I guess I'm gonna have to. [ There's no hint of worry in his tone as he states his response simply. He'll carry this night upon his shoulders without regret, and when Bookman reminds him (again) of his duty and his place (because although he may not know the details, he definitely knows that Lavi is not staying true to code), not even then will he believe that he made the wrong decision. Perhaps a bad decision, but most certainly not the wrong one. The driven force behind his actions was not due to alcohol. Admittedly, it gave him a push, yes, but it never did obscure his judgement when it came to Kanda. ]

The day after that too. [ Now a smirk is playing against his mouth, but the sincerity is there. When tomorrow comes, he would much prefer to hold the memory with close fondness than to bury it away with false repentance. Beyond that, he does not want this to be a fleeting moment. He does not want their last act of affection to this degree to end along with the course of this night. The awareness of the negative implication that could one day arise due to this pursuit leaves a heavy feeling in his chest, but, as he just said to Kanda, there really is no turning back now. As unbearibly corny as it may sound, all of his friends had managed to push themselves deep within the center of his heart, and the amount he cares for them will never dwindle. Why try to fight against his true feelings?

Kanda truly is in rare form, and his comment elicits a chuckle from Lavi. With a soft expression, he traces his thumb along Kanda's lower lip before leaning in until he's no more than an inch away. ]

You're a lot more to me than that, Yu. [ Kanda is cracking jokes, and Lavi is holding a serious tone. Who would have guessed that this could ever happen? ]
