however you like, and being an attractive human is just an illusion. Apparently your priests have some highly complex vetting process and I was the best candidate. Would have been nice to be asked, but that's not exactly their concern. Your well-being is, so having a sacrifice around to...whatever is required."

Claudia actually hopes the chains are all that's coming off right now. Because worship is one of the last things on her mind. One of the acolytes had let slip that she was apparently of a line that had been god-touched before, and they thought she might have traits to make her especially appealing. Or that her worship would be more potent, or something.

"Do I displease my god?"

Well, she could have stayed still and try to bring him to a halt. Or more realistically, get yanked off her feet as one of them was far stronger than the other and it's not Claudia.

"They're very picky. And sometimes neglect to ask if the sacrificee even wants this." Then he glances over at her. "Everything you see is real. And no, not you. I might be turning someone else into lawn mulch later though."

Now he opens a door and walks into a room, telekinetically closing the door behind Claudia after she's in. It looks mostly normal, aside from the over-abundance of large pillows everywhere. He looks at them and rolls his eyes. "I see they restocked the room. What is with them and pillows big enough to lay on."
