THE BITTY MEME.

Simply put. You are a small child. Or alternatively someone dealing with a small child. Either you turned into a kid or you're having to deal with a friend or individual who is now a child.
1. Playground: You're on a playground, either wrangling a small child or you're playing on the best playground, ever.
2. Toys: You're a kid in a toy store! Hooray!
Or..You're an adult in a toy store! Damn it!
3. Big Bad "something or other": You're a scared small children for some reason, maybe there's thunder or explosions or something.
4. Food Too much sugar, too much something or other.
5. Making Friends and Wildcard option: Your character's a kid. Go nuts with that.
And also 3 why not EVERY SNUGGLE OKAY
The problem isn't that Elliot is out on a mission. The problem is that Edgar and Rachel are in a room all the way down the hall, and the hall is precisely where the terrifying creaking noises are coming from.
It's all he can do, really, to get to the other side of the room and scramble up into his older brother's bed, really.
COME HERE BB BROTHER
Even if he is a bit of a grump when roused from his slumber, "Mmnmmf-- Aidan?"
/FLIES INTO ARMS INSTANTLY and also yes Aidan because of Actual Dad Elliot Reynolds.
He'll wait until he's gotten himself squirmed properly into the crook between his brother's arm and the mattress, safe and secure, before answering.
"I h-heard a noise."
/SMOOSH Ahhh yes.
Though he's waking up a little more at the fretful mutter.
"Yeah? Wha' kinda noise?"
the best thing ever ;w; <3
And he's certainly not going to check, now that he's safe and secure here in this spot against his brother's side. He's also probably not going to let Arik go check either. This bed seems like the best place to be for strategic safety purposes.
"Just-- in th' hall. Sounded big."
Or like the house settling. But probably a monster.
so much so <3333
He could sound more concerned about it, but listening hard doesn't indicate any major noise. He pulls his arms protectively around his brother anyways, just in case.
"'ve got you."

Best, clearly, to just burrow a little deeper into the safety.
"C' I stay here?"

"'Course, Aidan."

But there's still a very real sigh of relief for the permission being officially granted.

"Y're silly," he breathes in response to the sigh of relief.

"...oh."
Eloquent, surely, for an exhausted child.

"Go t'sleep, Aidan."

This is an easy place to sleep. This will always be the safest place to sleep in the entire world--somehow even safer than curling between any of their parents.
"I love you."
There will probably never be a night the younger boy doesn't fall asleep murmuring it.

There's absolutely not a day that will go by that Arik won't say it or say it back. That's the way they've been raised, after all. That's the way they've learned to express their feelings. It's a good thing, really.
