There are plenty of memes about skipping to the good part, rushing to sex, being desperate for it, and so on. But what about taking things slow? Some people enjoy that, as well, and still others have need to keep their calm - they're inexperienced and not completely ready or they can't get knock-out, drag-down excited for reasons that can get a bit...dangerous. Or the slowness could be nothing serious; foreplay could just be the word of the day. [It was a very strange sequence of events that had brought Pek here. She'd never thought that she'd ever find herself in a relationship (she refused to think of it as being in love, even if that was what it might be and probably was) with a human girl, of all people. It had happened, though. Despite Pek's best attempts at being a brat, she and Tifa managed to thrive with one another - provide some sort of comfort, an anchor for one another while their paths crossed.

Unfortunately, as her mother often told her, all good things must come to an end. She was leaving in the next few days - she had her search to get back to and as much as she'd like to linger, as much as she wanted to stay, she couldn't. So she had to say goodbye. Saying goodbye was always hard (and personally, Pek preferred to leave like a thief in the night, because feelings were really, really hard), but Tifa was a little different. So she stuck around - and steeled herself for the inevitable.

It's with those thoughts in mind that she knocks on the door of Tifa's room, feeling a bit fidgety and nervous.

It would be the last night they'd have together for weeks, maybe months. Sarah seemed more aware that it could be their last time for good than Trip would admit. She probably knew by now that it was his way of staying positive. They were almost at three months at the SHIELD base and more than six months that they were part of each other's lives. Felix, Kira and Sarah were all part of the base in one capacity or another.

Twice the trio tried to leave and be on their own when cornered by Hydra. Sarah had been able to fend off the attempted abductions long enough for help to arrive. The Dyad Institute had fallen under Hydra. Scientists were more than interested in Kira. Coulson offered protection, swearing that the little girl would not spend her life as an experiment. Sarah had no idea how close to home that topic hit for SHIELD's most recently appointed director.

Kira was tutored by Fitz and Simmons so she wouldn't get behind in her studies. Mack helped create her a real bedroom within the military compound. There weren't other kids but even May got in the action of chaperoning outings that took Kira to playgrounds and museums to socialize with other children. It might not have been the ideal life for an eight year old but she was safe which seemed to appease her mother.

"Kira has a couple things for you when you see her tomorrow. She made me a promise that she wouldn't let you cheat and open them before I go. And I promised to pick up where we left off on swimming lessons the next time I see her," Antoine uttered upon seeing Sarah in his room after entering. He had wondered where she had been but realized he should have known once in his room.

Parting was nothing to be happy about, Trip recognized that. It wasn't fair to have made himself a fixture in her life then be the one to leave after she had finally agreed to remain part of his. Not that they broke up when Sarah tried leaving SHIELD the two times before, he had mostly been worried about their safety--rightfully so after what brought them back. Now here he was having to infiltrate another base and be tasked with preparing it for SHIELD operations.

What should have been an honor had become a hardship. Coulson emphasized that all SHIELD's best agents would have to do their part and Trip would be relieved for at least a few days as soon as possible but the reality was they were headed for the unknown. Another base was crucial to get ahead. However, Avengers were already alerted of the mission due to how dangerous a task it was. Sarah had every right to be unhappy under the circumstances.
