HOW IT WORKS
- Your video game characters are now meta versions of themselves. How this effects their personality is up to you, but they're essentially now from an arcade version of their game and interact in this post 'off screen' once the arcade's closed and their game isn't playing.
- Your non video game characters can come from an arcade game you just make up. (Example: Supernatural could be a shoot-em-up demon killing game.)
- Feel free to go game jump and have fun! Remember, you don't get 1ups in games that aren't yours, so stay safe!

[Today was pretty exhausting. A bunch of kids were stuck on Area 2 for hours, as since he was the main playable character for that, it meant repeatedly running into ghosts, stupidly using the wrong item, and getting crushed by the same rock. Was it honestly that funny for him to run into the same deadly spot on purpose?

So he takes a seat in Game Central Station while he relaxes before heading off somewhere to grab a bite to eat. Maybe someone will spot him and they can hang out together.]

[Of course it existed more then one Legend of Zelda game in the arcade and as the arcade closed down one shadowy figure sneaked away from his own game over to another. Seriously, Shadow loved messing with all of the Links and Zeldas except those he had to deal with on a daily basis. It wasn't even the first time he made his way over to Wind Waker.]

[You know what the greatest thing is about modern arcades, at least according to Rita Mordio? Internet-connected machines. Because when the day's done and no one's watching, a few pieces of equipment from various games can make for a very nice internet cafe of sorts, in one of the shop stalls of Game Central Station. On the Internet, no one cares if you're a character in a video game in some arcade in Flyover Country, USA. You can just read about everything. Which is what she's doing, coffee in one hand and mouse in the other.] [As always. Clearly, there is opportunity here.]

[It was common for bad guys in the arcade to get little respect due to their reputation. Betrayus had the opposite problem. For some reason even Inky, Blinky, Pinky and Clyde from the original Pac-Man were taken more seriously as villains than he was. Maybe it was because they had 30 years more experience, but unlike the members of Bad Anon he didn't want to be liked, he wanted to be feared. Apparently slaughtering millions in a massive rebellion, being executed for your war crimes, then coming back as a vengeful spirit (at least as far as your in-game backstory) isn't enough to achieve that when you're an overdramatic, excitable nerd.

So what better way to gain some infamy than going around intimidating heroes? Well, heroes or just anyone he can find. As long as they're fleeing in terror or begging for mercy he's not that picky. This little girl with robot arms, who he spots milling around Game Central Station after hours, looks easy enough to scare, so he figures he'll start with her... by suddenly floating up out of the ground in front of Peacock, attempting to spook her while she's minding her own business. Also, he's on fire.]

['tis rough being the main character and face of a company. I mean, does anyone ever remember that SEGA's developed and produced other IPs other than Sonic?

No.

A little frustrating, but that's what made the Smash Tourney so great. Everyone had time to get together and assault everyone they've ever known and loved-- work out the frustrations of being in the Video Game industry. But being able to wind down afterwards was great too. Which included sometimes getting drinks with former rivals]

...Whereas I am powerless to do anything but endure every conceivable wretched plot twist from one timeline to the next...! Rarely does anyone wish to grant me a story in which my lord does not die, or I am not betrayed countless times! I have done nothing to deserve such miserable plots!

[There is probably a question in here like "how do I make the higher-ups to write me a happy end for a change, or at least retcon the really depressing stuff", but it's kind of lost amongst the grumbling.]

[There were pros and cons to having your game be one of the most popular in the arcade. The pros, of course, included having tons of players constantly putting quarters into your addicting crunchy action rogue-like. The cons, meanwhile, consisted of very little downtime during the arcade's business hours and a whole lot of repeated, exhausting deaths.

Unless you were Y.V., then there was only pros, mainly for two reasons: One, he never got tired of shooting things, ever. And two, he couldn't die. He was the only character in the game who never died and regenerated, instead basically getting "knocked out" upon a Game Over. Damn was it good to be a god.
Still, even though he was always the one that most looked forward to the arcade opening again the next morning, that didn't mean he didn't enjoy a cold one at Tapper's after hours. It only meant he was typically a bit more energetic than his drinking buddy.]

[Being a secret character in a newly-imported fighting game is hard. He doesn't get to see much action at all until he's unlocked, and who knows how long that'll take. He's gotta stay in shape for when he does fight, though, so once closing time hits, here Minato is, hoping to get some exercise.]
