-There's probably like, s'more making or hotdog roasting too, who the fuck cares
-And cheesy sing-a-long songs
-And possibly even underwear burning or like throwing random things into the fire
-Or even dancing naked around it like the satanic witches you are.
-Since y'all are suckers for romance the bonfire is pretty fucking romantic
-It can also be pretty fucking platonic because let's face it sometimes you want to do shit with friends
-Just roll with the scenario, have fun, and enjoy the fucking bonfire because it really looks fucking awesome

Perhaps he might find a familiar face sitting by the fireside, tossing a few more logs onto the fire, preparatory to something else: on an nearby tree stump, he's got a bag of marshmallows, a box of graham crackers and a few bars of chocolate, all miraculously unnibbled, with some three foot long bamboo skewers propped against the stump.

[Despite this being only the first time Marie's ever gone camping, she's actually looking forward to doing it again. Of course anything's better than being stuck inside that stuffy car all day. That includes sitting on a log next to Seo, with a roaring fire in front of them. After having such a busy day hiking, fishing, and the like, it's almost strange to be relaxing now. Not that she's going to complain about having a chance to cook some hot dogs.

[ Sharon lazes against a her pack, her eyes on the fire. She's dirty, tired, and putting up a valiant effort to not show how much fun she's having. She'd thought that this would be a simple stop in Europe to give Natasha some intel she'd picked up and get some in return, maybe get a cup of coffee together, but she really should have expected things to go to hell. When the block party was thrown in Northtown, rain and all, Karmin had been expecting maybe his neighbors, a couple of acquaintances from Southtown and elsewhere, and a few stragglers coming along after others had started to disperse, so after the bonfire in the middle of the block had died down, a smaller one was started in the remains, the seating pulled further in. There was a makeshift awning set up to keep the persistent drizzle from putting the fire out now that they weren't constantly fueling it, and the spit that had been positioned over the top of the fire had been moved off, a few warm strips of alligator meat still sitting waiting to be taken.

He himself had dressed down in a thick, comfortable sweater over his leggings and under his cloak, and was warming his hands over the fire before anyone came up to him again.

It had been a long time since the human had been up in Northtown last; not as long in the Box as it was in her mind, but long enough that she had had to reacquaint herself. Things felt different. There were different people here. She'd forced herself to attend the bonfire in order to keep tabs on who had changed. She needed to reintegrate and she knew that, but bringing herself to say anything had been difficult. In the end she'd watched the blaze with eyes that were just a little too glossy to be quiet appreciation. Something about seeing the contained blaze in the rain felt just about right to her. Those flames were the prisoners. The rain, the ring, the watchers -- it was their prison, it was the people in charge of this shit-lustered hellhole.

Eventually she'd willed herself to pay attention to who'd been in charge. The troll was one of them. She wondered at him. He was one of the older ones, which meant that she wasn't sure what to expect -- hopefully not another shouting match to leave her throat hoarse for the evening, though she suspected not. Somehow this particular event had felt like it held deeper meaning than someone like Karkat would bother to put together.

Jo approached the troll some time after the smaller fire had been put together. She was wearing a waxed, hooded khaki poncho over her usual digs. -- slim pickings for someone rummaging after a long absence. Her long, black hair had been mashed in under the poncho hole and she looked ridiculous, but she didn't much care. The sharp lines of her face were set less harshly than usual. Something about the sort-of ceremony had put some warmth back into the pasty white of her face. "You put together something good," she told him simply. "Thanks for that. What's your name?"
