JEALOUSY

Everyone feels jealous at one point or another, whether it's justified or not. What's important is how we deal with it... do we discuss it, fight about it, or plan epic revenge to carry out?

1 → wandering eye.

You think your lover has been looking at other's a little too often or flirting too much in your company. You can't keep quiet any longer about it.

 

2 → simple life

Your friend, family, or lover has always had it so much easier and you can't help but feel a little put off.

 

3 → don't you forget about me

Your friend or lover has found someone new they want to spend almost all their time with and you can't help but feel a little cheated.

 

4 → cheated

Forget just a sneaking suspicion. You've caught your lover in the act of cheating and it's driving you nuts. You have to confront them about it.

 

5 → for the glory

You did all the work, or at least you feel like you did, so why do they always get all the praise?

 

6 → moved on

You broke up or had a falling out with someone close to you and it's killing you to see how they've seemed to let go and you're stuck standing in place.

 

7 → because i want you

You're jealous of any attention they get because you're secretly in love with them. Time to make it known!

 

8 → always the favorite

Everyone always praises them or they were clearly the favorite child or just more popular with friends. You can't help but hate it.

 

9 → more experience

they're more experienced, either in the bedroom or in the office. Any activity, they outshine you. Who wouldn't feel a little inferior?

 

10 → your choice!

[ For the most part, the couriers sort their mail very well. It's only once in a while, that a letter or report intended for Josephine or Leliana ends up in his stack of paperwork. Today, he's simply so engrossed in what he's doing that he doesn't notice until he has the damn thing open - it has nothing at all to do with troop movements, new recruits or guard rotations.

It's a proposal of marriage. For the Inquisitor.

Josephine handles all such things, normally, and Cullen knows, intellectually, that she receives them with some frequency. The Inquisitor is, after all, the head of a very powerful organization, with armies ready to fight and die in her name, and ever-deepening coffers, not to mention influence with most of the major powers in Thedas - and close friends with the new Divine, no less. To top it all off, she's of noble blood, young, and a renowned beauty. Possibly the most marriageable woman in Thedas.

Cullen knows all this, and yet, even as he scans the proposal, almost against his will, a coil of - something sharp and bitter unlaces in his chest. The man offering is a merchant prince of Antiva. He's wealthy almost beyond imagining, with many connections via his trade. He's been to Skyhold, a diplomatic trip, and he cut a very dashing figure - all charm and smiles and flirtations.

He has everything to offer Lady Inquisitor Trevelyan, and Cullen is suddenly and sharply reminded of how little he has. A broken ex-Templar who suffers from nightmares and headaches and worse, with no name, no money, no family connections.

He strides out of his tower, onto the battlements, the letter gripped in his fist, and he sends the guard on patrol scurrying away with his glare. He leans against the ancient stone, his mouth twisted. You've overreached yourself, and you know it. ]
