Life is hard. You can go through rough patches and over bumps, and sometimes it feels as though you're definitely worse for the wear, both physically and mentally. It's nice to have someone - someone more than a friend - there for you in those times...even if you don't think you want them or deserve them. But they're here, and they'll take care of you.

How to Play:
* This is a shipping meme for more tender, soft moments, but a little more serious than your usual "fluff." It's for people who've been broken down by their experience and those who wish to heal them.
* Comment with your character/your preferences. You may also want to specify whether your character will be the one "cared for" or the one doing the "caring" + pertinent information, but for most effectiveness, it's best to be open to both.
* Comment around.

1. Know You've Been Hurt By Someone Else: There are scars left on their heart from a past relationship or fling, and you have to let them know you're not the same way.
2. Can Tell By the Way You Carry Yourself: The person you have feelings for is one of those "cold stone wall" types who pushes people away. Can you get past that?
3. I've Asked About You: You've only heard bad things about this person, but you don't believe it.
4. What's a Life with No Fun: Lighten up a bit! You'd do anything to bring a smile to their face.
5. Please Don't Be So Ashamed: You have a big, BIG secret you don't want the other person to find out about, because surely they wouldn't want to even be near you if they did.
6. I've Had Mine, You've Had Yours: You've both had problems, and it could help to compare wounds so they can begin to heal.
7. Those Lies Heal: Protecting your loved one is more important that the truth, isn't it? It's a lie, but there are good intentions here.
8. You Can't Sleep: Because of past trauma, you're having a sleepless night. Luckily, this time you have somebody to help you and give you some comfort.
9. You Cry Still: The obligatory "seeing your significant other/love cry over something and wanting to make them stop at any cost" option.
10. All Get a Little Taste: Your loved one is sick or injured - literally this time - and you're looking out for them and trying to get them better.
11. You Just Don't Know: Either through magic, torture, or blunt trauma to the head, your special person can't remember you! It's up to you to get them to remember what was between you two by showing all the ways you cared for each other.
12. I Give Her Space: Part of being a careful lover is knowing when you need to leave them alone.
13. Tryna Run from That: Uh-oh, you don't want to fall in love, because you've been there, done that! Maybe there's still time to escape from this...or maybe it's too late.
14. I Will Care for You: After a particularly rough day, you're need a little TLC. Your loved one is going to do everything for you - a bath, food, the works.
15. All the Baggage Just Ain't as Heavy: You know it will take a while for this person to mend psychologically and spiritually, and you're willing to wait.
16. Change the Pace: And the smut option. Show you care through sex.
17. We'll Just Go Slow: You're going to take things one step at a time. No need to rush and define things. Just enjoy each other's company and the healing it brings.
18. We All Have Our Nights: Your lover, because of their past experience, is having a complete breakdown. You have to bring them back from the edge.
19. You Don't Say You Love Me: You both know how you feel, but one of you is having problems saying the four letter word. That's okay, though. Your lover understands.
20. To Save You: After months or years, you've both worked on the problems and old scars and you might just be ready to start something resembling a normal love.

The screen is dimmed so as not to disturb the other occupant of the room, but the figures and share-files on the screen are still beginning to blend into some mocking Rorschach test. And this ink-blot looks like a chirper from a Scout sending her information, and blueprints for new hardware, and...]

[And there Neptune is, cuddled into her bed. Said she needed some company, then decided a few hours back to lie down for the night. Noire can't help but feel a little pit of jealousy that Neptune finds it so easy to simply... Be, without the crushing weight of need to 'just do everything.']

[But why is all that jealousy erased when she sees Neptune's face? Why is she moving towards the bed, despite knowing that she won't get any sleep for awhile yet? She didn't even shut her laptop, but the covers feel so soft against her hand... And Neptune's small body is so adorable all bundled in all those blankets...]

His eyes glanced to said bathroom door that Sarah had yet to surface from. He searched his cell phone for any messages while waiting for her. There wasn't much else to do unless she shooed him off. Trip had already made the bed and taken the breakfast he brought her back into the kitchen so it wouldn't get cold. The condo was a one bedroom on the beach with a fairly good amount of amenities without crossing the line into luxury grade. Their covers fit the locale as tourism bloggers. Each knew something about different parts of the world. No one would think anything should they up and leave as well.

It was closing in on two months since Coulson gave the order for Trip to go underground with Sarah until SHIELD could get the upper hand on Hydra on the Leda project. Data was being collected on the Castor project in the process. Being kept in the dark could be the reason behind her increasingly sour mood. There was also the matter of having to be dependent on someone else when she had always been completely independent.

Sarah had processed with SHIELD in less than a week. She was assigned to Trip, designated his responsibility until the dust cleared in regard to her ties to Hydra. They were playing house in Miami, Florida--a place where operations seldom took place and both could hide in plain sight. He couldn't deny enjoying the weather given the blizzards other parts of the country were facing. However, unlike him, she seemed not to find any silver lining.

He didn't let her increasingly sullen mood get to him. Quite the opposite. He saw the time together as an opportunity to prove to Sarah that she was more than an asset. Trip often woke her up with breakfast and made many attempts to cook anything she deemed a favorite. He bought her a flower at random when they passed a vendor in south beach. Sex was still a give and take in which he never passed up an opportunity to display his desire for her. He massaged her from head to toe, ran her baths and did not shy away from training hand to hand behind drawn shades to keep both of their skills up. It probably didn't sound much different than some of their trysts.

As far as he saw it, it was too early to be concerned about her mood swings. The circumstances could be worse but they also could be better. He understood if Sarah had expected SHIELD to work things out faster. Trip didn't know what to expect. He was grateful that they weren't kept confined to a base. Granted, it took quite a bit of pressing from him but Coulson did him the favor. Antoine wanted the chance to be who they were without SHIELD or Hydra as a mitigating factor.

"Maybe you're coming down with something. There's that bug going around," he gently offered when Sarah complained about how tired she felt. "It would explain why you've been feeling queasy too." Trip couldn't explain why her spells of nausea seemed to be related to his cooking ham and not bacon but he wouldn't bring that up now. He decided to distract her and change topics. "You know...I been meaning to ask if you like it here better than LA. I don't think the beach is as good but the people seem less...self centered."

He had almost said 'phony' which might have felt like a jab at her. Trip was careful to keep things on the up and up with Sarah. She initially devastated him with the double life but won him over almost immediately. His feelings hadn't changed for her. When the dust settled, she was honest with him; she hadn't pretended too hard to be someone she wasn't. He accepted her with her rough edges and sometimes withdrawn moods. Against SHIELD protocol, he even gave her the space to be separate from him. And more than the separation a bathroom door played but actually leaving the condo on her own.

Trip sat on the corner of the bed, sitting his cell phone down on the nearby nightstand and waiting for some kind of response from Sarah.
