h/c smut

hurt/comfort smut;
a multi-character post

Bruised. Beaten. Stabbed. Sapped of energy. Tricked. Mentally played and abused. Perhaps you've even seen your home world destroyed, depending on how Homestuck you are. Any way you slice it, characters go through a lot of crap.

There's nothing wrong with wanting to see them get pampered and taken care of when they're ailing. In canon, they may not have someone who can provide them with care when they're injured, support and love when they're sick, and physical intimacy all around. In this post, AU or other scenarios can provide them with a caretaking partner of their very own (or, maybe, someone to take care of, if the reverse is their preference). So, for once, weary traveler, you don't have to carry that weight all by yourself.

to bring you out of the darkness;

The injury may not be a temporary physical or mental one, however. Some characters suffer more deeply, even if they don't know it. Darkness covers their hearts, they're withdrawn, insecure, angry, or lonely. They need someone to reach out to them and show them unconditional love.

This post can provide that, too.

Whether it be the cliche and shameless "changed by your love" trope or something more subtle like getting someone to open up, the characters here can offer that and more. All are welcome, they just have to take that first step.

I've missed playing him! Forgive me if I'm a bit rusty.

He paused.

"...You're lying, Amelia."

no worries!

"No-oo." There was a pause in her response, her stubbornness failing. Amy sighed. "I don't know. I don't know what's wrong. Something's not right though. I feel like-- I'm missing something, you know?"

Even vocalizing it wasn't helping. She shook her head. She trusted him to tell her if he knew if anything was off, but by his response he didn't seem to.

He reaches up to feel her forehead, as though it would do something.

"Memories? Or strange thoughts?"

She looked up at him with a pout, completely unsettled. "Just a feeling," she replied.
allthecoolgear: (What?)

He doesn't feel anything. Nothing in the air or in the dust. He thinks about telepathy, but he doesn't dare, not without permission. Instead, he puts a comforting arm around Amy.

"What sort of feeling?"

"I don't know," she answered before taking a deep breath. Amy tried to focus on what she was feeling, that off-ness. Something was just wrong.

"Lonely." It was the only word that came out, and it even surprised her.

"Ah."

He paused, trying to put his words in order before he said them.

"I feel like that, too, sometimes. The feeling of being alone, even in a room full of people."

Amy didn't understand it though. She was always one to fit in, a side affect from moving to England as a young child. She had to adapt, and she did it well. But it was different now. Like something just didn't feel right.

"Something's missing, Doctor. Maybe it's just from the cracks or having my memory wiped, but something just feels off about it, Doctor," she told him as she looked up, concerned.

"Amy..."

He pulls her into a full hug, trying to determine their next course of action.

"There's any number of things that could be wrong, but I promise, I'll do my best to fix them. I won't ever leave you out in the cold, Amy."

She rested her head on his shoulder, trying to shake off the feeling. This did help in some way, and she knew the Doctor wouldn't leave her again. Everything just felt vacant in her head though. Her hug grew a little tighter as she held him there.

"I know. I just wish I knew what it was," she told him. That was frustrating as well.

The Doctor held her for a long moment.

"We could try telepathy, if you like?"

She looked up at him suddenly, hopeful. "Do you think it could help?" She asked, knowing he would have an answer for her. "What do I have to do?"
allthecoolgear: (What?)

[personal profile] allthecoolgear 2014-11-29 10:18 pm (UTC)(link)
"I don't know if it'll fix it, exactly, but it will give me a better idea of what's going on. Not very clear, telepathy, more of an abstract picture."

He leads her over to sit on the nearby steps, and sits beside her.

"Just relax. You might feel a bit of a push, on your mind, but it's only me."

The Doctor hesitates, putting his hands on either side of Amy's face.

"You're sure you're okay with this?"

She did everything he said to, moving to sit beside him on the steps. Amy took a deep breath, one hand moving to his leg to just have something to hold on to. "I trust you," she told him. Amy always had since she was a little girl. Nothing had changed, and she just wanted to feel more like herself again.

Slowly, he brings their foreheads together to touch.

"Close your eyes, and just relax."

He does the same, and gently sends out his mind to hers.

She felt her shoulders drop as she relaxed, his forehead touching hers. She did feel him, the sudden intrusion on her mind. But she exhaled slowly through her nose, and let him see everything, how damaged the cracks have left her. The fear was there, of losing more as well as everything that the cracks took away, leaving huge holes in her memories. She didn't know what to do, but maybe he could see something.

Amy's mind felt like a rainbow of colors to him, with streaks of black that the cracks left across it. It was beautiful and sad, and he tentatively reached out to touch one of the ugly black fears.

It was like touching ice, and Amy could instantly feel herself trying to block him. It was emotional pain, but as soon as he touched it, it shattered like glass. She wasn't sure why or what he was doing, but to her it was like an overwhelming sense of sadness and then the peace that comes after a loss.
allthecoolgear: (What?)

[personal profile] allthecoolgear 2014-11-30 04:16 pm (UTC)(link)
"It's only me," he murmured, reminding.

With the black spot gone, the colors returned to that area of Amy's mind, swirling beautifully like one of Vincent's paintings. The Doctor turned, and looked at the other dark spots. There was a lot of work to be done here, but he refused to leave Amy in such a state.

Amy held him close, still feeling that sorrow. It was easier to let it to when the Doctor touched it, disintegrating the darkness in her mind, but that didn't mean it was a pleasant feeling or that the mental exhaustion didn't have its own toll on her. But she knew she wasn't alone, and that fact alone made her feel better about all of this, as hard as it was to bare the emptiness of her memory to him.
allthecoolgear: (This is mildly amusing)

[personal profile] allthecoolgear 2014-12-01 08:01 am (UTC)(link)
The Doctor understood how difficult this must be for Amy. Humans were not telepathic, usually, and giving your mind up to be explored is a personal thing.

He moved to the next black spot, and the next, banishing the terrible thoughts to god-knows-where, and so on with any spot he could see.

[personal profile] unwrote 2014-12-01 04:13 pm (UTC)(link)
By the end if it Amy's head had dropped to his shoulder. She was emotionally drained, and while she knows she'll feel better, right now it's almost worse than when he began. One hand clings to him as she just leaned against him, quietly. She lets the space in her mind fill up.
allthecoolgear: (sigh)

[personal profile] allthecoolgear 2014-12-01 05:12 pm (UTC)(link)
The Doctor couldn't tell when the space of Amy's mind had bled back into reality. All he knew was that the black spots in Amy's mind had gone, and they were both so terribly exhausted that they couldn't bring themselves to move from the (rather uncomfortable after such a long time) stairs.

It could have been something on the last planet that amplified it or maybe it was all starting to weigh in her, culminating in this. She kept leaning against him until her legs and back told her she needed to move. But she didn't want to stray from him, not while everything felt so raw.

"Can we go sit down?"

"Yes, of course," he murmured. Slowly, he forced his protesting joints to move and pull them both up to a standing position.
