ARRANGED MARRIAGE

Marriage for love is a such a modern concept. In the past, marriage was
recognised as a social contract. Unions were entered into for many
reasons: to obtain property, to unite families, to carry on a bloodline,
et cetera. Whatever the reason, congratulations, you're getting married!

POSSIBLE REASONS FOR MARRIAGE:
① Station → You come from a royal, noble, or otherwise distinguished family who has chosen a suitable spouse for you.
② Feud → You are being married to put an end to the bitter enmity between your two families.
③ Economics → Your economic state and/or your station will improve through the union, though one of you may be marrying down.
④ Empire → You and your spouse are merging your businesses and/or property to create something more influential or profitable.
⑤ Tribute → You have been offered as a gift or appeasement, alternately you're the spoils of war.
⑥ Bloodline → Carrying on your distinguished family name has fallen to you and the equally well-bred spouse of your family's selection.
⑦ Disapproval → Your marriage has been arranged to keep you away from the person with whom you truly wish to be.

POSSIBLE SCENARIOS:
① First meeting → This is the very first time you're meeting your future spouse.
② Courtship → To get to know each other and encourage affection, your family has approved of you going on dates.
③ Engagement party → Be it a huge, formal affair or a small, intimate get together, you're celebrating (or pretending).

Clint can't believe Fury did this, can't believe that he actually agreed, for the most part.

But after what happened with Loki, Fury had told him time in Asgard would help his mind heal. What he didn't know what that he'd be married off to the god of thunder.

He couldn't back out now, and it wasn't like Thor was a bad guy, or bad looking. He didn't want to cause and intergalactic indecent.

The ceremony hadn't been as awkward or as long as he thought it would be. But what strikes him as odd are the servants that come during the party and pull him away to a large privet chamber.

He figures he's waiting for Thor, and he can't help but feel the slight rush as he makes his way toward a large balcony in the room that over looks Asgard.

When Odin told Thor that he was to be married to one from Midgard, he assumed it would be with Jane Foster. Instead, he was to marry the archer, Clint Barton.

Thor doesn't argue it, not wanting to risk Odin deciding to not align Asgard and Earth - so he went through the ceremony and they were wed.

Thor saw the servants escorting Clint out of the party, he knew where they were heading. He waited a few more minutes, and then followed. The door opened and Thor stepped in, looking around the room.

"Clint?" he said, walking across the room to the balcony, past some curtains, and there he was.

Clint turns and pushes himself up so hes sitting on the thick stone running around the balcony.

It feels awkward, it hadn't felt awkward, when they had just been out for food, after the battle.

"Hey.." He says sharp eyes moving over the prince, well his husband now, he supposes and that thought is weird to him. "Nice view..." He says a little awkwardly but he lets out a slow breath. "I didn't know when they sent me here, that I we'd be getting married." He admits licking his lips a little.

"Aye, few places in the nine realms could compare." Thor smiles at the sight of Asgard, but focuses back on Clint.

"I was made aware I was to be wed to one from Earth. I did not know it was to be you." Thor looks Clint over. "You are now my husband though, and I yours."

"Yeah the whole wedding ceremony kind of tipped me off." He laughs a little, when in doubt go with humor, right? Right. "I'm normally not the kind of guy, to marry someone I just met, normally takes a couple of dates..." He says shaking his head a little.

"So uh... they pulled me out of the party... I have a couple guesses why... this your room?"

Thor smiled at Clint, it was quite obvious.

"We are not truly united until we consummate the relationship." He held out a hand for Clint to take.

"Right..." He says taking Thor's hand and sliding off of where he is perched and lands smoothly on his feet. "This is really weird for me okay, I was told I was just coming here to make sure all of your brother's magic was out of my head..." He says licking his lips, "I didn't know I'd be getting hitched to a guy I've known like 3 weeks." He laughs a little.

He's a fan of sex though, and Thor seems like a good guy, he figures, this is one of those times when he has to in the words of Tim Gunn make it work.

"So we gonna move back to Earth after this..." He says licking his lips a little.

"I do not know what the future holds for us, though I believe you will join me, between Asgard and Earth." Thor feels guilty about that, even though he had very little (other than saying I do about Clint having to never call either place home.

He led him back into the room and towards the bed.

Clint bites his lower lip a little thinking about that for a long moment as they move over to the bed.

"But my life is there, my dog..." He lets out a slow breath and shake his head he feels lied too about why he was coming here, he shouldn't be though, because Fury.

He sits on the edge of the bed and stretches his arms above his head a little. "We just gotta figure out how to make this work." He says easily.
