[Thankfully, the blood flow was not fast to begin with, but it was still several minutes before Marvelous came back, and AkaRed was started to feel lightheaded from the loss of blood. He was also shaking a little - not because he was feeling cold, though. But because his power levels have dipped so low that it was a struggle to keep his suit on.

AkaRed slowly lifted his head up upon his companions' return.] Marvelous... Navi

~I'm right here!~ [The robo-parrot quickly flew to AkaRed's side.] ~Are you okay, AkaRed? Hang in there!~

I'm okay. [AkaRed shifted to get up, but immediately stopped as he groaned from the pain - not just that large gash at his side, but also all those bruises from his earlier battle with Basco.] ...somewhat.

[Marvelous had ran to get the first aid kit while Navi stayed with Aka Red, skidding a little as be brought it back, and falling to his mentor's side]

We need a bandage, a big one, and some medicine, and...

[He goes on, muttering to him, but bringing out the needed items. One of which is something sugary. AkaRed is loosing a lot of blood. If he sucks on the hard-boiled sweet, it should stop him feeling so light-headed while Marvelous attempts to clean and close the wound]

[AkaRed willingly took the sweet and pop them into his mouth. (though still a mystery as to how food gets through his helmet's mouth piece and into his actual mouth...) The high amount of sugar helped him stay awake and aware while Marvelous tended to his wound. He's trying not grunt and wince from the sting of the medicine - trying being the keyword here.]

Navi...take off. Get us to the--ngh!--nearest safe port.

~Aye, aye, captain! Please hold on to something bolted until we're in the clear~ [And with that, Navi flaps back up to the main computer controls and gets the ship's engines fired up.]

[Marvelous looks up a little, and lowers his eyes again] When something is painful, you said we should show the pain to allow the proper treatment.

[AkaRed made a face behind his helmet. Of all of his sayings to throw back at him, and at all times, too...] Even so, I'd rather not deafen your ears--OWowowowow! [Okay, he's just going to...stop shifting for a bit...]

[Marvelous did not show any outward signs of worry at his mentor's pain, but it was clear that it was going to be a hard act to keep up if he didn't finish the treatment quickly]

[AkaRed leaned his head back, eyes shut tight from the pain. He thought, for a moment, that a good meal after this might be good...but then his memory reminded him why that's not going to happen tonight. Nor for a long while, in fact, if the sinking feeling in his stomach is any indication.]

...I--ow!--I guess we'll need to find a new cook...

[Marvelous' expression tightens, and he gives a nod, not really trusting himself to speak about this]

[Upon seeing that look on Marvelous' face, AkaRed mentally kicked himself for saying that. He knew that Marvelous and Basco had been close for quite a while. The poor lad must be more hurt about the betrayal than he himself was...

It was only when the wound was just about patched up when Navi started squawking over the comm.] "Ahhh! Enemy ships are firing at us in pursuit! What to do; what to do; whatever will we do?!" [And of course upon that announcement, the ship started to rock from the hits that started landing.]

[Marvelous jumped to his feet] We fire back!

Navi, re-route all gun controls to the computer console until further notice! Fire when ready! [AkaRed barely waited for the bird's acknowledgement before he started trying to get back onto his feet.

Trying being the keyword here...]

[Marvelous moved back quickly, near enough to hold Aka Red up if need be] You should rest

[AkaRed shook his head, one hand clinging to one of the pipes along the walls.] Navy can only navigate so much at the console. Someone has to be at the wheel...

I'll do it. [He's never been at the wheel before, but he can't risk Aka Red hurting himself even more]

This is hardly the best time to learn how to steer the ship, Marvelous. [Stubborn captain is stubbornly trying to walk on his own.

He doesn't get any further than a few steps, though, before he doubles over - not just from the pain from the wound, but also from the strain of keeping his suit on while his power levels are dangerously low.]

I'm a fast learner. [It's the stubborn tone]

[AkaRed carefully looked at Marvelous for a few moments, remembering a line from Navi's recent prophetic clue: "Once this treasure has been found, a "Gokai Change" will begin!" The Ranger keys they found were ones that even AkaRed hadn't seen before: five pirate-style Ranger Keys.

But the one that found them first was Marvelous, because he saw one of them shining for a moment. And now, AkaRed's got a certain hunch...]

Marvelous, fish out that red key we found earlier.

[gunandsaber]

Eh? [He wants to argue - this isn't the time - but he knows Aka Red wouldn't be asking if there wasn't a reason. Marvelous fishes out the red key, running his thumb over it, before handing it to Aka Red]

[AkaRed didn't actually take the key this time. Instead, he gently shoved the hand holding the key away.] It's not for me. That Ranger Key...may be just for you, if I'm not mistaken.

Take out your Mobirates, and put the key into the keyhole on it. Then turn it... If I'm right, then it may actually work for you. [At least, he hopes he's right. After all, the Mobirates weren't shaped like they were for looks alone.]

[gunandsaber]

[Looking doubtful, Marvelous takes the key back. He holds it in his hand for a moment. He's never mentioned this, but the key? This key in particular? It feels warmer than the others. All of them feel warm, the ones with the same pattern as this one feel warmer, but this one is the warmest of them all. A comfortable warmth. Like... He didn't know what it was like. There was no frame of reference in his mind to link it to.]

[But he did as Aka Red suggested. Except, not ... exactly. He went into a post, holding the Mobirates to him, and holding the key out]

Gokai Change!

[AkaRed watched with baited breath, his heartbeat thundering in his ear. He could feel it in his bones - the very first transformation starting for a new Sentai Red.

...this is the first time, though, that he's personally witnessed it in person. And considering that this is also the very first Sentai warrior since the Great Legend war...]

((OOC: So, GokaiRed key gives Marvelous the basic knowledge to steer the ship through this space battle - Y/N/Maybe?))

[The power flowing through him... Marvelous blinks under the helmet, wanting to stare at his hands but he feels too battle ready, his head snapping once in the direction of Aka Red, before looking towards where the helm of the ship is. He doesn't stop to ask question, but runs to the helm, and begins moving them through the battle raging outside]

[After having all 34 Sentai Red bonds grow dull after the Great Legend War, feeling this new bond was like a breath of fresh air to AkaRed. A wave of relief washed over him as he sunk back down to his knees. For the first time all evening, a small ray of hope blossomed in his heart.]

A new Sentai...at last...the 35th Sentai Red has been born.

GokaiRed... [As he uttered those final words, his eyes closed, and his body collapsed from the combined strain of both blood loss and severely dwindled power levels. As he slipped into unconscious, a flash of light surrounded his body for a moment before fading into his badge...leaving him in his civilian form.]
