[Yosuke just could not believe that just happened. How doe something like this even happen in the first place?! Getting thrown from his bike, he could deal with. Having to fish said shitty bike out of the Samegawa? Also something he can deal with (he's had to deal with it nine times even). But who gets attacked by fishes while getting their bike only to end up with cuts all over your arms and legs because - the most hilarious part, really - in his haste to escape the fishes biting his heels, he tripped and landed on some rocks that he's fairly certain weren't there before the fishes attacked.

And while he would normally ask a girl to help him (because yeah) he's too damned embarrassed to even text them. What an affront to his masculinity!

... okay, so he does text one of them. But partner was different and he knew that Yu was cool enough to not bring this up between them ever again. And maybe help him think up a cover story that wasn't so lame. God, this was so damn lame]

Narnia has, by and large, been peaceful since the Winter Rebellion. It hasn't been an entirely perfect stillness, no, but something certainly seems to have settled since the four Kings and Queens have taken their thrones.

That hardly means there isn't a need for diligence. They were brought here in a baptism of blood; the battlefield may not hold the terror of the unknown anymore, but it's hardly lost all sense of foreboding. Not all negotiations will end perfectly. Not all skirmishes will end in a return to peace.

So it remains an entirely natural thing for all the warriors of Narnia--including the young Kings and Queens themselves--to maintain themselves in a state of preparedness. There's certainly nothing at all odd about seeing Lucy in practice with a bow and arrow.

What might be unusual is the fact she seems less to be actually practicing today and more to be frowning at her own shoulder with a rather set expression on her features.

[ What Chris expected since Langshiang was a new mission, with an old partner, and less of a team. Although he never would have pictured himself to be chasing down Jake through the seedy underbelly of Europe, on strict orders to collect more samples of his blood and place better surveillance on the guy. Thankfully the kid had a pattern—Tending to stick to the lesser developed countries, hugging borders for a quick escape, and odd rewards. An apple or two with a couch to crash on after mowing down herds of B.O.Ws; more reckless than he and Jill were in their younger years. They stuck to a sprawling city around the same age while Jake set up connections across Europe.

After paying bribes out of his own pocket to get a bit of 'em to slip up, Chris had gotten a lead on Jake's current whereabouts. After breaking out of the neighboring country, the kid had managed to worm his way farther up north. Back into Europe, and back into a place where his limited knowledge on Serbian had actually helped.

Perhaps Chris and his new team were being blatant in their searches, but the point of his bribery and tailing was to make sure word would eventually trail back towards the source. Not forgetting the promise he made to Jake about spilling the beans on his father, either.

However this time, maybe he stepped in too quickly, or too close on the final stretch. Scouring a crowded marketplace in his casuals, looking for any of Jake's haunts or sign of his connections. Eventually, he spots the other easily enough over the crowd, hanging back a good amount of feet and ducking into stalls if need be. While Chris was never the best at stalking a target, especially with his size, so he figures his own presence should be obvious by now.

Apparently obvious enough to have a local push against him on the last couple of steps. Shouting threats and words he could only make out in pieces or phrases. Unsure if Jake had paid the guy to shake him off or not, Chris catches sight of the blade just in time to tilt away from it, only have it shred the shoulder of his shirt. The man clearly missing Chris' neck, but using the situation and crowd to his advantage by running the tip of the blade a bit under his clavicle. Having it dip in odd patterns while Chris worked on shoving the guy more forcibly away from him, clutching the jagged wound to put pressure on it. His sloppy attempt to control the situation and keep the scene low through sliding back into the crowed were shot to shit. When a child screams and points, eventually everyone nearby soon followed. Huffing at the scene before setting a hand on his shoulder, he pushes past the crowd and make his way towards Jake. ]

You and I need to talk. Now.

[ Voice low, Chris uses his free arm to grab Jake's arm. Sliding down to cock the kid's wrist back, twisting it slightly in an awkward angle. Easy enough for Jake to shrug out of, but more of a silent warning that he means business. There's a lot he needs to say to the other, and this time at least he was instigating a talk instead of dodging or irking the kid into shoving a gun in his face. ]

He or one of the other party members - more than likely Fili - could attend this one. Thorin felt partially responsible. Not only for their well being but also for this wound.
