✖ Post with your character name/fandom/options for scenarios
(ie; het/slash fluff/smut) and your prompt.
✖ Use RNG to pick your numbers.
1-5 for regular senses, 6-10 for moral sense, 11-16 for cracky senses.
The Basic Five
1. Sense of Sight - Whether you woke up that way, had an accident, a brain tumor expanded or you had a bad reaction to something, you're now blind. Fully and completely. Watch out for that bu--*wince*
2. Sense of Smell - Did someone step in dog crap? It could be you, but you'd never know. You've lost your sense of smell. I guess there's no stopping by the roses for you, huh?
3. Sense of Hearing - "I'M NOT YELLING!!" Yes, yes you are. And no matter how loud you crank AC/DC, you're never hearing Highway to Hell again. Guess I shouldn't have gotten you the Stones compalition CD's, huh?
4. Sense of Taste - No, it doesn't taste like chicken. In fact, it doesn't taste like anything. Perfect time to get that friend that burns everything to cook for you - at least it'll make them happy and you can smile through the whole ordeal.
5. Sense of Touch - Where'd you get that bruise? Or that gaping knife wound? No clue. You have utterly lost the ability to feel anything, like your body is enveloped in fuzzy packing tape. Punch the wall all you want, you ain't gonna feel anything.
The Guiding Factors
6. Sense of Right and Wrong - Tripping people that get in your way? Taking candy from babies? Killing someone that hurt you and yours? All sound like pretty good ideas right about now. Your entire moral code has been thrown into the 'grey' area. There is no right or wrong, only what you want.
7. Sense of Decency - Things that just 'aren't done' are in play for you now. Evicting old ladies and orphans because they can't pay? Pff. Good. Lousy Mooching leeches. Hitting on that underage and naive little thing? Puh-leeze, they're an easy mark. Deflower, deport and debauch yourself to your heart's content.
8. Sense of Self - You don't even know who you are anymore. What are you doing with your life? What's it all mean? What the hell's it for? Why even bother to get up in the morning? Are you going to go try and 'find' yourself? Or just give up?
9. Sense of Preservation - Your life? Means about as much as a mouse fart. Why should you step out of the way of that speeding train? You were there first. Mouthing off to that huge, angry, overpumped steroid-faced goon sounds like a good idea too. He took your seat. And he smells.
10. Sense of Empathy - That ability that lets you put yourself in the shoes of others, to relate to them? Gone. No, you don't know what they're feeling, and quite frankly, you don't want to. You have your own things to deal with, and they're much more important. Why? Because they're yours.
The Quirky Ones
11. Sense of Humor - Wait, am I supposed to laugh now? You have to take your cue from those around you, laughing when they do, usually a little bit late and a little too long. Not even a fart joke will crack a smile.
12. Sense of Direction - You couldn't find your ass with both hands. Literally. You tried. And wound up getting thrown in the clink for inappropriate conduct with a nun. Don't drop the soa-- Too late.
13. Sense of Modesty - So what if you're using a belt as a skirt. It looks good, right? Bending over and showing off too much isn't an issue for you, neither is changing in the middle of the store if you just have to wear that cute little shirt now.
14. Sense of Fashion - Yes, you think a pink polka-dotted bikini top goes just smashingly with the neon green bellbottoms. Bubblewrap tops? Freakin' awesome. Put it on and flaunt it, and watch people's eyes bleed.
15. Sense of Timing - "What do you mean now's a bad time?" Yes, because you think trying to pick up a girl at her husband's funeral is a good thing. What? She's single. You're late to everything. A clock? Wassat? Strange, foreign words...
16. Mix and Match - You poor bastard, you've lost more than one sense. 2? 3? The whole lot? Who knows, that's up to you.

lies I feel so uuuuseeed
Well, if he's going to get soaked, he might as well use it in a good cause. And right now, Billy needs clothes he probably hasn't slept in.]
And a shower. You almost certainly need a shower. I'm surprised Teddy puts up with this, really. Then again, he is far more patient than me.
[He smiles at Billy, though, trying to look confident. Right now, he's not sure this is something he can help with, but it's pretty obvious Billy needs to be able to believe he can.]
Don't say thank you just yet.
now who's lying???
No one's home except for us... but keep an ear out anyway?
[Since... he really can't, can he?
Loki really should have come at a different time... not that Billy was sure there'd be a good time coming soon or anything.]
... And [Ugh, he hated doing this but he went to take a notepad off his desk and a pen, holding it out.] if you could?
[Because trying to read lips and cues from Loki was a bit more of a hassle than he wanted to go through right now.]
still you ;_;
I'll be listening. Go on. I'll even promise not to watch this time, either.
[He raises an eyebrow at Billy. There's never poor timing for making insinuations, after all.
He carries on speaking to himself out loud, though, safe in the knowledge Billy can't hear him.]
Meanwhile, I suppose I need to do some thinking about what to do here. I can't very well leave you miserable, after all. Who knows what you'll decide to do?
[It's a very valid worry. Not one he's too concerned about right now, but definitely one he'll have to keep an eye out for the longer this goes on. One he might even have to speak to Teddy about, as little as he tries to interfere in Billy's official relationship.
...and besides, he doesn't like seeing Billy like this.]
I never lie. :c
The comment gets an unamused look from Billy, but it's more for show than anything. It's hard to muster up enough to care if Loki looks at him or not honestly. He can't imagine why anyone would even want to, as pathetic as he feels.
Either way, he doesn't catch anything else Loki says out loud. He goes to gather some fresh clothes and heads across the hall to the shower. He doesn't particularly care what he looks like, but he does wash himself up a little -- and shaves off the stubble he hadn't cared enough to take care of lately. Teddy would probably appreciate this too, anyway. So would his parents and brothers. It wasn't like they hadn't all been frustratingly worried about him.
Once he was done and dressed in a t-shirt and jeans, he padded his way back out to find Loki.]
Loki?
ahem "innocent"
He looks up as Billy comes back, smiling in a way very few people see. Even if it's hard to believe, especially for Loki, he genuinely is quite fond of Billy. And seeing him in that kind of state is always unpleasant. Especially when he's caused it himself once or twice.]
Better!
[And it really is. He runs his fingers through Billy's hair, putting it back into something resembling a style, before resting his hand on Billy's cheek. At least when he's touching Billy, it doesn't seem quite so much like Billy is going to vanish in front of him.]
Now, answer me some questions and then I'll make my exit and let you get back to staring out the window, if that's what you want. Deal?
Not that I particularly think that's healthy for you, of course, but right now it feels very much like the only motivation that you're willing to consider. Why do you do this, Billy?
... fiiiine. ]:
He closes his eyes for a moment and nods. He'll answer whatever Loki wants to know as clearly as he can.
He's not sure what he wants really. To be able to hear, to be able to use his magic entirely again... anything. He's useless right now for more than staring out the window.]
hah! \o/
[But it's only a stray comment, more joke than anything else. It's not a Loki thing to be nice, and he has to make up for it somehow.
Still, if they're going to be here for a while... he pulls away reluctantly, catching Billy's hand instead, and pulls him over to sit on the bed.]
Sit down, first. Lean on me, if it's easier. I won't mind, this once.
[He never really does mind, not from Billy, but best not to let Billy know that or he'll expect it all the time. And Loki knows he isn't capable of being this... caring all the time.]
Do you know why or how this happened?
[Obvious question first. It's always best to eliminate that before going on to complicated things.]
no subject
At the next question, he shakes his head.]
I don't know exactly why.
[He lets out a breath.]
I can give you the story, but do you really think you can help, Loki?
no subject
[He never makes promises, not in so many words, but he means that. If there's a way, he'll find it, and for once not for himself.
The arm nearest Billy goes around his waist, and Loki runs his other hand through Billy's hair again. At least Billy seems to be less miserable when he's in contact with someone, and right now Loki supposes he's the only person available, so it will have to be him.]
Start from the beginning. I won't know for certain what the best course of action is until I know what happened.
no subject
Or maybe he's just desperate enough at this point to grasp on to anything, any shred of hope.
It's not-- comfortable, like this. He can't hear when anyone is around, when people are coming up to him. Lip reading only goes so far and it's easy to glance away for a second and miss something. At least when there's contact, it feels a little less like he's trapped in this situation alone.
And Loki is doing good at the steady reminders. He huffs out a sigh and takes a moment to gather his words to describe how he was with the Young Avengers and there was a fight, a bit one, and magic, of course. He was knocked unconscious sometime during it and when he woke, he was like this. It's not injury-related though -- the first thing he tried was going to a doctor.
The second thing he tried was to reverse it magically, but-- he can't. He can't use his magic at all.]
What good am I like this? [Loki probably doesn't want to handle the self-pitying and in truth, Billy doesn't expect much sympathy, but...] I can't fight like this. I can't do magic. I'm useless.
[And he'll adapt, of course, but-- it's hard to work up the will to really try right now.]
no subject
[But really, Billy is doing remarkably well. Loki's not sure he'd be all that much happier if he'd gone suddenly and totally deaf.
He tightens his grip on Billy, and turns just far enough to kiss Billy on the forehead, little more than a light brush of his lips.]
You're hardly useless. Magic might be more difficult for you like this, but it isn't impossible. You've just told yourself it's the case, and so it is for you. I'll have to teach you how to re-write that part of the story, one day. And if nothing else, you're always decorative. That was a joke, by the way.
[He leaves Billy to focus on that and carefully taps his magic. People's hearing is not usually something he'd want to be messing with, he's not a healer by nature or training, but if there's nothing physically wrong...
He speaks a short phrase out loud, nothing complicated. Doing magic like this, general and big and unprepared, is tiring and a little dangerous. Splashing magic around is what his older self does, and doing it that way brings him a little close to that older self.]
It might take a few minutes. Let me know if there's pain, yes?
no subject
At least most of the snide comments are being kept to himself, Billy figures.]
What are you doing?
[He pulls away a little bit to look up at Loki, brows furrowed. He'd like to know what may or may not cause him pain after all.]
no subject
[An understatement. He can hardly fight for the right to be himself and then turn around and force it on someone else. Someone like Billy, whose flaws affect mostly himself, and who would perhaps not be Billy with those things suddenly altered.]
So it's been told to remove any external influences affecting your hearing, but curses sometimes come with nasty little tricks to stop themselves being removed, or make things worse than leaving the spell in place. If that's the case, I need to stop it immediately.
[He brings his hand to the side of Billy's face again, another touch meant to be comforting.]
I suppose I should be grateful you trust me enough to let me do this, shouldn't I? Even if it does make you terribly naive.
no subject
Nothing yet.
[He almost hopes for something soon because even if it's a curse, at least they'll have an idea of what they're dealing with the. The touch to the side of his face has him bringing up a hand to cover Loki's, squeezing it carefully.]
... Did you really miss me that much?
[He doesn't really expect an honest answer there, but Loki did actually come looking for him. He's here right now, trying to comfort him. It's... surprisingly nice to know that Loki would make this much effort.]
no subject
[He had missed Billy, that was the problem. He's not used to missing people.
It's hard to admit, and so he counters with his usual defensiveness, one eyebrow raised in a slightly mocking fashion.
On the other hand, he doesn't make any attempt to pull away from Billy. Loki tells himself it's solely because Billy seems to need the contact, and he needs to keep Billy happy if he's going to have Billy's company in the future.]
Anything yet?
no subject
He doesn't really pull away either. He does make a slightly disgruntled noise after a minute though, shifting around a bit.]
It's kind of uncomfortable now...
no subject
...Time for damage repair. And perhaps, if he wasn't so bad at anything resembling honesty and emotions, he wouldn't need to do so much of it.]
Billy? You know I'd hardly come looking for you if I didn't miss you, don't you?
[But Billy's moving and complaining and although Loki takes care to keep his face confident, that's potentially worrying. He keeps his hand on Billy's face, keeps eye contact as much as possible, the runes springing up between them.]
Pain or just uncomfortable?
no subject
Just uncomfortable.
[He looks back to Loki.]
Is that normal?
no subject
...No. No, it isn't.
And when I find who did this, I'm going to do something even nastier to them.
[Whether Billy likes it or not. No-one touches the people that are Loki's. And somewhere and somehow along the line, Billy's wormed his way into being one of those people.]
No giving up yet, though. This is still not irreparable. It's just going to take more time and more care. Trust me.
no subject
How can you be sure?
[He draws back for a moment and rubs his hands over his face, letting out a frustrated noise -- not at Loki, just at this entire situation. He hates feeling this vulnerable... and he hates that he actually let himself get his hopes up for a minute that there'd be an easy fix.]
What if I really am stuck like this though?
no subject
[He huffs, although he's very careful to hide it from Billy. Not helpful, not with Billy so close to giving up already.]
Because I'm me. Master of many, many arts of magic and spell, and ridiculously powerful mage in comparison to anyone but you. Besides, this is mischief in a cruel and crude form, and I'm the master of that, too.
[He wraps both hands around Billy's wrists, pulling them down. His look is direct and serious, although not entirely without sympathy. Belief is hard, after all.]
Think like that and you will be. Half of magic is believing what you want is possible. Conversely, anything you assume impossible will be. This is what you do with your affirmations, isn't it? Talk yourself into believing what you can do.
no subject
But if anyone can probably fix it? It probably is Loki. Or he hopes so anyway.
He lets out a sigh and moves his hands until he can take Loki's in his own, squeezing them lightly.]
... I believe you, Loki.
[Not so much himself, but he can try to believe Loki will help at least.]
no subject
[And really, not many people can lay claim to being that vicious.
He should use his hands for this, but he's unwilling to claim them back from Billy, so he leans in instead to rest his forehead against Billy's. Any contact will work, after all; it's just this is a rather more affectionate gesture than Loki usually is comfortable with. And then he says another phrase in the language he probably should teach Billy.]
Show me the mischief that plagues you.
no subject
Nothing hurt, there wasn't any discomfort yet, and he hoped that was a good sign honestly. One bit of good news would just be amazing right now, one break--]
no subject
You really are far too comfortable with me, you know.
[But he can't help smiling a little at it. It's still not that common anyone trusts him that much. And perhaps he does have a break, now. Some small way of being worth trusting, for once.]
It's a tricky piece of magic, but I think I've found the thread that should collapse the whole thing. The thing with curses is that because the stories say they always have an escape clause somewhere, they always do. This one is tricky, but I should be able to fool it into believing the condition met. It's not entirely without risk, though. You could end up hurt, or worse. Or you could take this to someone else, if you want. I won't be terribly offended.
[He tilts his head sideways a little. It's up to Billy if they proceed, after all. It's his hearing, and his life, and Loki's not about to take his choices away from him.]
