For humans, blood is thicker than water; for wolves, the pack is to the bone. Of course, with humans, romantic relationships can complicate closeness of other sorts. That's not the case with werewolf pairings, as they tend to grow out of natural pack dynamics and are viewed as just another facet of life. The only difference is that werewolves tend to treat relationships, even potential would-be-mates, with extreme seriousness. Vincent had been on his own for a very long time. His pack had kicked him out when they found out how...odd he was. Ever since he'd been living life apart from the werewolf community, trying to keep a job and feed himself-he was never much good at hunting-and avoid tangling with humans outside of work. Still, his cabin in the woods always felt so empty. He tried keeping pets, but animals could sense the wolf side, among his other peculiarities.

He'd tried retail, he'd tried waiting tables, even bar-tending, but he was such a klutz and his monthly disappearances around the full moon didn't help. So he took up a home business fixing things. He was good at it, be it a boat motor or the latest Apple device. And he made good enough money to fix his cabin up, and, most important, make his own hours so that he didn't have to worry about calling in sick when the moon rose.

But, despite it all, he still wished he could have company, a fellow wolf being ideal.

The moon would be out tonight so Vincent went for a walk to the store to pick up anything he needed. On his way back, loaded down with bags, he was quite sure he felt eyes on him. "H-Hello?"

There's a distinct scent that most wolves put out - others like himself generally being the only ones that'll pick up on it but sometimes a human will too, if they've a particularly keen sense of smell.

Raleigh walks in the daylight without worry, though - he's become accustomed to cloaking himself with different pheromones and the like, because he's not keen on being noticed.

But sometimes that isolation is crushingly lonely.

It's going to be a full tonight and he too is stocking up but -- he wonders.

"Afternoon," he murmurs, stepping from the shadows, bag on his arm.

"Hello" Vincent greeted again, the short hairs on the back of his neck rising. It was another wolf, he could smell him! He swallowed thickly. "L-Listen I...if you're from the Waterfront Pack...I-I told you, I want nothing to do with you guys..." he said, ready to drop his bags and run if need be, but he hoped he didn't have to...

He swallowed again. "If...if not then..." Then what? Move along? Get lost? Hello again? Come home with me so I don't have to be alone during the moon again?...Most likely that last one.

[The hot days of summer were finally beginning to give way to the coolers days and nights of autumn. Though it meant the pack would have to hunt more frequently to get ready for winter, Aqua was happy with the change of weather. Summer was okay, but she loved the crisp, cool scent of autumn and sound of leaving crunching beneath her feet. She was also bias about it because she was born around that time. Another year had come and gone, leaving her older and wiser for it. Though this year she found herself reaching a pivotal point in her life.

One of the elders took it upon himself to choose a mate for her. Aqua was one of the few females in the pack and finally had come of age to be paired off. She didn't know what was more surreal; she could mate or that her mate had been chosen for her. Seimei was the Alpha of the pack and whom the elder paired her up with. The elder believed the two were suitable matches for one another. Aqua wasn't about to question it, but she was still taken aback by the sudden news.

She excused herself from the pack by saying she was going hunting. A not so clever excuse for her to place some distance between herself and the others just so she could process the hand she was dealt. As long as she came back with a kill no one would question her. She wanted to be alone with her thoughts and found herself sitting as a human besides a tall tree with one knee drawn up to her chest.]

[Seimei never let his pack wander too far, and he naturally followed Aqua. Her scent was perfectly easy to track as a wolf, and she will of course hear him approaching. He made no secret that he followed her, though he has come alone. The light pawprints of four wolf paws stopped and after a moment of crunching and stretching back into a human shape, the calm and collected steps of the alpha approached. He walked calmly around the tree, looking down at her.]

He's only joined the Karasuno pack recently, but Hinata's the one who he's most loyal to, though he's no alpha. There's a closeness there and he's not entirely sure how to interpret it. Is it just a close friendship or is it more than just that?]

[At first, Hinata objected to Kageyama constantly being on his tail. Kageyama was bigger than him, and pushed him around all the time! But ever since a particularly successful hunt between the two of them, Kageyama's settled down and Hinata's more willing to work with him. There has been a sort of... difference, lately. [The day had come to an end with most of the pack returning to their pack, taking back their kills to share with everyone. They were preparing for the colder months ahead. The winter season usually placed some stress on the pack. Snow storms made it harder for them to hunt. Then there was the fear for the pregnant females and their pups. The last thing any wolf wanted to do was shift forms and get help as a human. They wanted to stay as far away from the humans as possible.

Luckily the Alpha managed to find suitable shelter big enough to house everyone.

Aqua was the last wolf to make it back to camp. She avoided the others, heading straight for the Alpha, her Alpha. Normally she would be inclined to share what she killed, but not this catch. She caught and trapped two hares, perfect to share with the wolf she cared for the most. Carrying her kills in one hand, she began to move through the camp, trusting her nose and eyes to find Angeal.]
