I have loved you for a thousand years... Some say that if a pair of lovers die together in tragedy, they will get another chance when they are reborn. Even if the two of you keep losing each other, you'll get to meet again. This meme is that meeting. For the first time? For the hundredth time? That much isn't clear. What is clear is that on this, your seeming first meeting - Everything rushes back to you. Memories, emotion, and all the comes with it...including the memory of how you two died. Overwhelming, isn't it? Some people find it hard to accept, for good reason. What will you do? You can't just bring it up, they'll think you're crazy! Maybe you don't want to bring it up, as you refuse to believe it yourself. And even if you do believe it, that doesn't mean you have to embrace it. You're your own person, after all. You refuse to love someone merely because of who you were in the past. Or maybe you can't help but let these feelings rise to the surface because they're too strong. No matter what, you can't repress it. In fact, the more you two meet and spend time together, the more you find yourself falling back into the old roles...and making the old mistakes. That isn't good, though; there's one more thing. One of you, when you first met, had a vision about how the two of you would die this time. You can't let that happen. Not again. Comment with your character and your preferences. Feel free to do a modern AU of your character. Assumed CR and AUs are a must here. Don't feel obligated to stick with first meetings. Play that the characters have known each other for a while, are trying to have a relationship while trying to be their own unique selves, not having a relationship because THE PAST DOESN'T DEFINE ME, or even trying to avoid death in an adventurous fashion! [How about ancient priestess he used to know (and love/fight with a bunch?) reincarnated in the body of a nineteen year old hooker? And maybe he's been coming to see her a couple of times because he recognized her "essence" or whatever. Except she hasn't recognized him. Until now.]

[Hahaha I can see that. Especially considering how hedonistic some of the Sumerian and Egyptian priesthoods were. He especially spent a lot of time bumming around Egypt (and even got chopped up by assassins and put back together by his friends, sparking the Osiris myth). He's had enough sex over the centuries that he rarely indulges for its own sake, but he totally has a habit of sort of adopting people because they make him feel nostalgic. So he could absolutely have been picking her up and paying her well just to like... take her to dinner and a movie or something weird. What a weird guy, right? But he could easily make some offhanded comment that gets the ball rolling with her memories, if that works for you!]

The Doctor was outside the door and frowned. He, himself, talked to himself but this? It was rather odd, even for Rory.

The Doctor pushed the door open and burst in.]

Rory! I couldn't help overhear you, uh, talking to this mirror. Are you alright?

Rory shook his head. "Yes, I'm fine. Don't ask." He slipped the note card into his pocket, hoping that The Doctor wouldn't either ask or tell Amy. And probably wouldn't use this version anyway.

Right. Ok. I think I get it. Or, maybe I don't. [He walked up to the mirror and stared at Rory through the glass for a few seconds. Was he talking about...him? No, it couldn't be, could it? It must be Amy, surely.]

Rory? I hate to break it to you, mate but....I don't really see us that way. [He slapped a hand on Rory's shoulder and offered him a sorry smile.]

I am really flattered if you do actually want to love me for a thousand years. That's great but I just don't.....you know? [He pointed between both of them and made some strange hand gestures.]

"Thank goodness." Rory shook his head. "Because neither do I. You're the only other person I know who can claim to be hundreds of years old. And to have died frequently." That part still confused him. He didn't remember them all. But a few he did. "But you just aren't my type I'm afraid."

The other girls warned her, early on, about the saviors. The white knights who want to save the strippers and the hookers of the world. The guys who'll pay the fee just to take a girl to dinner or to a movie, show her a little honest affection so she knows that the world isn't as bad as she's been led to believe; there are still decent people out there. It never lasts, they said, the women with their bright red mouths and tired eyes lined with black. So take what you can while you can. In the end, they'll show their true colors. Just like everyone else.

It all sounded a bit like a fairy-tale to Anne. Too good to be true. Until he came along.

He comes to her corner every third Tuesday, pays her in crisp hundred dollar bills, and then-- Nothing. He'll treat her to a bite to eat, take her to that movie she wants to see, or take her to the arcade, let her act like a teenager for once. The first few times, it burns all the way down to her bones. It's worse, somehow, than being shoved up against a damp brick wall or pushed down on worn motel sheets. At least then she's earning her pay, rather than stuffing her face on someone else's dime, or sitting stiffly on the edge of a seat at the cinema. Anne Parker was never a charity case, but it's how he makes her feel.

His name is David, or so he says, and that's about all she knows about him. He's handsome, soft-spoken, and he has never laid a finger on her.

It's Tuesday now, and she lingers on her usual corner, perched atop the bench by the bus-stop, she pretends to read a beat-up paperback she picked up from a motel room two nights ago. (She's beginning to understand why it was left behind.) Her short skirt and fish-nets aren't much protection against the chill of October and her teeth chatter in the wind. The leather jacket she wrapped around herself is thick and too big for her, and if it wasn't Tuesday she wouldn't let herself wear it. But it is Tuesday, and she has to trust that he is coming.
