The Superhero AU Meme

To the rescue!

 

It's time to save the day! Or, perhaps, you're the one ruining it. Or, maybe you're just caught up in the chaos.
 

Put down which roles and character types you're looking to play, if your character already fits into one or more of the categories, feel free to leave them there or switch them to something different. 

 

Cast of characters:

1. Hero - You're here to save the day, be it by small acts, like saving kittens from trees, or big ones, like saving the city.

2. Villain - You've got plans, some big, some small. Maybe you just want to rob banks or maybe you want to conquer the city.

3. Neutral - You've got powers, but you don't do anything with them but make your life a little easier. Maybe you'll side with someone one day, but for now, you're living your own life.

4. Civilian - You don't have any powers and you're caught up in this mess. Maybe you're an innocent bystander or maybe you've given powers to the heroes and/or villains.


Types of heroes (or villains):

1. Self-made hero - Using your money and access to technology (or someone else's), you've equipped yourself with everything you need to save the day.

2. Heroes are born - You were born with the powers you have, maybe they've been present since day one or maybe they showed themselves at a later age. No matter what, you've been gifted with these powers.

3. Heroes are made - Maybe there was an accident or maybe you were experimenting on yourself (or someone else), but now you're different from what you used to be. Are your new powers a blessing or a curse?

4. Other - Does your character's heroic (or villainous) origin story involve something not listed above?

[Baymax can fall into any role, as a hero, neutral, or civilian, he would help heal people that got injured, as a hero, he'd help stop the bad guys, and as a villian, he could be a minion.

Since he's a robot, he fits in all of the character types, he was made to heal people, but he's also been upgraded beyond his normal capacities in order to have a more dynamic role.

I'm open to any and all options, canon or AU scenarios, and pretty much any shenanigans or adventures you want your characters to get into with Baymax.]

[Alistair winced, dodging back as the demon fell and, as usual, exploded after it died. It was just enough to keep him out of the worst of it, but there was a scorch that he was pretty sure turned the ends of his hair black.]

Helena Crawford ((OC))

[Already sort of fits the bill. Fights (mostly for her life) against the ever-present threat of extradimensional horrors trying to use her and her alien hitchhiker to break into our world completely. Also deals with other Lovecraftian type terrors and generally spooky shit.

... Also lives as a cowardly hobo terrified of anything that sneezes too loudly near her. It comes with the whole "a giant shambling monster could lunge out of the darkness at you at any time" thing. The fact that most people can't see that particular brand of monster makes her worry for her sanity, but there's no shortage of not-invisible monsters of various varieties.

Civilians might meet her as she's tearing ass trying to outrun some invisible dinosaur-sized shambler dragging its way across a city street, and maybe if you're lucky she'll at least push you out of the way first, or maybe you'll even get to see her stab it to death with a symbiont of questionable sentience. Probably the first one though.]

Hiro Hamada | Big Hero 6 (Villain AU)

[Both Hiro and Baymax have come a long way from the teen and robot becoming home-made superheroes in order to stop the man who had caused Tadashi's death.

They had been wrapped up in danger and mystery, both of them completely out of their element, but somehow managing to come out on top.

Things had gone well, until that fateful day on the island when the intrigue came to a sudden end.

Face with his brother's killer, who had callously dismissed Tadashi's death, Hiro had made a decision. Pulling the green chip out and casting it aside, he had set a mindless Baymax on Callaghan.

There had been a struggle, but it was mostly on the part of Hiro's friends as they tried in vain to stop the automaton from its command to kill the Yokai.

After several rocket fists, partial building collapse, and a final punch, the remains of Robert Callaghan, esteemed robotics professor, were barely recognizable as such. He was a man who had died twice, and this time, there was going to be no surprise reappearance.

The rest of the team had suffered various injuries as Baymax had coldly tossed them out of the way. Every time they attempted to stop him, he threw them aside. No one could stop him, he only ceased his rampage when there were no longer any signs of life from Callaghan.

When his command had been completed in full, Baymax had turned to Hiro for his next order. It didn't take long for the boy to clamber on his back and order him to flee.

Baymax had blasted out of the facility on the island and sped away, putting the murder behind them.

Once a secluded place had been found, Baymax was ordered to land there. They stayed there for a while, making plans. There were bad people out there like Robert Callaghan, people who hurt other people, killed them like Tadashi in order to further whatever plans they had.

It was time to hurt them back.]

[Teenage delinquent by day, skull masked dispenser of fatal justice by night, Feda is a hero according to himself and a well intentioned violent criminal to everyone else. His brutal methods and enjoyment of them give him a well deserved bad reputation amongst heroes and villains alike.

He chose the name 'Fader' because he figures no one would guess someone would use a homophone of their own name as an alias.]

Hank Pym (Ant Man) | Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes

[Pym can fill a variety of roles in this sort of thing. As a hero, he wants to do good, but since he's generally pacifistic, his first instinct would be trying to talk things out with villains with violence being a last resort. As you could imagine, this doesn't make him the most effective super-hero, but he wants to help super-villains instead of just beating them up and throwing them in jail.

When the violence of that lifestyle becomes too much, Hank tends to go back to his labs, which would where he'd be found as a civilian. Given that he's one of the world's leading biochemists with a rather significant knowledge of robotics, his lab would probably be a target for villains, and heroes might go to him for help if his knowledge is required.

While it never really comes up in canon, the possibility of him becoming a villain seems to be present, as indicated by Ultron's shift from peaceful lab assistant to genocidal robot. If he is a villain, he's probably convinced himself that whatever extreme thing that he's trying to do will bring about peace, and that the cost is worth it.

I'm open to pretty much anything. For those not familiar with the character, (since his portrayal in this seems to be considerably different than the comics version of the character) he's generally a pacifist who prefers being in his lab over being a superhero, though he sticks with the superheroics because he feels that he can help a lot of people (whether it's saving civilians or convincing villains to use their powers/knowledge for good) that way. He gained the ability to alter his size (while maintaining his strength when shrunk, or multiplying it when he grows) as a result of discovering a subatomic particle, and he can control various types of insects with his cybernetic helmet.]
