Grooming is an important part of many species' rituals. It keeps them clean, healthy, and content. And a good bath? It can change the whole tone of a day from terrible to relaxed and blissful. But nudity is sometimes viewed as a weakness - and it is almost always sexualized - so bathing is often kept a private matter. If you do share these moments with someone, they're almost always a significant other or a sexual partner. Like you're doing now. Whether it be after a battle or after sex (or before sex, even), the two of you are going to get clean. Be sure to help each other out with that, won't you? After all, there are places on the back that just can't be reached... [The bath tub in the Sato manor is spacious, to say the least. The first time Korra saw it, all those years ago, she'd actually thought it was some kind of small, indoor swimming pool, but that's a country bumpkin getting her first taste of the upper crust of society for you. Up until now, she'd never actually set foot in the luxurious thing, but up until now she and Asami hadn't been dating, let alone reached that "it's time to see you naked" phase of the relationship.

So there they are, one off-handed comment about taking a bath together being good for saving water or some other lame excuse for getting in somewhere steamy together, and it's time to take that big step. Stripped down to the functional wraps that serve as her underwear, Korra fidgets nervously beside the bath as the warm water pours in, trying to get her mind under control. It's not like she's ashamed of her body, quite the opposite in fact, and spirits know Asami is basically flawless, but wow, this is something.]

Looks like it's just about full! Are you, um, ready to...?

[ooc: hair washing is probably one of my favorite things EVER, as is just general bathing type things (eg: your character coming home after a battle/war/fight/hard day at work and needing someone to tend to them), so bonus points for anyone wanting to do something in regards to that! :DDDD]

[Legolas is used to spending weeks on the road without the chance to clean herself, and most of the time, she is able to rise above such things, but every now and then, she simply must wash. After a skirmish, when she has stinking orc blood and mud and who knows what else caking in her long blonde hair, she cannot make herself ignore her discomfort and push on, and so when they stumble across a stream that had been dammed by beavers, creating a clear pool deep in the forest, Legolas demands that they break for a moment so she might be able to wash.

Despite his grumblings about it, Aragorn conceded, and so they made camp nearby.

After her clothes had been washed and laid out over a nearby branch to dry, Legolas slides deep into the water and sets to cleaning herself as well.

She is in the process of rinsing out her hair when she hears a twig snap nearby; she whirls around and searches the forest, still mostly submerged and resembling a water sprite far more than a woodland elf.]

[If there was one thing Bella loved the most about living inside a mountain carved out by dwarves it was the hot water pipes that ran through the rock and heated the stone and water. Surely someone could grow addicted to being able to draw a hot water bath almost instantly and Bella was soon beginning to think she was that someone. As little as hobbits cared for large bodies of water Bella so enjoyed a relaxing soak now and then, especially after a hard day's work, and living inside the mountain by Thorin's side tested her in new ways she never thought she could be tested in.

Most notably her patience. Honestly she wouldn't be surprised if she shook some of the dwarves here and heard the rattling of rocks inside their heads!

Still, another day past and under her belt Bella decided that a nice bath was in order to soak away her stresses so as better to take on tomorrow with a little more tolerance. Thorin wouldn't be back until late which was very unfortunate in her opinion. The last she had seen him was at lunch and even then their time together was too brief, but Bella could hardly complain. She knew better than to think she could hog the king's attention all for herself as much as she'd love to do just that.

After running the water, spilling a few drops of scented oil after some brief hesitation, the bath room filled with warm steam giving her the feeling of walking through a cloud as she pulled off her clothes and folded them neatly over a chair to the side. She slid into the bath easily and with a relieved sigh, her hair pinned up lazily as she had almost forgotten to pull it back before getting wet. A few curled locks fell around her face but she could hardly bring herself to care as she leaned back against the rim of the ornate tub.]
