They've finally retired and Sherlock has agreed to move from London. They talked about it a few times after they were married. John had then employed the help of their daughter and a few friends to research and do a lot of the "leg work" since John wanted to keep it from his husband. All these years and he's still as sharp as ever.

So, taking the cab was essential. As was the blindfold.

As he kept telling Sherlock over and over.

Kurt had been so excited about Sebastian's surprise Birthday party. He'd planned every detail and not a thing was out of place. There was a delicious assortment of Sebastian's favorite food and drinks as well as all the people Sebastian loved to hang out with/ lord over.

[ He can't entirely fault the creature. It's drawn to sources of negative energy, and in the wake of Darkseid's attempt to manifest on Earth his hometown of Smallville's become a focal point of darkness. Even now, months after his defeat, whatever Darkseid had done to open that bridge between dimensions still lingers like a foul stench, unseen but omnipresent.

Davis would be just as happy to have left this to Clark. Or Oliver. Or... anyone, really. But he couldn't. Not this time.

They've been steadily growing in power, the creatures that have been migrating to Smallville like acolytes making a pilgrimage, and this being, this Nogitsune, is the strongest one yet. Clark couldn't handle it on his own, he'd tried and failed already and it was only by a miracle that he wasn't possessed outright. With the Blur our of juice and the others all human and even more vulnerable to its power, that left Watchtower with only one option to stop it: their trump card. The Ultimate. Him.

He beat it, or rather the beast inside him did, but he's not particularly proud of it. If it took a monster to beat a monster, what does that say about him?

He's driving it out to the cemetery where there's supposedly a coffin that it won't be able to escape from, but he's not particularly proud of that either. Getting blood on his hands would be one thing, he's no stranger to that, but sentencing anything to an eternity of hell doesn't sit well with him. Maybe it's too close to home, given how narrowly he himself came once to such a fate.

His dark eyes flicker quickly from the empty road to his passenger. It's still here beside him, still safely bound in enchanted chains and blindfolded for good measure, its stolen human head slumped back in the seat. He's got no idea how long it'll be out for, the beating the beast gave it would have easily killed any human being, but of course this creature isn't human. It's a bit like him that way.

Turning his attention back to the road, Davis continues driving in silence and waits for it to awaken.]
