It was painfully obvious Trip's arms weren't around her form. Only one was, the other was reaching for the gun he had, preparing to shoot if he had to. She wanted a welcoming embrace, but knew she wouldn't receive as much because of her decision to leave. Her decision to tear the man in two and leave him believing she and their child were dead. Yes, she didn't plan out everything right, but she had an opportunity to make their lives better and took it. Would he not have done the same if the roles were reversed?
There was a change in the man who managed to steal her heart. His eyes were tired, possibly from sleepless nights or from searching for her. She wished she could take that pain, all that heartache away. For the first time since she began her mission, she questioned it. Was their bond damaged beyond all repair? Would he no longer want to be part of her life? ...Did he love her anymore? She didn't let the thoughts or worries onto her face. No, she had to be strong and pretend she had things together.
His mission was still at hand, which meant they needed to part. She understood that. He couldn't let anyone know she was alive, at least not over their current line of communication. One never knew who was listening in on either side. Sarah pulled back, but kept her hand in his.
"Yeah, I'm at the hotel on 34th and Haynes. Floor 5, room 503." She reached into her pocket to give him the spare card key.
"I'll be waiting for you there." There was no need to tell him to come alone. He wouldn't fill in the rest of his team until he had answers, then he'd let Coulson in and explain things. Sarah squeezed his hand before pulling away and leaving him to walk back alone.
The hotel was similar to the condo they shared back in Miami, near the beach with a beautiful view of the ocean. The place seemed like it would be one the tourists flocked too, which was true. There were families or couples waiting around in the grand lobby, either checking in or leaving for back home. Sarah was waiting on the bed, looking over the files of herself that she was able to steal before she destroyed the HYDRA base. A lot of things were blacked out, but it was as close to a medical record she had. If anything went wrong with her or her child, they had at least something to look at.
Sarah wasn't sure how long it would take until Trip arrived, but she wouldn't leave. She had food to last her for another two days if he didn't show up tonight. Hopefully he would.
