You've messed up. Whether it be a small squabble over who got the last beer or a big, big betrayal, you have hurt your lover/spouse/significant other/friend with benefits enough to get them angry with you. For the moment, this relationship is on the rocks. But still, you want to make things right.

After your apology and attempts to make amends, or perhaps as part of that attempt, you need something to reaffirm the bond between you two. There's something to be said for make up sex; it can help you both heal you hurts - and, at the very least, it can show that you can be in the same room together.

She didn't remember much after Antoine had rescued her; the last thing she remembered with clarity was waking up in the hospital bed with needles plugged into her arms. Antoine had been there, of course, and the first thing she'd asked him - after making sure they'd really taken out the Hydra base - was for him to unplug the heart monitor. She didn't like being hooked up to a lie detector any more than he did.

Whatever nanotech they'd used on her had worked like a charm. Her ribs had healed first, her fingers shortly thereafter - she'd developed the somewhat annoying habit of bending them absently when she was thinking to make sure they really did work. She was surprised how little time it had taken, though she couldn't pretend she wasn't glad to be back in the gym and getting back into shape. The only real vestige of her experience was how hungry she was; the time not spent in the gym was often spent in the kitchen.

Which was where she was, standing over a pot as she chatted with Mack and Fitz. She'd told Antoine to be in his room in twenty minutes.

Mack crossed his arms and looked dubiously into the pot.

"It isn't Kraft Mac & Cheese," she said defensively. "What? I'm not the greatest cook, I know. It could be bologna sandwiches, you know."

Mack pressed his lips together and shook his head. He was too polite and kind to say what he was thinking. "Are you sure you don't need help?"

"He's good at it," Fitz offered, fiddling with some tech at the kitchen island. "At the, uh- uh... Figuring... stuff out."

She peered into the pot, then turned her head to look over the ingredients. She curled her fingers as she considered her cooking skills. "Fine," she said at last. "Fine. Help me."

Twenty-five minutes later, she knocked on Antoine's door, a tray with two bowls of pasta, utensils, two glasses, and a plate of bread in her hands. A bag over her shoulder held a bottle of wine. She was lucky Natasha and Sam had left some of her own clothes with her - she would have felt worse showing up in SHIELD-issued sweats instead of the jeans, T-shirt, and heels Natasha had thought to send.

Belatedly, she realized that with her hands full, she couldn't check her hair one last time. She closed her eyes and shook her head. She should have thought about it before.

On the other hand, it figured their first romantic meal - not really a date - would have something go wrong. They'd be lucky if it was just faintly frizzy hair on her part.

( setting this a few years post-Last Olympian, so that the age difference won't be so inappropriate haha. forgive any mistakes I make with the canon, a bit rusty with PJO. also we can pretend that HoO didn't happen )

Annabeth would not permit anyone (outside of Chiron and Will Solace, who was pretty much the camp's official healer) inside the room where Luke lay recovering from his injuries. He had redeemed himself during the war, but there were still a few people at the camp who were angry with him. She wasn't sure if she should count herself among them, because she had certainly been mad when she found out that he'd disappeared, and madder still when he did not attempt to contact her.

The timing of it all reeked of cliche: she'd all but decided to give up on him when--lo and behold!--he showed up bloodied and battered at the edge of the camp.

She gripped the knife holstered at her hip so tightly that her knuckles turned white. She took in a deep breath to steady her nerves. All this time she had refused to talk to him. The silent treatment couldn't last forever, though, not when she wanted answers.

"I'm ready to talk if you are," she said carefully.

[ He doesn't do apologies, but he knows he's fucked up when he gets the silent treatment for over a week. It takes him that long to suck up the weird sense of rejection he feels he's earned to actually talk to Cas, and by then, the feeling has settled into a hard knot in his stomach. They've argued plenty of times before, but it's not like he can help keeping half the things he does from him or Sam. It's to keep them safe, and if they can't get that-- well, apparently being outright ignored like he doesn't exist is what he gets for the trouble. Dean swallows and forces himself into the spare room of the bunker they'd given Castiel, though he'd taken to staying with Dean more often than not, and he doesn't like coming here. It means things are wrong. He doesn't have a choice though, and he knocks once before letting himself in.

He slips into bed with him without any invitation, breath warm against the back of Cas' neck as he slides an arm around him. He's missed having him this close, being able to tangle himself around the solid stretch of body pressed so intimately to his. He sucks in a mouthful of air and exhales slowly, quietly. ]

I should've told you, I know that. I just-- I'm sorry, man. [ He's been sorry for the last five days, and it's quiet, trying to wedge himself even closer in case he decides to give him the boot. All he wants is to be told it's okay so things can go back to normal. ]
