It's that damn plurk meme. Sort of.

This is the Sleeping Meme. Plain and simple, your character is sleeping with another one. While sharing a bed and sleeping together with someone is very intimate, smut is not necessary.
 

What do:
1) Post with your character. Name and canon go in the subject line.
2) Include your preferences.
3) Tag around.
4) If you tag, pick a letter from A-H according to the diagram above. Ta-da. That's the position the characters are sleeping in.
5) That's it.

She snorts, even if his tone makes her flush slightly; it's not as if she actually thought they'd let Peter get hurt and then act as if nothing was wrong, she just... has to ask. Like triple-checking the answers you already know you wrote down correctly.

"I know you wouldn't leave him behind, I just..." Her hands clench and unclench uncomfortably. "I have to ask."

[pronged]

"I'm insulted you have to ask. I should dump you right now, Lupin. It'd serve you right."

Because James would never, ever turn his back on one of his friends. He might play jokes on them but he would never actually leave someone in the forest. He knows she knows that but still. He reaches for her hand and squeezes it lightly.

"But I won't, because I'm a masochist."

[marauds]

If ever there was a time for those sorts of jokes, this isn't it. She stiffens a little, uncomfortably.

"Yes, that's a very flattering description of our relationship, thank you."

[pronged]

He wouldn't be James if he had a proper sense of timing and an ability to hold back his jokes. Sometimes he thinks that Moony takes things too personally and she needs to toughen up and stop worrying so damn much.

"Come on. Don't get snippy with me. Your time of the month always makes you so sensitive."

And sometimes she finds that he has the delicate handling of an enraged bull.

"I can't imagine what would possibly make me so sensitive about my time of the month."

You know what they should do next. Invent a charm that whenever he wants to say something stupid or idiotic, his mouth will magically stop working. Or maybe he can suddenly start speaking in another language so no one will know how he's insulting them.

Or maybe he could steal a time tuner. How much fun would that be.

He sighs to himself. "You asked if I left Peter out to rot in the forest. What do you expect me to say?"

try convincing her of that.

[marauds]

Somewhat stiffly: "I asked if he was all right, not if you'd left him out to rot."

After all, wizards - particularly the ones raised in the magical community - have a tendency to brush off injuries that Muggles would consider serious because of their access to healing magic. A rat could easily get hurt getting stuck under something.

A rat could. Fine, he admits that. But the rat is actually a wizard who sometimes seems like he's not the brightest flame but he's alright. He's smart enough to get himself out of a log even if they were mean enough to leave him there.

"Same thing. He's in better shape than I am if you must know."

Well, that... doesn't honestly put her mind to rest in the slightest. "Did I - "

She cuts herself off, fairly sure that this conversation isn't going to end well. Because if the answer is yes, the wolf did hurt me, then she'll have to open up the this isn't safe, I can't let you do this anymore conversation. Which never ends well.

It doesn't matter what answer he gives her, she'll know the truth and he knows that. James doesn't try to lie to her at least, he squeezes her fingers again instead.

"Doesn't matter anymore. I'm a big boy. I'll live."

[marauds]

"And a masochist," she mutters. It would explain some things, come to think of it.

Merlin.

Pandora drops her head against his chest again and sighs. "I'm fairly certain you know what I ought to say now." Something along the lines of this needs to stop now.

[pronged]

"Definitely a masochist," James murmurs but he follows it up with pressing his mouth against her hair, a little smile playing at the corners too.

"Fairly certain you know I'm just going to ignore it anyway."

[marauds]

She sighs, this time with hint of a reluctant smile doing its best to sneak past her self-control. "I'm glad we had this talk about having a talk," she says, a touch dryly.

[pronged]

That's right, Pandora. Just smile at him and remember how adorable and funny and charming he is. It's just better that way.

"I knew what I was getting in to. And I'm not sorry nor do I regret any of it. You're worth a few bruises."

[marauds]

She sighs. "And if, some night, it's more than a few bruises?"

[pronged]

"Then it's a day that ends in a y and Sirius is around," James says, shrugging one shoulder up, the shoulder that she isn't laying on which also happens to be the bruised on and he can't hide the wince as well as he'd like to.

"You worry too much."

[marauds]

Pandora bites her lip - yes, James, she noticed that wince, she's looking right at him - and sighs again. "You worry too little. Between the both of us, maybe we'll balance out."

[pronged]

"Isn't that the point of being in a relationship? My strengths are your weaknesses? Now, I don't have any weaknesses but my less good things, well that's all you Moony."

[marauds]

She frowns for a moment. "I think I've just been insulted, but I can't quite work it out."

Maybe she needs some more sleep.

[pronged]

"Oh Moony," he says with a sweet sigh. "It's not your fault you're not on mine and Sirius's level."
