→ Post with your character’s name, canon, and any preferences in the subject line
→ Those tagging, go to RNG and roll for a number between one and ten.
→ Alternatively, just pick the choice you’re interested in most.

1. A Bad Date - You get a text, a phone call, or maybe you can just see the other person floundering on what clearly must be the worst date of their life. Time to step in and save the day.

2. Prison - Maybe they've been wrongly convicted, or maybe you're an accomplice. Either way, it's jailbreak. Maybe the guards will fall for the old 'wounded prisoner' technique.

3. Taken Hostage - They're being held at gunpoint, either for money or for fun. Maybe you can talk down their captors, or maybe you are a captor, secretly working to help them.

4. Abuse/Neglect - Your body is damaged, your suffering taken it's toll. You can't save yourself anymore. You're wounded, you're starving, maybe even dying. Someone, help.

5. Addiction - Just one more. Nothing bad will happen if you just get one more. Either way, you can't save yourself from this downward spiral. Someone else is going to have to help.

6. Yourself - One bad choice after another, your self-destructive tendencies are going to get the best of you unless someone steps in, quick, to save the day.

7. Climactic Situation - You're hovering over an active volcano, a pit of sharks, about to fall off a cliff. Whatever it is, you've only got precious seconds of life left.

8. Loneliness - You've been secluded, locked away, and the emptiness is overwhelming. You need company, or you might just drown.

9. Unwanted Social Function - A family reunion, your three o'clock board meeting, whatever it is, you desperately don't want to go. Hopefully your good buddy can come up with a distraction.

10. A Bad Romance - You're trapped in a relationship that's headed south, and you can't seem to get away from the other person. Looks like you need a helping hand, maybe a prince charming.

No! The part of his mind still awake under the bright glow of the teseract's light rebelled. Thrashed and shouted and fought the order his mind was already processing to comply with.

He frowned. Confused by the inner conflict. Loki had asked for something, so he would get it. Clint did not have to worry about foolish things like guilt or betrayal. Just the job. And the next task.

"Yes Sir." Inside he was writhing in his own mind. Able to comprehend what he was doing but unable to do anything to stop it. Even to find the will to shut his own mouth. How could he be doing this?

But every time he grew close to escaping the prison that locked him up in the back corner of his mind as the Teseract pulled it apart and remade him something he was not. Loki's loyal soldier.

His mouth opened with words no one was ever meant to hear. Truth, open and dangerous, spilled from forth from his lips in the privacy of the secluded area. Mind and expression blank but for the occasional flicker of defiance trying to fight through the power gripping him tight.

So open and free did the information pour unfiltered through the agent's mouth. It gave Loki all the knowledge he needed that the Tesseract couldn't give him, but those controlled by the Tesseract's light could. It was what he required to deal with his 'captors', intimate information that were more than ample ammunition when used by his silver tongue.

For his good behavior, Loki reached out and ran an a soft had over Barton's cheek. It was a soothing touch, meant as much for the good agent as it did for the god of mischief. It had been so long since anyone touched him gently or he returned the gesture in kind.

"Good, very good."

He caressed that cheek and smiled at his agent, softly, not without mischief but temporarily absent was the malice that followed him around lately. His thumb caressed the side of the agent's face, running it along the small bow of the archer's lips, a mere miniature of the agent's beloved weapon.

"Good deeds have their brand of rewards."

Somewhere deep in Barton's heart the Tesseract wrapped itself around an orphan boy with a need to be wanted and accepted. And that buried emotion left Barton leaning ever so slightly into Loki's touch.

The blue-eyed archer was a willing tool to everything Loki required of him. And worse, he drew on every bit of energy, of dedication, and of knowledge instilled in him by Shield or absorbed in his years as the soldier he was trained into being. His mind was working against him. The Tesseract left him more than willing to do anything Loki asked of him. Showed him how simple life could be, the way he was always supposed to have lived. For the next order. The next mission.

It wasn't who he was. It wasn't what he wanted. And yet it was all he could do. Give in. Whatever Loki wanted. Whatever Loki needed. Clint reacted to it and provided it.

The Tesseract not only bound the real agent from reaching out, but blinded those who wished to see the real man within. While knowing that the will existed, Loki could no more see that brilliant fire that blazed than Barton could have it burn him.

All Loki had was the soft leaning touch, a real emotion if warped of its purpose, and he smiled genially down at the obedient man.

His hand traced down the mouth to the chin, past the neck until two fingers pressed against Barton's chest in an imitation of the scepter that turned him this way. Loki tapped the area lightly and felt the heart within pound under his fingertips. He smiled as he put his hand there spread over the steadily pumping heart. Did it speed up?

He smiled and leaned into the other's personal space, using the hold on that chest as a point of balance until he was breathing the same air the stoic man was.

"What do you think your reward should be, agent?"

The question changed in Barton's mind as he stood before the God. It shifted and twisted into What does Loki think my reward should be? He was free from these burdens now. Of freedom. Of choice. Free of the need to forge his own paths. The Tesseract showed him what needed to be done, and that was what he did. There needed to be nothing further than that.

But his determination and dedication, his desire to please Loki, it thrummed with the pulse of power through him. Making his mind twist and turn with that question. What reward would most please Loki? The God craved contact. He was a tool at Loki's disposal and Loki already had what he needed from Barton. A leader to guide the team and a mind to help get it through to break their God free of his cage.

But what did Loki want from Clint?

His pulse sped with the turmoil of the spark of self left in Barton's head, in his heart that loathed this man for everything he had done, would do, everything he stood for.

But that didn't matter. Because Loki rescued him from himself.

He tilted his head to the side, pale blue eyes focusing with no apprehension, no fear, no uncertainty.

"You have given me everything, sir. I need no further reward."
