I Propose a Toast...

It may be at a formal gathering or a casual get-together, a special occasion or just an evening in with friends, but whatever is going on your character decides it's time to stand up and give an impromptu speech. Traditionally a toast is given in recognition of an achievement or in appreciation of a milestone, but there are many ways and reasons to give a toast.

Compliments – There are so many good traits the other character should be recognized for.
Acknowledgement – The character has shaped or improved your character's life in certain ways.
Gratitude – Your character decides to thank the other character for things they have done.
Congratulations – Something good has happened to the other character and your character wants to make it known.
Roasting – You character decides to give the speech a deprecating and humorous bent.
Humiliation – Your character has put up with enough from the other character and decides to make it publicly known.

Don't forget, a toast is done in a public setting, so thread-jacking and tangents are most welcome!
