The Coffee-Shop Meme
COFFEE SHOP MEET & GREET
![]() |
An old and tired setting, but a fun one! Your character is inside a coffee shop, they could be anywhere in the known (or unknown!) universe(s). Start with a basic trope! RULES • Leave a comment with your character's name and fandom. • RNG for a number between 1-10 to get your scenario/prompt. Mix and match! • Have fun! |
SCENARIOS & PROMPTS MIX & MATCH AS MANY AS YOU LIKE! 001 LONER CUSTOMER | Who is that cutie sitting all by themselves? You can't resist saying Hi. 002 DAT BARISTA | Did you look up and suddenly see them over the cinnamon? Are they the reason you come back every single day? Is it a hot newbie screwing up your drink? Tap that. 003 RAINING & POURING | The downpour is horrendous! Quick, into the coffee shop where that strangely attractive person is and oh no they're hot. Don't drip on them, be cool! Be cool! 004 BOOKWORM | Maybe that person isn't your type at all, you're just fascinated by the book they're reading. Strike up a conversation! Make a new friend! 005 SPILLAGES | You knock into the person you tag! Are they covered in hot scalding coffee now? Are you? Is EVERYONE? 006 SUMMER BERRIES | It's the middle of summer and boiling. People are half-dressed and sipping ice-cold fruit shakers, requesting ice to put on their body, sitting on tables in hotpants ... Yes, okay, this is Very Distracting. 007 QUEUE-JUMPING SATAN | You thought you could get away with it at lunch-hour, but you didn't count on them. PS, you're an asshole for trying. 008 MANAGEMENT & SOULCRUSHED | You either hired them and now it's time to ask that babe out or you're a recent employee and the boss has been making eyes at you. 009 LAPTOP HIPSTER | A prompt in and of itself. 010 WILD CARD | Your call. [ He sips his coffee, shaking his head. ]
I guess it goes to show you, you never really know a person. I knew the guy was an ass. I didn't know he was some creepy body parts collector on top of it.

[Ah, Eddie's approach to making friends--stalking people and gradually wearing them down.]

I guess that works. But I'm not sure Guerra was the kind of guy who would answer a lot of questions. He seemed to hate having anything questioned.

[ He leans back in his chair slightly, reaching for his coffee. ] Especially people in power. And when they're insecure in it--that's the kind of behavior you get. I saw it a lot in the Army.

Not that different from being on the force. Similar structure, similar politics.
...I had more people shooting at me in the Army.

...Thanks, Ed. And yeah, so far, so good. This city's gone to hell in a lot of ways but at least I'm not getting shot at as much here as I was then.

I'm just doing my job. And doing right by the people of this city. They rely on us. Trust us. We need to live up to that.
But it's nice to hear someone else thinks that's a worthwhile goal.
