The Mortifying Moments Meme
Oh, no! How could this have happened...? The day started out so well, but now...now, you're never going to be able to live this down! You wish that you could just up and disappear. But, of course, it's never that easy. When things like this happen, life always seems to conspire to ensure that there's an extra set of eyes lurking around...
HOW TO PLAY:
- Post with your character! Include their name and canon in the subject line; also be sure to mention any preferences or any scenario you definitely don't want to play.
- Reply to others with one of the numbered scenarios below! You can pick out whichever sounds best/worst to you, or use a random number generator to leave it up to fate.
- Scenarios #1-5 are Single-Character Shames, directly affecting just one unfortunate party. The player replying can choose whether their character or the other is the victim, or you can work it out between yourselves! #6-10 involve Dual Disgrace and impact both characters equally. Feel free, obviously, to switch up either to your heart's content.
- Have fun ruining your poor characters' days.
Catalog of Misfortunes
1. Crybaby - Sniffle. Sniffle. Sob. For whatever reason, your emotions -- and tear ducts -- are on a hair-trigger today. The littlest thing seems to turn you whimpery, and let's hope for everyone's sake that you don't run up against more stress than that. After all, nobody likes listening to your bawling.
2. Wardrobe (Existence) Malfunction - Where the Hell are your pants?! Long story short, one or more vital articles of clothing have gone missing, and now you're stuck hunting them down -- in your underthings if you're lucky, and, if not, in the buff.
3. Off Your Tit - Congratulations, you're drunk and/or high and/or stoned...and not in a good way. Whether you're babbling and bumping into walls or trying your hand at drunk-dialing, you are the messy, unsightly version of wasted, and somebody's stuck trying to keep you from making a fool of yourself. Or else manning the video camera.
4. Potty Problems - You should have went before you left the house. Or skipped that last soda or beer before bed. Whichever it is, either you're caught in desperate need of the bathroom all of a sudden...or, worse, it's far too late.
5. Shut That Door! - You've just been walked in on in the midst of something you really meant to keep private. Maybe it's something perfectly innocent? (It's just that you knew how they'd laugh if they saw you watching that pony cartoon!) Then again, maybe it's not.
6. Freudian Floor Wax - Suddenly, neither of you can talk without finding a way to shove your foot into your mouth. Blurting out the first thing that comes to mind, accidental double entendre, or just generally hitting on the exact wrong thing to say -- it's like a traffic pile-up in conversation form!
7. Awkwardly Excitable - The two of you are trying to go about some activity in a normal, clean-minded way...but, whether it's something in the air or long-unresolved tension coming to a head, everything the other party does is punching your buttons. Even if you weren't attracted before, today the littlest, most mundane things are leaving you hot and bothered.
8. Stuck Together - For some reason (locked room? surveillance? handcuff prank gone awry?), you're both unable to get out of each other's sight. Annoying enough on its own, but it's a real headache when it comes time to shower or dress...or otherwise get up to something you'd normally want some alone time for.
9. It's Not Mine! - Oh, God, how did that get there? An item (or items) of Questionable Decency have been left out in view, and now it's up to one or both of you to (dis)claim ownership and/or decide what to do with the lewd contraband.
10. Press-gang Dress-up - You have each been roped into some obligation (be it a teenage dare or a cabaret revue) that requires you to don outfits or costumes you'd never be caught dead in, otherwise. Now, it's just the two of you in the dressing room...and whoever's waiting for you both, outside.
11. Pick Your (Own) Poison - Mix and match any of the above prompts, or come up with an entirely different, cringe-worthy scenario for your characters!
