There's nothing in the rules about whether or not your character knows s/he must obey - as well, the other character might not know that s/he must be obeyed. Play it however you like.

Don't like the orders you got? Not willing to have your character follow them, even if you've had a good time up to this point? Talk to the other player, use OOC notes or PMs, try and work it out.

[ Sharon storms into his office. She's been working with the CIA for nearly a year now, and in that time, she's done everything SHIELD has asked of her. She stayed on at the CIA despite how others were rebuilding SHIELD. She did drudge work while others put their lives on the line.

But now she's pissed, and her faith in the system isn't enough to keep her quiet any longer. He'd known she was working on that op. He'd known how important it was that she be seen to have nothing to do with SHIELD. Having any ties with them at all was dangerous enough. But to have them crash her op and make it look like she'd tipped them off? Which... she had. But it didn't look good, damn it.

She slams her hands on his desk and glares at him. ]

Director. Next time you decide to potentially blow over a year of undercover work, you fucking tell me first. Do you understand me?
