We all have something we either can't do, or can't do alone. Luckily there's a meme for that.
HOW TO PLAY
○Post with your character. Don't put their name and canon in the header. Instead put something that they don't know how to do and would like to learn, or something they might want help or practice with.

So I firebombed the squad. Didn't kill anyone, just scorched their pretty uniforms and blew up their cars. But that was enough to get the air force after us.
[Because that was the overreaction in the situation. Yes.]

...Speaking as someone who had an entire elite squad of space cops out to kill him at one point because of what he might do, gotta say that probably wasn't the best call. Nothing says "I'm going to kill everybody" like blowing up police cars and frying cops. That's one way a crowning moment becomes a bad life decision. Was there anything you could've burned between you and the cops to make a fire wall?

And no one even got a blister, for god's sake, I know how to control it. They're the ones who pulled out deadly force with no grounds - I just showed 'em we wouldn't go quietly. "Get down on the ground" my ass. I'm supposed to trust them when they could've killed a dude?

I've got powers, too, so I know what it's like to get judged for having them in the first few seconds. So just chill for a minute, okay?
Now what exactly happened with your friend? It's one thing to get shot at just for having powers. Most guys go for the head shot if there's something super obvious and scary-looking. From what you said, your buddy doesn't sound like he was trying to do a big "back off" display like you with the police cars, but that doesn't say much.

He's got claws. Retractable metal claws, they come out from between his knuckles. And yeah, they don't look friendly, but he'd just saved a bunch of kids - not even all of 'em, but a lot - from being gunned down by the army and all of a sudden the police were busting into fucking suburbia like a SWAT team. We didn't do anything threatening to Bobby's family, he froze his mom's tea to show what he could do. They just flipped their shit, mostly his stupid brother.
So Logan had his claws out when he faced the cops, yeah. But he was bending down when they shot him. He was gonna surrender, just not unconditionally after the crap he'd just seen.
