Ball of sunshine Chalcedony is standing as far from the dance floor as possible to ensure no unnecessary contact comes his way. Dressed up in a suit fitting of the environment, the knight looks charming. Aside from the discomfort on his face. This... this is not his type of situation.

He'd been dragged here for one reason or another, however participating will not be happening. Sure, he may stick out like a sore thumb among the happy couples but being different has never bothered him before. Not that he will refuse a dance if asked. ...Chal purposely scoots further away at the thought. Refusal is only impolite if asked. If no one asks then there's no problem!!]

He had spent the evening going through another never ending supply of miracle wine and absurd little versions of philosophical talks with his demonic friend.

It had come to the point in the evening where they had run out of the usual things to talk about, and they were grasping at things to say until it was time to sober up.]

[It seemed to Tauriel that winter had been growing longer and longer each time it came to pass as of late, but she would be hard-pressed to think of a harder winter in her living memory than that which passed after the slaying of Smaug the dragon and the Battle of the Five Armies. Perhaps it was the long, cold hours spent sifting through the dead on the battlefield, collecting fallen comrades and bringing them home for a proper burial, disposing of the foul corpses of orcs and goblins and bats alike, huge towers of smoke rising from the desolation to rival those coming from the dwarven forges deep inside the mountain, perhaps it was simply that the expanse between mountain and forest seemed even larger than before, she does now know.

But, like all winters, it drew slowly to an end, and before long, spring had come upon Middle Earth once more.

The city of Dale had started rebuilding, many of the people of Laketown deciding to rebuild their lives on solid ground again, and trade routes between the elves, the dwarves, and the humans were being opened anew. Birds returned to the forest, and tender green shoots sprung up out of once-barren ground. It was time to celebrate.

Elves are a stately people, to whom time holds little meaning, and so they are not overly likely to indulge in vigorous activity, even during times of celebration. Tauriel, however, happily indulged in the rollicking dances of men and dwarves, allowing herself to be dragged into the fray of merrymakers, tiny flowers woven in her hair and a dress of pale yellow silk swirling about her legs as she laughed and swung from one partner to the next.

But even the elves grow tired, and after a few good rounds of clapping and stomping dances that require even her to be fleet on her feet, she has admitted defeat and slipped off the dance floor. A draught of ale has done wonders to revive her constitution, and she has started to idly watch the dance floor again, contemplating joining the throng once more. But it is a slow song, now, something much more simple and reserved than before, and she has no partner with which to dance. So she remains on the fringes, holding her flagon, and simply watches.]
