minor injury meme.

You or your meme partner has been hurt, but don't worry! This time around it's not that bad. You can still limp your way out of this mess.

INJURIES.
1. Sprain/strain. How did you screw up walking?
2. Broken bones. Simple fractures still hurt.
3. Cuts. Hopefully one of you has a sewing kit.
4. Burns. Location, location, location. Let's pray this one isn't on your ass.
5. Concussion. No, they're most likely not holding up fifteen fingers.
6. Other. I'm not a doctor.

HOW'D IT HAPPEN.
1. Stupidity. You did this to yourself.
2. Accident. Is an unintentional attack still an attack?
3. Attack. Don't lie, you deserved it.
4. Other. It's probably still your own fault.

WHERE'D IT HAPPEN.
1. Home. Did you remember to invest in a first aid kit?
2. School/Work. This should be excellent for getting you out of doing stuff!
3. Outdoors. Predators like the smell of blood. Clean up asap.
4. In the water. Hopefully there aren't any sharks!
5. Other. Like a hospital. That'd be handy.

"Okay, I can do this!" Giving up isn't in Ash's vocabulary, so he takes a few more steps, trying to use the strength in his arms and not his armpits. Pikachu follows beside Professor Oak so he doesn't get in his trainer's way. Guess there won't be any shoulder riding for a while.

"I think I'm gettin' the hang of it..." Not completely, but his last couple steps were better than his first couple. And he hasn't fallen yet, which is also a good thing.

"Take small steps." But suddenly, Sam is reminded of something. "To get up and down stairs... you might have to crawl if you can't use the crutches safely." He'd never even considered that a possibility... but he's pretty sure Ash doesn't want to crawl everywhere anymore than he wants to use the crutches. At least this is a bit more dignified.

"Oh," He was about to try for a bigger step but small steps. He can do that. What he can't do, however, is stop himself from giving Professor Oak an odd look when he's told that he might have to crawl.

"I'll havta crawl?" Sounds like he'll be crawling to his room tonight. Though hopefully, home will be the only place where he'll be crawling.

"Maybe, it depends on how fast you get used to the crutches." Meanwhile, Sam bends down to pick up Pikachu. If Pikachu can't ride on Ash's shoulder, at least it can be on the same level if Sam carries him.

"I think I've gotten the hang of 'em! I'll keep practicing so I can go up the stairs with 'em!" It's a weird thing to say, but it'll keep him a little busy. Though likely not recommended either since it would mean more walking around.

Pikachu will happily accept being picked up by Professor Oak. Much easier to hear them when he's at the same level and not on the ground.

"Well, while you're practicing, would you like to come visit the Growlithe? We can see how it's doing." As long as Ash doesn't put any weight on that foot, he can "run" around as much as he likes, as far as Sam is concerned.

"Of course! I wanna see how the Growlithe is doing!" Ash will be okay as long as he doesn't forget that he shouldn't be putting weight on the foot, but he's been doing a good job so far. Even with seeing the Growlithe becoming his number one priority he is gonna be doing it while practicing so no reason to forget!

NPC'ing Tracey briefly~

[personal profile] symbolofstrength 2014-12-15 08:50 pm (UTC)(link)
Sam leads the way to where the Growlithe is lying on a bed with Tracey watching over it. The two briefly discuss the nature of both Growlithe and Ash's injuries before Tracey takes his leave.

Sam goes to hold out a chair for Ash; at least the Growlithe seems to just be asleep now, rather than knocked out.

Ash slowly sits down in the chair with little struggle, almost just flopping into the chair than sitting down in it. But he ignores his near goof and looks at the Growlithe. Although it's not awake Ash was glad to see that it looked okay and that it was sleeping. However, he wants to hear what Tracey had said so:

"So is it okay, Professor? What did Tracey say."

"No severe injuries, but there was something that worried him." Sam takes a seat next to Growlithe and leans over it, gently pressing a hand into the fur on its side. His eyes widen when he feels what's there, and his expression darkens as he takes his hand away.

"And he was right. Feel, Ash." Though not visible under all that fur, the Pokemon's ribs are able to be felt quite well. The poor thing is half-starved.

"Huh?" Ash watches Oak as he leaned over it. He frowns a little when he sees the Professor Oak and nods his head. Leaning over to the Growlithe himself he gently presses a hand into the fur where Professor Oak had it.

His eyes widen a little themselves before he pulling his hand away. Even he could get the idea of what was wrong, and his face shows how bad he feels. It must have been attacking the Rattatas because it was probably desperate for any food that the small rat Pokemon might have had. If only he had noticed then he would have tried to bring it to the Professor without knocking it unconscious.

"You'll be able to help it, right?"
symbolofstrength: (how dare you)

[personal profile] symbolofstrength 2014-12-17 12:36 am (UTC)(link)
Sam nods gently, briefly and gently petting Growlithe. He wants to comfort it, but at the same time, he doesn't want it to wake up right now; it might attack again.

"Yes, I have soft food that should be easy on its stomach. I'll make sure Growlithe gets back on its feet, you did the right thing bringing it here." He looks down at Growlithe again, lip curling in disgust. But it's not the Pokemon that he's disgusted at.

"Growlithe aren't wild around here, and Tracey confirmed that it's not one of mine. Either it traveled far to get here, or it has a human to take care of it." Under a very loose definition of 'take care', considering its current state. "If someone let their Pokemon get to this state, or even did this on purpose..." Sam growls at the very thought. He is not an aggressive man, and certainly not violent. But moments like this make him almost consider it. "I'll check with our local authorities, see if anyone has a pet Growlithe registered."

Ash gives a small nod. He's glad that he brought it here as well, though it doesn't quite relieve the guilt he's feeling at the moment.

"I'll help too, if that's okay. I wanna see this Growlithe get better." Even if there isn't much that he can do if there is anything, anything at all then he'll be willing to do it.

He frowns at the idea of someone allowing their Pokemon to get to this state. Especially if they did it on purpose. In that respect Growlithe reminds him of Pignite when he found it as a Tepig. Abandoned with rope around its snout. Maybe the latter wasn't done on purpose, but the image still causes knots in his stomach.

And that's only one case. Ash has seen many cases on his travels, and it never gets any less upsetting.

"They're not a good trainer if they let this happen to their Pokemon," it's nothing more than a mutter. Really, if they treat their Pokemon like this then they don't even deserve to have Pokemon; even Team Rocket takes care of their Pokemon even though they're an evil team who tries to steal Pokemon.

"If you're gonna check I'll stay here with the Growlithe 'til you get back." Someone should stay and watch it.
symbolofstrength: (good idea)

[personal profile] symbolofstrength 2014-12-17 11:27 am (UTC)(link)
"Oh, no, not right this minute. You're still injured, and Growlithe isn't in the best shape either. Once you're both feeling better." He can also send Tracey, if it comes to that.

"If Growlithe really was someone's pet, then the way they treated it may have it feeling wary of humans. Once it's got some food in its belly, you can help me regain its trust, how about that?"

Ash nearly says that he's already feeling better, but with the Growlithe in mind he just nods his head. He can accept that.

"Yeah, of course! I'll do whatever it takes to help you regain its trust!" He says this with a big smile. Though 'whatever it takes' probably implies too much especially in his condition he'll certainly try his best regardless.
