① fuck the police, this is the best time for a walk. hope you've got a nice thick coat on.

② stranded in the buttcrack of nowheresville? weren't you watching the time? now you've gone and missed that last bus out of there. or maybe you're lost, somehow. what do?

③ literally chilling, in this weather, is quite easy to do. sitting around relaxing in it is a wee more difficult, but sometimes much more enjoyable, especially if shelter can be found. the snow is beautiful to watch, after all.

④ the weather's not going to stop you. your snow fort's packed full of ammo and ready to go. those aren't snow angels over there; they mark where the poor souls you've downed have fallen. be careful with that snowman's head!!

⑤ you're about fifty miles from civilization but there's a roof over your head, so never mind the chilly draught, right? right. you mightn't be the only one lucky enough to stumble upon this little shelter, though. remember to share the blanket.

⑥ everyone stuck outside should be jelly. you've got a fireplace and hot cocoa and damn if it isn't awesome. a heater's not quite so romantic, but it'd do. there'd better be a backup generator in case the power trips.

[ Well, it COULD be worse. Either one of them could be alone all meanwhile they're out in this kind of weather and when its getting darker by the minute and having to set up camp at a mouth of a cave. But at least there is a small campfire near by next to their little shelter that Honori will be tending to before returning to her.

Well, returning with a make-shift umbrella and his scarf anyway. Best part of being half-snow spirit; You're practically immune to the cold. ]

It's not the best, but I've got a fire and enough going that should last us through the night. The snow flurries will probably be a pain for you, so you might want to borrow these for now.

Just let me know if you're hungry or thirsty. I've brought my basket with me just for situations like these.

Fluffy snowflakes drift softly downward, landing gently on the blanket covering the small town. The night is chilled but the stillness of the air keeps the nip gentle, and each warm exhale hangs visibly in the evening air. Street lamps light up everything like a storybook.

Madelyne’s anticipating a storm.

“I used to love the snow,” she says casually, as though tensions might not erupt into a fight at any provocation. But she’s leaning on a wall and watching the light snow fall, a few white flecks melting on her red hair -- not the most threatening she’s ever been, considering the last thing she said to Ororo was to watch her back.

Hinata had offered to go run errands with Kiyoko-san today for the club, but one thing had led to another and the two of them had gotten held up by the snow. Eventually they decided to attempt to keep going, but Hinata's teeth were chattering as little tufts of snow kept sliding in through the top of his boot. So cold. He hoped she wasn't as cold as he was, though. Hinata had tried to be a gentleman by offering to carry the two boxes of things they had grabbed, but now he regretted it because seeing over them was near impossible. ]

While most of the other club members opted to spend the practice indoors, he doesn't find the idea of being cooped up inside appealing at all. It's not snowing that badly, he reasons, what could go wrong?

Every once and a while, Minoru leapt into a new dimension in the worst possible spot. Whether it was appearing in a medieval world right in the middle of a witch trial or appearing at the bottom of a freakin' lake. This time.... it was right into a giant snowdrift. There was a blizzard swirling all around him and in a thin tunic, he was definitely not dressed the part.

Fortunately, there was a village in the distance.

Puffing a small fire jutsu to keep himself from completely freezing, he took off toward the lights beyond the trees. When he got closer, he was a bit confused. It looked like... home? Well, his original home. Had the Snake Lord Elders sent him home?!

"Halt." the main guard had his sword drawn. "Identify yourself."

"Seriously, have I been gone that long?!"

The guard pressed, and two others had their hands on their weapons, ready to strike if necessary.

"Minoru." he stated, as if it were obvious. "You know, the Hokage's brother."

There were a few mutterings of, 'He's crazy.' before Minoru simply leapt over their heads onto the wall. He was fast, agile, and boy did he have chakra to spare.

"Get him! Get him! Sound the alarm!"
"Call the Hokage! We have an intruder!"

For once the power in his building was actually being reliable, so he and Rachel could cuddle on the sofa underneath a plush blanket and quietly watch the snow fall together. He was especially pleased, because this reminded him of Christmas when they were younger. The only things missing were a tree and some hot chocolate.

He held her close to him, his head rested on her shoulder. As long as the power held out, Oswald found the falling snow beautiful.

An early winter night in Providence and Lovecraft has gone out for his usual evening walk. This night, however, an especially hard case of writer's block has his usually facile mind and so he's gone well off his usual beaten path through the Federal Hill district, across the Providence River and heading for parts south. Once he comes out of his reverie, he realizes he has no idea how far he's gone, and the area does not look familiar, the comfortable houses given way to mill buildings and tenaments. The light snow that had fallen around him earlier has grown heavier, not to blizzard proportions, but enough to start piling up on his shoulders and the top and brim of his winter weight fedora.

He'll turn up the collar of his topcoat, glancing around him and gripping his swordstick a little tighter before looking to retrace his steps, which have started to fill in...

(Inspired by a recent misadventure my dad and I had while driving through Providence and getting twisted around. Skeptic that he is, he's capable of seeing things most people can't or won't...)
