Just like the change of the seasons, it's time for you to become an adult - it's your spring awakening, where urges and desires in both body and mind are new. Just a few years ago, you never felt like this, especially not towards your friends and others around you. Unfortunately, the land and time you live in allows no exploration of these burgeoning new feelings. It's the 19th century, known for its overall puritanical repression, and it's all you've known. The adults in your life have taken these views to heart, and they're no use in this tumultuous period of youth. If they knew what you were thinking about, what you were feeling...you'd be done for! So, what can you do? Will you be curious about your newfound needs or ignore them and treat them with disdain just like the elders? Surely, no matter how much you want to know what all this means, you can't indulge! If you do, however, at least it's a fleeting sin. This will not stain your soul or ruin your life forever. Of course, do you really know the consequences? HOW TO PLAY This meme is based on the musical Spring Awakening, which is itself based on a German play from the turn of the century. However, you don't have to know the canon at all. The tl;dr version is old timey kids dealing with modern problems like lust and love and coming into their own. Comment with your character and preferences. You might also want to include what your character would be like in this world. Feel free to age them down, AU, whatever you'd like! The musical this is based off has triggering material such as underage sexuality, abuse, and all manner of other not so nice things. Tread lightly. [They've been friends since childhood, they've always been able to tell each other anything, but they're not children anymore. And Ricken's never been more aware of this as they crawl into the hayloft, seeking shelter from the rain.

Namine's so pretty...no, she was pretty back then but now she's beautiful. Being this close to her makes him think those dreaded impure thoughts, always unwanted but of course they never listen when he tries to tell them to go away. Sometimes he wants to just let go, see if she wants to let go...of course, he's not going to know if she's having the same thoughts. It's not proper to talk about things like that.

It's even less proper to act on them.]

[Namine giggles softly as they find shelter within the loft. The sound of the rain beats heavily on the roof with no chance to letting up any time soon. She tugs at her long blonde hair making sure it hadn't gotten wet from their epic escape from the down pour.]

Ricken do you hear that?

[There is a soft rumble of thunder in the distance and Namine feels her heart jump in her chest. She lightly tugs on Rickens shirt moving closer to him only to realize that they were lying very close to each other on the loft. Her cheeks flush for a moment and she tries to push the improper thoughts from her mind.]

[On the surface she's everything a proper lady should be. Quiet, polite, smart, hardworking, doesn't dally about with the boys in suggestive ways. She's never once asked the forbidden sex questions girls her age are known to, making it much easier for her father to ignore her and her grandfather to rest easily.

But it doesn't mean she's not thinking about them. She has those dirty desires, and worse? They happen every time she gets a little too close to a certain blonde. Usagi is so pretty and gentle and childlike, the paragon of purity a girl should be.

And that's what stirs those desires. It's bad enough to be thinking those thoughts, but about another girl? It's a sickness, abnormal, disgusting, completely unnatural. It's asking to be sent to hell before you die.

[ Timothy waits in his study, sitting alone as he gazes out the window. The sun is setting, its light touching everything that belongs to the Wayne fortune. With both Bruce and Alfred away on business, the entire estate is in Timothy's care. So what is he waiting for? A person, perhaps? A feeling? Or could he be waiting for an epiphany? Because he finds himself at a loss, confused by his own emotions. Bruce was unafraid to share some literature with him, once - literature that would enlighten him about certain feelings... and sensations. What else was a father to do for a curious son?

Still, this is only one thing out of countless others that haunt him. Things he'd bury; things he'd rather sever himself from, hoping they get lost in the vast and empty halls of the manor. Timothy is often so keen to dwell on these things, but his solemn trance is interrupted by some knocking on the door. He heads to the foyer to answer, noticing a familiar face as he grants them entry. A dear friend, in fact, and perhaps more. Still, for her to show up at this hour? Why? ]

Rapunzel... it's good to see you, really, but it's almost sundown.

[ As happy as it would make him to spend more time with her, he has to wonder. ]

[the girl waiting at the door is smiling brightly. perhaps too brightly, as though the smile were forced. she's a strange thing, kind of gawky, with the longest hair out of anyone in her class, maybe even the whole school. right now, it is tied up in braids to keep it from touching the floor. before joining a public school, Rapunzel had been home-schooled, and had lived an incredibly sheltered life. it was only recently, within the past few years, or so, that she was just starting to come into her own. she'd insisted upon going to school when she was 16 so that she could make friends. and while her mother had been upset, she eventually relented because Rapunzel wouldn't stop going on about it.

one of the first people Rapunzel met when she started was Tim. he had been so kind and helpful to her, when she was an outcast. she cared about him, trusted him more than anyone. that was why she was here now, on his doorstep]

Yeeeeah, sorry! [she apologizes. she's holding something... a plate of cookies, apparently. there are quite a few of them] I was just in the neighborhood, doing a little window shopping and... You know! [window shopping with a plate of cookies...]

His distance from others was by design, however - a defense mechanism to prevent himself from getting hurt. Yet something about Rapunzel allays those fears. To say the least, her presence is healing. Makes him whole. But there's no way in hell he'd admit it just yet. ]

[ He invites her into his home, shutting the door behind her as he leads her down the foyer. ]

Well, I hope you weren't looking for any cookies, then. The ones you make are the best.

[ They stop at one of the lounges, where he encourages her to make herself comfortable. ]
