Who was murdered? I was.

-Post with your character and fandom, as well as any preferences.
-Go here and generate a random number between 1-10 for the setting
-If you want, you or the person tagging you can roll a number between 1-8 for relationship as well!
- You know what to do next, honey.
Possible settings:
1. Crime Scene: Dead body? Burglary? Whatever the crime, the area's been sectioned off for officers to investigate this nefarious deed, and you're getting front row seat.
2. Bar: There's always some hole-in-the-wall frequented by all sorts. The bartender keeps an eye out for trouble, and other things. Of course he keeps an ear to the ground, but it'll cost ya. Perhaps a cop or two will show up demanding answers, but no one ever takes that seriously.
3. Docks at Night: The breeze caressing your face, the sound of the water, the boats passing by...maybe you were called here, or maybe you just like the peace it brings.
4. Alleyway: There's only one way in and out of this little corridor, and what happens in it is up to you and the other character. Just watch for the shadows, if you can see through the fog.
5. Detective's Office: Not too clean, not too messy. Just perfect for the person that's needed to get this mystery cleared up.
6. Rooftop: The wind dramatically blowing about, it's the perfect place to get that person to come and meet you so you can tell them what you want. Or if you're evil, why not kill them up here? It'll be hard to escape you.
7. Dressing Room: For some reason, you're backstage after a performance, and you've gotten into one of these. The mirrors, the costumes, the flowers from fans and the various personal affects...all are present and will be your silent witnesses to whatever occurs.
8. Hideout: You've gotten to the antagonist's spot of choice. Is this a glitzy nightclub with a private room, or is this an abandoned warehouse where they-or you-carry out their plot? The choice is yours.
9. Nightclub: Someone's showcasing their talent tonight, and you may or may not care about it. But it's classic, dimly lit, and it's easy to hide in here.
10. Free choice
Possible relationships:
1. Friends: Maybe you're an unstoppable team, or perhaps your relationship is getting strained. But whatever the situation, you know this person, and you'd be there for them.
2. Coworkers/teammates/classmates: You might not be friends, but you know this person well enough to remember their name. And right now you're being thrown together for a reason.
3. Lovers: This is the one you wanted to stay with for now. Married, dating, or maybe an affair, but you two care about each other enough.
4. Enemies: Utter hatred flows through your veins when you hear this person's name. This is the one you want to take down, and you just might stop at nothing to achieve your goal.
5. Family: Perhaps it's a sibling you're meeting. Or your parent, or some form of relative. Remember that phrase "blood is thicker than water"? It just might apply here.
6. Mysterious Stranger: Someone's been eyeing you from across the room, or you've been eyeing them. Will you two speak, or shall they float out of your life? Do they hold information you seek, or do they want something from you?
7. Femme Fatale: You are or have encountered a mysterious and seductive woman, whose charms ensnare her lovers in bonds of irresistible desire, often leading them into compromising, dangerous, and deadly situations. Watch out, you might just get yourself into a real mess of trouble, hot stuff.
8. Free Choice

She'd been watching Auron from across the room for quite a while, and the more it becomes clear that this chump was a dead-end, the more tempted she is to try her chances with him. She rises from the table, and without a glance back, leaves him hanging him mid-sentence to sit next to Auron at the bar. Leaning forward, she rests her elbow on the counter next to him, her chin in her hands, and gives him a small smile.]
I hope you weren't saving this seat for anyone else...?

he gives a low chuckle, apparently amused with whatever he's seen in his assessment. although he makes no move to buy her a drink (curiously, he seems to have none of his own) he also doesn't turn away to face the bar once again. let her give this a shot.]
If I were, it would be the first time I'd saved anything.
[ha, ha ha. the amusement in his expression has a bit of private bitterness to it now, the kind that can only be picked out by someone searching for it.]

Disappointed in his lack of reaction, she crosses one leg over the other, letting the slit in her long, red dress expose the length of her pale leg. Not the most creative trick in her book, but she had to get the measure of this man first.]
A brooding drunk without a drink? [Her head tilted, her voice drops to a near purr.] What an intriguing one you are.

[and he has his constant companion, a flask on semi-permanent loan from a friend. it's the sort of thing that less reticent men would pull out to show by way of explanation, but Auron simply leaves it at that. this woman is here with an explicit purpose, and meaningful answers to the very questions she's asking don't contribute to that.]
Do you?
[the blunt response strips away most of the veneer of small talk, but there's not a trace of shame in Auron's expression. his words are accompanied with a tilt of his head that makes it clear he isn't oblivious to her attempts at charm - he simply doesn't care.]
no subject
I do, actually. I need your help.
[Her smile's gone now, and she tilts her chin down, eyes ever so slightly widened.]
I'm all alone here, you see, and I could use someone to talk to. Someone to keep me company. [She traces small circles on the countertop.] Won't you indulge me with just one drink?
no subject
he shouldn't indulge her, both out of politeness and to save his own small level of tolerance, but Auron is only here to kill time. he might as well do that with one of his characteristic shitty decisions.
he motions towards the bartender to fetch Hancock a drink, leaving the specifics up to her through his silence. it's likely to be something strong or expensive (or both), from what he's seen of her so far.]
You have until you finish it.
[a warning, or simply making the limits clear? it's impossible to tell from his tone.]
lots of kudos for playing auron, btw!
Much appreciated.
[When the bartender brings their glasses, she pushes one toward him, unaware of the flask he'd most likely rather drink from. Still, he wouldn't be here if he didn't like his liquor, and she hopes that having one in front of him will move things along.]
I hope you don't mind the presumption. I know you said otherwise, but I find that drinks tastes so much sweeter when enjoyed together.
[So she says, yet Hancock makes no move to take a sip of her own. No sense in drinking away her time limit just yet, and besides, to regain her footing she'll need to stay sober - the ever-growing feeling that she's on the back foot here is eating at her.]
ah, thanks! he's always been my favorite in x.
[he doesn't seem to be complaining exactly, since there's no attempt made to send the second glass back. for the moment Auron lets it sit in front of him, partly to see if she'll press the issue and partly because the whole thing brings back bittersweet memories. it's been some time since he's had a drinking partner, even one as temporary as this.]
But it won't buy you any more time.
no subject
[Yielding, she takes a sip from her glass, her eyes never leaving his. Or rather, his sunglasses.]
No, I'd like to make the most of your company, mister...?
no subject
[first name? last name? whatever it is, that's all he's giving out. rather than ask for a name in return, he drains half his glass to match her taking a drink. it's probably the closest thing to truly polite he's done all night.]
You won't be making as much as you're hoping for.
no subject
Then what are you still doing here?
no subject
[and he doesn't mean the drinks, he means inwardly laughing at her. that amused expression that grated so much on Hancock is back on his face in full force.]
no subject
You should be grateful you have any at all! You'd be entirely useless otherwise.
no subject
What a pity that would be.
