Huh... There's a mistletoe right above you... Well, I guess it is less than a month away from Christmas. And it looks like you got stuck right under that mistletoe with someone else. And you both can't move until you kiss one another (Of course, not specifying where that kiss needs to happen).

He gives a wheezy little chuckle. "I expect that debate would end in flinging plasma bolts, but as long as I'm not personally involved, I'd happily buy tickets to watch the show."

Fortescue's vaguely aware that this would make a sort of oddity show, but there's plenty of that in her world. There's an entire ring of the fighting circuit dedicated to magic users back home. Most of them warlocks, seeing as warlocks tend to be the most common and their magic is nestled in aggressive emotions.

It's a lot more constructive than just plain old attacking people.
