We all have something we either can't do, or can't do alone. Luckily there's a meme for that.

HOW TO PLAY

○Post with your character.  Don't put their name and canon in the header.  Instead put something that they don't know how to do and would like to learn, or something they might want help or practice with.

examples: I can't swim • I need to clean this whole house so I can go to a ball and seduce a prince • I'd like to practice throwing pitches with someone

○Look around the meme! If you see someone that you think your character can be of some help to... tag them!

[ If she's so opposed to it- which he understands better, now, there's no one saying she can't attempt to change it. ]

If there were anyone who would try and succeed, it would be you.

[ Still, he works over his words and cringes at himself a little. ] Forgive me, that was - perhaps overly callous where it wasn't meant to be. I simply meant that I understood. That it gets easier, eventually.

I'd like to. It's why I went to the Conclave in the first place. I wanted to help our clan--and other elves, too, if I could. I told Keeper that I thought the Creators wanted me to do something more than hunting and keeping watch.

[It's not something she's told anyone in the Inquisition in any great detail, the way she had gone to Keeper and confided in her. How she'd found her way to Haven despite knowing hardly anything of politics.]

I guess I didn't realize how much more. [She gives Dorian a lopsided little smile.]

It's...all right. I understand. I think. [Her expression turns sheepish.] I might have been another person glaring at you, if we'd met some other way. Tevinters were as frightening to me as Fen'Harel when I was small.

An admirable goal, no doubt.

[ He means that, too. It might sound dismissive from anyone else, but he well and truly means it, respects that that's what she's aimed to do. ]

Ah, well, we deserve it, most of the time. We tend to foul things up rather gleefully, don't we.

[ He quirks a small smile at her, not so much apologetic as he is matter of fact. ]

It all worked out for the best, anyway.

If I can do anything about it, it will be. But...maybe just being the Inquisitor is a start. I want to do more than that, of course, but--if people have to start thinking of me they would a human...

[Then maybe they'll do the same with other elves. Maybe.]

It's not really your fault--well, not yours. You're trying to change things, too.

[And if he smiles at her, she'll smile back, a little shy and self-conscious but genuinely pleased.]

[ He sounds so tickled at the prospect. ]

But of course. It would take someone blind, deaf and dumb - or just viciously, willfully ignorant to ignore what's going on around us. Someone has to. Or, in this case, multiple someones.

I'm doing that anyway. Did you hear what they were whispering at the Winter Palace?

[Also known as "the worst party Thayes has ever been to."]

Yes, but--you're going to change things in Tevinter, too. You and your friends there. [Her smile gets a little bigger.] That's part of why I like you, you know.

Between going through as many glasses of alcohol as I could manage, yes, of course.

[ It was positively delightful, watching Orlesians - and everyone else, really, getting their smalls in a wad. ]

What's that saying about eggs and counting? [ Dorian shrugs his bare shoulder, nonchalant. ] I'll try. Whether or not it happens, or I take a rather well orchestrated fall down a ditch somewhere remains to be seen. And please, there are plenty of reasons to like me, it's no wonder you do.

I wish I could have done the same.

[She shakes her head.]

All right, you're going to try. Which still puts you ahead of every other Tevinter I've heard of. [Most of whom were cautionary tales to keep small children from wandering too far from the clan's encampment, but shhh.] And you're right--I suppose I like your moustache, too.

Don't fret, I drank enough for the both of us. I'm considerate like that.

Not that it takes much, but, ah, thank you. I do appreciate it. [ He knows the compliment for what it is, at least. Dorian reaches fingers up and twirls one of the ends, pleased. ] Well, that's a relief. I would hate to have to change it.

Probably for a few of us--it only takes a pint and a half before I'm useless.

I can't even picture your face without it. [Moustaches, after all, are a subject she likes far better than the vast majority of Tevinters. Not that it's hard.] You'd have nothing to twirl.

I know, it's quite endearing, I must say.

Please don't try to. I look as if I'm a boy without it, it's borderline horrific, truthfully. I would never be allowed into taverns.

Creators, no. It's awful. Do you know how many of the people visiting Skyhold expect me to have a drink or three with them?

[Her cheeks are darkening, but she's smiling, too.]

I'll tell Sera she can't shave it off, then. I think she was thinking about it.

Find something you can actually have three drinks of and drink only that. Or better still, become friends with the kitchen staff and bartenders. They'll be able to water down your drinks for you so you save face.

[ NOPE. NOPE. Dorian stares her down, pressing a hand to his face. ]

If either of you heathens comes anywhere near my face, I will light you both on fire.

I think I'd rather try and make a few friends. Looking for something that doesn't go to my head is only going to end in headache.

[She bites down on her lip, trying to keep from laughing.]

Sera's the one you'll have to threaten--she can hardly stand me long enough to pull one of her pranks.

Ah, yes, well, the woman who is prepping food in the kitchens at night - Ellyn, I think, she'll be able to help you out.

[ It's said terribly nonchalantly, but he clearly knows her well enough to know she'll help, even if he's acting as if it's a one off. ]

Maker knows I only need to look at her for her to get twitchy.

I'll talk to her. [An awkward little pause, during which she fidgets a little.] Thank you.

You'll have to lock your door, or she'll be after you while you sleep.

[ Ugh. Dorian drags a hand over his face, dreading the idea. ]

Well, lovely, I'll be sleeping with one eye open it seems.

[thayes]

Perhaps if you're lucky, she'll think of something better before she gets to you.

Perhaps I'll simply redirect her to our Commander. He looks as if he could use a laugh or twelve.

[thayes]

Poor Cullen. [She can't smother the laugh this time.] Better him than you or me, I guess.

Somehow, I think he'll live.

[ He sounds terribly pleased at the idea, though. ]

Would you like to whisper the idea in Sera's ear, or should I?

You've warned me of it. I suppose it's only fitting if I handle it.

Maybe after you could meet me for a drink. It couldn't hurt to look for one I can manage.
