That evening, they were actually walking back to the flat after an evening spent at a nearby pub. It was a rare thing that John was able to coax Sherlock into going out and drinking with him, but he'd been lucky that day. And a drunk Sherlock, or even just a tipsy Sherlock was always an entertaining thing. Of course, John was just as entertaining, but he wouldn't admit to that. And it wasn't like they had drank a lot that evening. There had been chips as well, to help soak up the alcohol a bit, so John still felt fairly clear-headed. The drink had warmed him up just enough to feel nice as he walked beside the taller man, elbows bumping as he almost unconsciously leaned into him.

"Well, look at that," he mused, stopping on the sidewalk. Clearly they hadn't been out that long, just in time to witness the sunset over London's horizon. "Nice view, isn't it?"

"Yes," he says, automatic, which isn't like him, really. Yes it's pretty but it's a much better vantage point to be on the Eye or on a barge or atop St. Paul's...

He liked the alcohol, and he's looking at John really, more than the sunset. Yes John is beautiful, thank you very much.
