[ Many years ago, when Enjolras had been but a child he had believed that dragons were monsters, to be feared and slaughtered. He played the valiant role of knight, and imagined himself cutting off the heads of the greatest serpents that had ever roamed the Earth; contributing to the salvation of mankind, and the defeat of an ageless evil. It was a propaganda that Enjolras had bought into for far too long, but he had learned.

He remembered the first real dragon he had ever seen. Living, breathing, a great dappled sandy gold drake with flecks of red and orange running through her scales. Her eyes had been so large, so wide- and afraid. The scream she had made as she had been executed for passing too close to 'human' land haunted Enjolras. Though she had not spoke, Enjolras had taken one look into her great yellow eyes and he had known. They were sentient, they understood fear, and love, and very likely so much more than this as well.

He had stayed long into the night, watching as they had harvested the scales from her hide, the meat from her bones. Her long, elegant teeth they pulled from her jaw, one by one. When they had taken what they deemed of use, they had simply gathered up what remained, and thrown it away.

Like she had been garbage, and not something utterly magnificent.

It had changed Enjolras' entire future, irrevocably.

Now, he was the face of dragon rights activism. Now he campaigned, fought tooth and nail to make sport hunting illegal. They were creatures hunted to near extinction, many species gone forever. The great sea dragons of china and Japan had not been seen in years. Enjolras prayed that there still remained a colony in hiding- but even he knew that the chances were not good. The white siberian wyverns too were on the brink, and so, so many more. Too many.

It spun again around Enjolras' thoughts as he stepped into the rooftop lodging. Not so much a stable as a titanium falsified greenhouse of sorts. Building lodgings out of wood and mortar for dragons was a foolish practice indeed. No dragon was meant to be kept in cages, but some dragons chose their own domestication... Such was the case with Patria.

She had come to him, on- of all things- a dark and stormy night. Had been just a young thing then, perhaps just a year or two. He had come home from an exhausting afternoon of classes and meetings and campaigning for a bill to legalize clutch destruction, and had found her curled around his radiator, her jaw resting on the window sill, steam rising slowly from her dappled red and yellow nose. She'd taken one look at him with her slitted red eye, sniffed dismissively, and wound herself into his lap instead. The size of a large dog, he hadn't found a reason to argue- and she had been with him, ever since. Of course, she'd grown quite a bit since then, and although Enjolras had no doubt that she would have preferred to stay with him in his home regardless of the spatial sense it made, eventually he had made her see reason to at least sleeping here upon his roof, instead of trying to fit her bulk into his home. Patria at least, was no longer housed alone, and even once he'd entered he found her casting a dismissive wing towards the small, brightly coloured bird-like dragon Courfeyrac called his own. ]

He'd wondered what Saft's world was like. Finally getting the time to go and see for himself had made him probably pretty darn annoying to anyone who was around him. He'd been literally quaking with excitement up until the portal opened. Particularly since he'd basically begged and bribed Azmuth to also unlock a new alien to go along with the visit. He owed the Galvan a huge favor along with grasshopper smoothies for a solid month, but this was going to be so worth it.

Actually setting foot on her world for the first time, he looked around, grin a mile wide. Wow, everything was already way different here. Everything seemed so much bigger.

Takeru wasn't a dragon to upset or anger. Being a water dragon he could cause a lot of trouble while angered. Unfortunately some fool had upset him and the bay that usually were calm and perfect for fishing was right now a death trap for any that dared setting their foot in the water. The waves stood high and when he did not upset the waters in that way, he created powerful maelstroms instead. Nothing seemed to calm him down. No matter how much the villagers that lived by the bay prayed for him to calm himself and no matter what gifts they brought in an attempt to appease his anger.

Alright. This may be slightly, more or less, entirely his fault. He's big enough to admit that. There's really no other way to get around it, really. How else would a twenty-three foot long flying reptile find itself causing chaos and destruction through the Welsh countryside?

He was not, however, big enough to admit when he needed help. What was a little dragon to a two-thousand-some-odd year old Time Lord? Besides, he's sure the Welsh don't even notice it. They've got so many damned sheep, what's one or two or a few dozen missing?

The Doctor absolutely, one-hundred percent had this situation under control.

Which is exactly what he would tell Clara if she ever turned on the news and saw the raging fires spreading across southern Wales.

The reality of the situation was that the Doctor was currently rigging together something that resembled a dragon-sized mouse trap. He'd deny the similarities to his last breath, likely, and claim it to be much, much more complicated than all that -- but strip away all the blinking lights, electronic hums, and ominous beeping.. and you had a giant mouse trap.

Clearly this situation was well in hand.
