For whatever reason, llamas (or llama-like creatures) are now on the loose, and it's up to your hapless character to chase them down. Hey, see that other character over there? Maybe they'll help! Or maybe they'll just laugh at you and film your futile llama-herding attempts with their phone. Maybe they're on the llama's side and want to help it escape to beautiful llama freedom. Who knows.

(Maybe your character is the llama. We won't judge.)

Bucky! What are you doing? [Steve arrives on the scene with a lot more questions than that but he's gotta start somewhere.]

[cryogenics]

[Bucky freezes in the middle of popping open another gate, llamas staring at him expectantly. Somehow, he knows he's in trouble. Probably.] I'm giving these animals freedom.

[pointedsouth]

[Not trouble, exactly, but Steve can't let him do this, so he stands in the way. If Bucky's really determined, he's going to have to use the gate to knock him out of the way.] Buck, these animals... They're domesticated. They don't know how to take care of themselves in the wild.

[If rural farmland near Washington D.C. counts as the wild.]

[cryogenics]

[Stop making sense, Steve. Bucky hadn't actually thought that far. He'd seen animals in cages just like he'd been locked up and he'd wanted to set them free. But if they can't protect themselves...that kind of defeats the purpose.

But it's not like there's lions out there or something, waiting to eat them. Bears? Were there bears? He frowns, glances at the llamas and back to Steve.] They're being kept in cages.

[pointedsouth]

[No can do. He's the star spangled man with a plan and right now the plan is to get Bucky to realize what he's trying to do isn't going to help these llamas. He looks like he's sorry that he has to, though. Damn, llamas have big eyes. Big, shimmering eyes... He keeps his gaze on Bucky.] Pens. They let 'em roam around outside when the weather's better.

[cryogenics]

[Bucky isn't budging. No one ever let him in an actual zoo. Where they had bigger, more dangerous animals.] Do people treat them well?

[His personal experience in cages or pens wasn't so great.]

[pointedsouth]

[Well, neither is Steve. God forbid, Steve is not wrestling crocodiles back into their enclosures. He's no Steve Irwin. He comes up short, unable to answer. He doesn't know. They look well-fed and relatively clean but looks can be deceiving. Hell, Bucky's living proof of that.] We could find out. They probably need to have some kind of permit or license to keep them. I could call in a favor, have someone come out and look.

[cryogenics]

[He frowns. That silence doesn't do anything to reassure him. Neither does the actual answer. Well, maybe it does, a little. Slowly, he eases the gate the rest of the way shut again, even if the lock's a little broken now. Oops.] You'd do that?

[pointedsouth]

[Steve wears a small, encouragingly smile.] Sure, if you want me to. ['Cause let's face it, Steve's a good man but this isn't really about animal rights activism. There is very little he wouldn't do for Bucky.]

... We gotta catch the ones you already let out first, though. [How they're gonna accomplish that remains to be seen. Steve's hands go to his hips, thinking.]

[cryogenics]

I do. [They're animals, but they're not just anything, and every living thing is important.]

He just...has no idea how to get the loose ones back. That hadn't been part of his original plan, and it's not like they can lasso them.] Bribe them with something?

[pointedsouth]

[Of course! Steve's just a little preoccupied with the fact that Bucky feels that way, enough to do something like this. The smile grows.] Then consider it done.

[His face scrunches up a bit.] You mean like with food? That might work, if we can get their attention... [They've wandered out pretty far by now, aimlessly exploring where the grass is greener~ Get it? Because it's on the other side.] Damn, we better hurry or we'll lose track of them.

[cryogenics]

Thank you. [It's strange to actually say that to anyone, but it's...a nice sort of strange. He's not used to nice things, and he's pretty sure this counts as one.]

Like with food. Otherwise, we need rope. [He might be more used to gunning down political figures and other important people, but he can track animals too if he has to.]

[pointedsouth]

[The smile threatens to split his face in two before he gets it under control. Jez, Steve, calm down, it's a simple thank you. Except it feels like progress, hope.] You're welcome, Buck.

[Bucky seems so unfazed by any supposed sense of urgency that he feels excessively nervous by comparison. Maybe it boils down to the fact that the only tracking experience he's had involved finding Nazi bases and those didn't usually move. Plus the idea was to kill anything that did, which is definitely not the objective here.]

There's gotta be one or the other around here. You wanna look in the back? And I'll check the front? [He makes a conscious effort to never give Bucky orders. They're not fighting that kind of war anymore.]

[cryogenics]

[He's not sure when the last time he made anyone smile is, and certainly not like that. It's nice. It makes him feel warm for reasons he can't figure out yet. Llamas first, confusing human emotions later.]

Alright. [This is almost like a mission, except the stakes are reversed. This time he's trying to prevent something bad from happening. He doesn't hesitate before heading around the back to start looking for rope. Or little llama harness. Or whatever people actually use to lead llamas around. Maybe a little bag of llama treats.

Eventually he comes across some rope, and a harness-a bridle?-and decides to take both of them back to where he'd last seen Steve.]

[pointedsouth]

[He follows suit, turning to head back the way he'd came, vaguely recalling the surroundings he'd rushed past, wooden barrels that had been lined up along a wall. Seems as likely a place as any to store feed.

Only they're empty. Maybe they're meant for something else? He puts the sinking suspicion aside while he continues the search, coming back to their meeting spot with an armful of dirty carrots. He'd left a couple of $20's sticking out of the holes in the ground.]

Oh, good, you found rope. This was all I could find. [For some reason, he's reminded of Coney Island when he says rather cheekily:] You ready to go bribe some llamas?

[cryogenics]

[He frowns at the armload of carrots and wants to ask where Steve got them, but then he decides it's not important. They look like llamas would be interested in them. He thinks.]

That should do. I found this, too.

[He holds up the harness, even though he's not sure what part of the llama it's supposed to go on.] Yes. You bribe, I'll catch. [Because animals will probably like Steve more than him. That and he's not so sure Steve can handle the actual catching part.]

[pointedsouth]

[He glances down at his armful, wondering what prompted the frown this time. Does Bucky think he stole these carrots? Now it's his turn to frown. He doesn't want Bucky doubting his morals for any reason, no matter how minor, but it'd be too much like making excuses if he told the truth without being asked for it.

He nods, feeling a little awkward when Bucky answers in the same flat voice.]

Okay. [It'll be better for the llamas to crowd around him. They're probably friendly enough, being domesticated, but all animals have the potential to get aggressive when competition for food is involved. He's watched enough late night programming on Animal Planet to know that much.] I'll go first. Might be easier if they don't see you coming.

[cryogenics]

[No, he just thinks Steve pulled them right out of the ground or something equally as silly because why else would they be all dirty? People are supposed to wash food items, right? So them being dirty is just...odd. At least the llamas won't care. He hopes.]

Okay. [He'll hang back then, stay out of sight while Steve lures them in. He's not sure what they're going to do if the other llamas bolt after they see one or two of their friends getting pulled away into their pen, though. One step at a time, he guesses.]
