Never Forget You
![]() Whenever you try to remember what you know should be with you always, your past, you can't. Your mind takes you to a brick wall, even sometimes when you want to recall simple things. What happened to you and made you this way isn't exactly clear, yet what you've lost is. Needless to say, your frustration is understandable. You may want to lash out...or worse yet, retreat into yourself when you're confronted with what you can't comprehend. Except with one person. They're the only one who's face you'll always know and they're here to help you out. For that, you feel a sense of attachment and perhaps even loyalty towards them. Whether they're the one part you do remember from your old life or they found you, didn't know you, but decided to help you anyway. You can never forget them - and, for some reason you can't figure out, your heart won't

Which was even more interesting: despite her extensive database and her vast knowledge, even after half a year she had still not managed to find anything about the young man that was under her care. He was akin to an artifact that had been dug up from the depths of the earth: there were so many questions and no answers. Carmen was certain that Chikage must have been racking through his own brain for answers, must have been attempting to seek out his past himself. Carmen loved knowledge. And when she found the answers, she'd always leave clues for others to find the answer as well.
There would be no clues left for Chikage. Oh, it was fine if she found out everything about him... but like all the treasures she stole, she kept them to herself. She wanted to keep Chikage to herself... and Carmen wasn't sure if those feelings were platonic or romantic in nature. That put her in an odd bind... Chikage was decently younger than her, and Carmen found herself straddling the line of the mommy dance and the flirtatious older woman. Which was the real Carmen?
At the moment, she needed to put both personas aside. They were about to embark on their heist of England's Crown Jewels. Carmen had been interested in them after reading an article in the news that a guard had attempted to lift them, but was unable to get away with the crime, even after he'd been planning the theft for five years. All that knowledge of the layout, the shift schedule for the guards, the type of combat they used... and he still couldn't do it. Besides; if the castle was allowing insiders that had the idea to steal from them, they weren't taking very good care of their belongings.
"They look like they could use a shine," She had stated a week ago. "Don't you agree, Chikage?"
Now, it was the time to strike. It was two-twenty seven am, and Carmen, Chikage, and a small handful of V.I.L.E henchmen were five minutes away from the royal palace by car. Carmen ans Chikage were in the back seat.
The lady in red looked to Chikage.
"You remember the plan, don't you?" She asked him, and she opened the door to the car. They would use her grappling gun to launch themselves to the third floor, and proceed from there. "Don't leave my side, Chikage."

While he never said as much he shared Carmen's sentiment. He wasn't sure if he would of survived without her. Not being able to prove his identity at all he found it hard to procure a job so he had to steal for his daily bread. Moreso than that was the feeling of despair he had. There was nothing to anchor him to this world and make him feel like he belonged. That is until Carmen showed up. When she brought him into her life of crime it gave him purpose. In truth he could never truly thank her enough for it. This hidden gratitude made him quickly develop a protectiveness for Carmen.
His thoughts on her otherwise were as confused as her own. Was she a mother figure? A flirtatious friend? or something else entirely? No matter what the case he did know one thing, he would see to it that she never came to harm.
Chikage was dressed in all black himself. A suit to be precise with the only hint of color being a red tie. He insisted on the black to keep himself as hidden as possible, but Carmen had convinced him to put in some amount of flair. On his back were two wooden training swords. They had found he had quite the knack for these and decided it was best to go with what his muscles remembered even when he didn't fully. They would be enough to knock out a guard without doing serious damage to them.
He turned his attention from their target just miles off to Carmen. "Of course. Reach the third floor, go through the opening in the guards. You get the jewels and I make sure that any guards that break formation don't alert the others." It sounded simple, but their window of opportunity was short. It would be a thrilling race against the clock even if everything goes as planned.
He followed Carmen's lead wrapping an arm firmly around her middle, to prepare for her using the grappling gun of course. "I won't leave you." He sounded a little more grave than he should with that comment. It held quite a bit more meaning than a simple heist.
no subject
They halted at the top. Carmen's hand gripped the gun tightly, making sure not to let go.
"You first," She stated, looking up to the window.
no subject
When they arrived at the third floor it might of taken him a moment or two longer than necessary for Chikage to let go of her. When he did though he was all business already looking through the window before she said anything.
Once Carmen said that he should go first Chikage nodded and climbed in through the window without even a second thought.
There would be a few tense moments where Carmen wouldn't see or hear from Chikage. He was waiting to be sure that none of the guards broke patrol. As far as their sources said no one should be in this room for quite some time.
Once their entry seemed to check out he would wave his hand out the window indicating Carmen could follow.

Carmen sashayed her way into the room, holstering the grappling gun. She adjusted her black leather gloves idly, looking around the room.
"It's not very impressive, for a place mean to hold such grand finery," She commented, and her blue eyes looked to Chikage. She reached out, her fingers delicately adjusting his tie.
"Lets get started, shall we?"
no subject
Thankfully Chikage shook off those feelings easily enough when it came to getting something done.
"It really isn't. You would think they would put more care into something like this." Even after the attempted robbery by one of their own staff they barely beefed up security. "It will by far be more safe in your collection."
"Yes let's go." With that he was leading the way, but his eyes always glanced back to be sure Carmen was safely behind him. Even though he knew Carmen could take care of herself he wasn't about to lose sight of her for more than a few moments at a time.
no subject
The next room had cameras, as Carmen was expecting. Before they reached the next point she checked in to see if the feed had been disturbed.
"This is it, Chikage," She stated. She was already pulling off one of her gloves to reveal a red ruby ring; a laser she planned on using to cut through the glass. "There are going to be plenty of guards here. Do your best."
They didn't have to open the door. One guard opened it to come and patrol the room. He was caught off guard by the appearance of a young man in a suit and--
"I-its Carmen Sandiego!" He exclaimed, hand scrambling for his walkie-talkie.
no subject
He was far less surprised than the guard. He moved in quickly, swords being brought down to knock the man unconscious as quickly and painlessly as possible. He wanted to leave these guards with nothing more than a headache if he could help it.
It amazed him how easy this was for him. How even with no memory of his actual training in the art of sword play how they still felt like an extension of his arms.
Not wanting any guards within earshot to have time to call for reinforcements Chikage ran into the room and launched himself at the nearest guard. Now it would be a matter of the guards protecting their co-workers.
Chikage was fine with juggling between three or so of these guards like they had planned. Just as long as they focused all solely on him Chikage was sure they couldn't pull any surprises that would help them last longer than a few extra moments.
no subject
Carmen lifted her hand, laser shooting from the ring and cutting through the glass as if it were butter. She made a large, round circle to bust in through, popping the glass out and leaning it against the case. Just as she did, from another window a henchman busted through, crawling into the room from a rope.
She looked to Chikage to be sure he was okay, before handing off several of the items to the Henchman.
"Transfer them to the one outside. Don't let anything happen to them," She ordered firmly. The henchman nodded, hurrying to the window to drop them down to the man waiting at ground level.
One of the Royal Guards managed to break away from the group... but instead of leaving to warn others, he instead went straight for the grand prize: Carmen Sandiego. He lifted his gun, firing a shot at her. The sound of a bullet whizzing through the air was heard. Carmen slammed her back against a wall to avoid it.
no subject
He was on the final one he had seen when he heard that gun shot. Chikage turned immediately to the source of the noise. Without hesitation he ran full speed at the guard. He didn't intend to let him get another shot at Carmen.
The startled guard managed to get a shot into Chikage's shoulder as he fired in reflex, but Chikage ignored the pain to knock this guard out as well.
When he was sure all the guards present were knocked out this time and Henchmen were on their way he made his way over to Carmen. "Are you alright?" He asked. He hadn't seen if the shot had hit at all or not. While he knew for sure he now had a hole in his shoulder he was far more concerned with Carmen's well-being.
no subject
"I'm fine," She stated, and she rested her hand on Chikage's elbow, holding him still. She looked to the henchmen, who were getting out the last pieces of the collection. "That should be it."
Carmen looked to Chikage. "...You did well. Lets get out of here." She started pulling him to the window, looking down at the rope. With his shoulder as it was, there was no way he would be able to climb that without further hurting himself. She looked to him.
"Do you think you can hold onto my neck, Chikage?"
no subject
It was a good thing Carmen was pulling him along. His mind was everywhere at once. Both at the situation that nearly led to Carmen having a new hole in her and making sure they weren't about to be ambushed.
He only seemed to come back to Earth at her request. "Y-yeah. Sure." He pressed in close. Not even hesitating this time to bring in that contact. Chikage wrapped his good arm around Carmen's neck, having some idea of what she was going to do to get them out of here.
no subject
"Here we go." She held Chikage close, leaning back on her heels... until she fell out the window.
They were only falling for a split second, before a loud pop sounded, and Carmen's handy wing-span pack extended from the metal disk on her back. The henchman watched as the two took off into the air, heading towards the hovercraft waiting for them in the sky above the clouds.
As Carmen flew to it, the docking hatch opened. The woman slid inside, glad to be out of the cold wind and somewhere she could keep Chikage safe at. She made contact with the henchman in her earpiece, whom were heading to the delivery point. Well, at least the heist went smoothly.
Chikage, on the other hand...
Carmen moved towards her room in the large hovercraft. "Lets get your shoulder taken care of, Chikage."
no subject
It once again took him a moment or two longer than it should of to let go.
He followed Carmen's lead towards her room. "Right." The feeling of his shoulder wound felt a little more prevalent now. It stung, but not quite as much as the fact someone managed to get a bullet off in Carmen's direction.
It clearly seemed to weigh on him. He was being more quiet than usual and his gaze seemed distant, like he wasn't actually looking at Carmen.
no subject
Carmen sat down beside him, smoothing her skirt down on her bottom as she did. She reached up, undoing the buttons to his suit jacket.
"Hope you don't get embarrassed easily," She stated, picking the jacket off of him. She discarded it to the side, fingers coming up an undoing the red tie, pulling it from his neck.
no subject
While he tried to look at this situation as Carmen simply tending to his injuries he couldn't help but be a little flustered. Here was Carmen, a beautiful woman he admired fussing over him and undressing him. It once again bordered that line between a mother-child relationship and something more intimate.
At the very least this situation had brought him back to Earth. His mind focusing on Carmen rather than the situation. "It's alright. If I had that much of a problem with you tending to my injuries I would of learned first-aid already myself. Although this is the first time anyone has managed to fire off a shot."
While swordplay had come naturally to him there were things that didn't. Either he had never learned them in his prior life or they were less ingrained and too technical for him to know how to do anymore. He had learned much in his time with Carmen, almost obsessively studying to be of use to her in a heist.
Beneath his clothes he was a rather fit young man. He had certainly practiced his sword play for many years among other possible physical activities and it showed.
The wound was thankfully a clean shot. The bullet exited without leaving any shrapnel. It would just be a matter of cleaning and dressing the wound to avoid infection.
no subject
"You'll be out of commission for awhile," She stated, toweling off the area. She applied more pressure to his shoulder, just to be sure the bleeding had fully stopped. Luckily, it didn't seem as if he had any internal bleeding for fractured bones he had to worry about.
no subject
He followed whatever Carmen wanted to do from here. Allowing himself to lay back and let Carmen take care of the wound.
Chikage hissed at the feeling of water being directly poured into his wound. However his focus was on Carmen's words. The idea of not being around to protect Carmen during a heist was not something he liked the idea of. "I'm sorry I wasn't fast enough. I shouldn't of let that guard get one shot off let alone two." This was actually pretty typical for Chikage. He seemed to be chronically too hard on himself.
"I will be fine for your next heist though I am sure. I will just have to practice my one-handed techniques." Stubborn man that he was Chikage had no intention of letting Carmen go on a heist with just her henchmen. Especially now that he was paranoid what would of happened had he not been there at all to stop that guard.
no subject
"You'll remain at the base during missions until further notice."
no subject
That harshness faded as soon as it arrived in favor of something more gentle. "I.." He restructured that sentence rather obviously as he realized immediately that might be saying too much. "You were almost shot. If that guard had better aim we might both be injured or worse. I'm sorry for my failure, but I intend to be there so nothing like it happens again."
no subject
"You're not going." She started wrapping up his arm. "There is no respect by disobeying a direct order, Chikage. If you're running around injured, I won't be able to concentrate on what I need to do without thinking back on you as well.
"You'l be staying behind. I'll put you to work in another way, if that's what you want, but you eon't be on the field with me until you're healed to my satisfaction.
"Don't talk to me like that again." Ah, there it was, that was mother-to-child mode. For some reason, she didn't like it... maybe it was because she felt like she was talking to someone inferior, when Chikage was...
He was... the most important person to her. But she didn't want him to be hurt further. That she couldn't have.
no subject
Chikage's body tensed at her words, but he wouldn't say anything until she was done wrapping him up an he could at least sit up.
"What I want is to be able to react if you're in danger. I can't do that if I'm anywhere but with you." His tone showed his frustration and anger with this situation. He was more angry with himself than Carmen.
Chikage stood up and headed to the door. "All of this is pointless if you die." He pauses as if unsure if he should say this next part. "I will be alone again."
If Carmen let him Chikage would leave the room to head for his own room.

He might of been sleeping... so, after typing in the security code to his electronic door, she headed on inside.
Carmen looked around his room, before perring over to the bed to see if Chikage was asleep.
no subject
He hadn't even bothered to put a new shirt on before going to bed. His blood-stained one still left in Carmen's room.
no subject
Carmen's fingers slid through the soft bangs of his hair. She noticed he hadn't bothered to put any pajamas on... or cover his torso properly. Carmen stared down at him with blue eyes, just watching him for a moment.
no subject
This seemed to dissipate some when Carmen ran her fingers through his hair. Despite appearances otherwise he did crave touch and comfort far more than he would ever admit. His body however would be more honest while he was sleeping.
no subject
Carmen did wonder how long it would take him to heal... maybe...
She could hold off on her heists until then...
She would have to see. For now, her fingers slid out of Chikage's hair. She trailed a finger down the youth's jawline and to his lips.
There it was again. That line of motherhood and womanhood teetering. His helplessness was something to watch over and protect... and another part of her craved to take advantage of his disposition. No matter how she tried to spin it, Carmen always wound up at the same end: Chikage was hers. She had been the one to find him, she had been the one to take him in...
It was selfish thinking, but... it couldn't be helped. Her finger traced over his bottom lip. They looked precious enough to kiss...
Carmen found herself leaning in, long, waved hair fluttering down her shoulders and onto Chikage's body. Her hand moved from his lips and to his waist, holding him into the bed as her lips moved to press onto his.
no subject
The unfamiliar sensation of soft lips against his own and the tickling of long hair on his body made Chikage begin to wake up.
His eyes opened slowly at first, but then shot open as he took in the situation. Chikage's face heated up quickly at this sudden situation he awoke to. He wasn't even sure what to do. Carmen's lips against his felt nice and comforting even if he wasn't expecting this. On the other hand should they really be doing this? Carmen was like a parent to him in some ways. She taught him not only about thieving, but about the world he barely remembered in general.
This mix of feelings lead to Chikage laying there frozen in surprise for a few moments, but if Carmen allowed him those few moments of surprise she would be rewarded with Chikage clumsily kissing her in return.
no subject
Her long hair tickled across his chest and shoulders.
"...You're not a very good kisser, Chikage." Not that she expected him to be. He didn't know anything outside of her...
...Just how she wanted it.
no subject
He had to let out a slight laugh from the absurdity of the situation, but that didn't negate his nervous feelings by much. He was still very much shirtless with Carmen practically laying on top of him.
"I didn't suspect I would be. It certainly hasn't been a subject for our lessons." His words carried the implication that he wasn't going to learn from anyone else.
Chikage certainly had offers before in such things. Usually when younger female henchmen thought Carmen was out of ear-shot. He was a fairly handsome, seemingly single young man. Needless to say all of those offers were turned down.
no subject
"...Would you like me to teach you?" The hand on his waist tapped idly against Chikage's warm skin. "...Or are you too tired for a lesson in how to seduce your target?"
no subject
"Why are you doing this so suddenly?"
The timing certainly didn't seem like a coincidence. It wasn't very long after their fight of sorts.
no subject
"You do it because you want to." Her voluptuous body shifted on the bed over him. It was the same answer for her... and she could spout off many different things,...
In the end, it all boiled down to the same thing.
no subject
It didn't take him all that long to give an answer back. "Then my answer to you is yes, I want you to show me."
Chikage had never been that great with emotions. Carmen framing it as a lesson in seduction was a very good idea for the moment. They would eventually have to confront what their relationship really was at a later date, but at the moment feelings of want and companionship were overriding those pressing questions in Chikage's mind.
no subject
She leaned in again, intending to devour him with a deep kiss if he could.
no subject
He did what he was told, parting his lips just enough for Carmen to steal a deep kiss from him.
As she kissed him his tongue would come up to meet her's while his arms wrapped loosely around her.
no subject
She gave a faint hum into his mouth before pulling away.
"You shouldn't move around so much. You'll only hurt yourself further, you know."
no subject
It took him a moment to come back to his senses when she pulled back. "I'm not exerting myself I promise. I wouldn't do that unless I thought I needed to." While he was certainly willing to push himself to ensure Carmen's safety he wasn't going to do anything needless.
no subject
"You're softer than I thought you'd be, Chikage. It must be because you're so young~"
no subject
He let out a small noise of pleasure as she kissed his neck.
He couldn't help but smile at her comment "You really do make these observations at the strangest times."
