Autumn Meme
THE AUTUMN MEME

It's that time of year again; Autumn.
Whether it's raking the leaves or running to Starbucks for a Pumpkin Spice Latte,
the season is back upon us and it's time to enjoy it before winter comes.
Scenarios:
Look at all the pretty colors - Maybe you just feel like strolling down the street and looking at all the leaves turning colors. Maybe you're shopping for something to fit in with the autumn theme. Or you could be setting up an easel to try to capture how the trees look like they're on fire. Just enjoy the turning shades.
I didn't agree to be in this movie -Yes, it's that time again, fog time. It can be creepy or beautiful or both and guess what? You're trapped in it. Are you alone? Are you at home looking out the windows, or stuck somewhere waiting for it to clear so you can drive? Maybe you're walking home late at night and the fog is as creepy as hell and was that the sound of someone sharpening an axe?
Something to warm the cockles - Coffee house prompt. You want your pumpkin spice latte and you want it now. Or maybe you want extra nutmeg. Or maybe someone made a pumpkin cheesecake and you want the line to move faster before someone gets the last piece. You're in a coffee house and there's coffee. Have fun with that.
I just raked that - Yes, it's lawncare time. You've been ordered to clean up your yard and make nice efficient piles. Or maybe you're strolling down the street and you happen to see a nice pile just begging you to jump in. Or push your friend. Or maybe someone's dog or cat is hiding in one and is ready to jump out and scare the crap out of you. Only one way to find out.
But it's only so many days until Halloween - Oh. You're one of those. The ones that love Halloween and start setting things up as soon as there's a slight briskness to the air. Well, time to go shopping. Or maybe you need to start setting up the decorations in the window. Or the yard. Or buying candy to appease the inevitable hordes. Halloween comes but once a year, so get ready for it while you can.
Wildcard - There are plenty of autumn activities to do. Make some up on your own, be it strolling with a friend or curling up with someone special and enjoying something sweet
Grant Ward: Marvel's Agents of Shield

Said red appears in her cheeks when she's sure she's spotted someone frighteningly familiar. Once upon the time, she would've shrunk away, called for May, or anyone really, but now.]
I meant it.
[Subtle? No, considering she's shouted it.]
I'm guessing wildcard?
Now Simmons... I...
[Finally, he had escaped his brother. He knew he wasn't welcome with Coulson and his team, but he wasn't going back to his brother either. He'd rather die first.]
Don't shoot. I... I'll leave.
Re: I'm guessing wildcard?
I didn't say I'd shoot you. I said I'd kill you. Shooting means you can recover.
[Fitz can't recover, so why should Ward?]

You don't understand what I was going through at the time. I can't begin to put into words what a predicament I was in. You wouldn't believe me, so... So it's best I just go.
no subject
[He may back away, but she's taking a step forward (okay, two steps as he's a lot larger than her) to keep equidistant.
And you can't go. I haven't killed you yet!
no subject
[He took another step back. He knew he shouldn't be afraid of Simmons, but seeing that look in her eyes, he was.]
Funny, I don't really want to die tonight. Then it will be twice I've escaped someone trying to kill me.
no subject
{She's already reaching in her pocket for something, not that she's subtle about it, because this is Simmons. Such a thing isn't possible.]
Did you see what you did to him? Do not walk away from me!
[Really, Simmons?]
no subject
[He shakes his head and turns, running until he's ducking behind a large tree, running into the woods. He hopes that the autumn leaves and the forest can hide him from Simmons, at least for now. He's not walking away now, he's running.]
no subject
[Oh great, he's running, and while she's taken up running while with HYDRA, for the obvious reasons, she's not half as quick as him. She's also not half as quiet, as the leaves crunch loudly underfoot.]
I've already called May!
[It's the most effective threat she can come up with, and it's true, though more sent and alert, than call.]
no subject
He sighed, covering his mouth and crouching down low enough that he hoped he couldn't be seen. The minute she ran past him, he would double back. She doesn't get it, doesn't understand the pain he was in. He had come in with a mission, before meeting people who actually cared about him. It was a foreign feeling to him.]
no subject
She stops about four metres away from him, but she's not got years of stealth training.]
Do you know why trees shed their leaves? It's a way to protect itself, it doesn't have enough energy to keep the leaf, so the chlorophyll breaks down, and the leaves fall off, but it always leaves a scar. Did you know that? It's like what happens to the body without oxygen!
[She's babbling, trying to make him respond. She doesn't want May to get there and Ward to have vanished.]
no subject
He takes a deep breath, slowly exhaling out of his nose, not his mouth, trying to remain quiet. He listens to her, smiling in spite of himself. Fitz and Simmons were so smart, smarter than anyone he'd ever known. He'd been impressed by their genius, amazed by it. Even now, when she's trying to get him to talk, he can't help but be intrigued by the amount of information that she knows. Not that he'll answer her.
He needed to get out of there. He didn't want to stay, to try to convince her again of his reasons. Reasons she wouldn't listen to or ever believe. Reaching down, he grabbed a rock and threw it, far off to the left so that she might think he was making noise over there. After a few minutes, he calls out to her.]
Do you know what happens to a body when a bullet goes through it? When someone forces your hand? Sometimes, you have to do what you think you need to do to save everyone.
[He slowly rises to his feet and moves to the right, the opposite direction of the rock he threw.]
no subject
That's all Simmons sees.
Being terrible at this, she addresses what she says next in the direction of the rock.]
To save everyone? You nearly had us all killed? What about Koenig? Didn't he matter, or was he no longer useful to you like Fitz?
[This would likely look braver and more confident, if she was looking in the right direction.]

So, he followed her. And he knew she was going to be pissed off about it, but the mission had to come first. Following her into the cafe, he smiled as he leaned over her shoulder. "Fancy meeting you here. Can I buy you a cup of coffee?"
no subject
It takes a lot for her not to nearly jump out of her skin. The fact that Ward had found her was interesting as well. Not that she thought he wouldn't. "No, but you can buy me a cup of hot chocolate. In the mood for it rather than coffee."
Oh, she wasn't happy that he was there or had followed her, "What're you doing here, Ward?"
no subject
Yes, he could tell she was really unhappy with him. He wouldn't let that deter him. "Looking for a good, hot drink. Is that so wrong?" And, following her as well. "If you want me to leave...?"
no subject
She knew that he was there for another reason all together and she honestly didn't like it. What in the hell was he going on about? Other than hot chocolate. She shakes her head, "You can stay but we're not talking about work." It was really all that simple.

To be honest, she wanted to deck Ward but it would make a scene. Something that, in that moment, she didn't really want. So instead she orders a bagel and a nice hot cup of hot chocolate. Then she turns to Ward, eyes narrowed. "So did he send you or are you doing this of your own accord?"
no subject
He'd ended up taking a walk, by himself for once, bundled up in a jacket as he wandered through the small wooded path that lay not far from where their base had been established this time around. Mack knew where he was, as did Simmons, and he had a small comm device tucked into his hand just in case something happened.
But right now? Right now was good.
