Despite being a half-breed (a point of contention between himself and the big boys, downstairs - Melchior won't let him forget it), he's territorial, and he's here to investigate; curious and nosy as an overgrown, sulphuric cat. There's a smoggy flicker of hellfire across his pupils; a dead giveaway if facing, say, a certain exorcist.

Pausing at the doorway, he hesitates - leans a shoulder against the frame instead of entering; demons and their turf.

Snippily, attention skittering across Petre's face: ] Well, what do we have here?

[ Sherlock's shopping habits can hardly be said to be regular (sometimes he goes to the local market, sometimes he travels into Manhattan, sometimes he just uses an app to have the groceries delivered), but it's not, judging from the ease with which he makes his way through the crowd, his first time at the Union Square Greenmarket. He knows which booths he's looking for, which fruits and vegetables. Though, then again, maybe it is his first time here, and he's just figured out the layout already. (It's not too hard, in the end, even with the surprise NBC Experience pop-up booth in the middle of it all.)

It's only once he's reached a particularly fresh-looking selection of fruit and the people milling about it that he comes to a stop, his brow furrowing more and more deeply over the edge of his scarf, which covers the entire bottom half of his face.

When he speaks, it's to the person next to him, and one could be forgiven for thinking that they might be unacquainted. ]

[ The snow catches him unaware, sitting close to the fire Dean had put together in order to roast the marshmallows they'd brought with them. There's also a few bottles of liquor, one empty and the other close to it. Castiel hadn't found the combination quite as pleasing as some things, but the warmth that had accompanied the drinking and Dean's proximity hadn't deterred him from sampling all of it. Now, with the temperature dropping and white beginning to settle lightly on the ground, hissing as it melts into the fire, he thinks they should move somewhere more sheltered from the elements.

Castiel stands, finding his balance more than compromised even as he tries to pull Dean to his feet as well. A step, and he's stumbling into him, an arm sliding around his neck. His own breath feels hot as he presses his nose to the other's cheek, caught between half a smile and an actual laugh. He feels invincible. He feels wanted, and it's such a strange epiphany to have. ]

Come with me. [ ... which is a bit slurred, quiet, but he's drunk. A little. Being human did seem to come with that consequence now. He slips his other hand into the layers Dean wears to warm his fingers. ]
