REVERSE BEAUTY & THE BEAST MEME

Though it remains a beloved fairy tale, Beauty and the Beast itself has perhaps become a tired trope. Its inspiration is far-reaching and you can find stories based on it in many corners of the fictional world. Though these tales vary, one facet is almost always the same: the beastly character always falls in love with the beauty, and the beauty has to learn about the beast's innermost good qualities. And why not? Could the beauty ever fall for the beast on looks alone? They're a beast!

...but what if the beauty fell in love with the beast because of the way they looked? What if the beauty was the one who had to worry about if they were good enough, or if they weren't the right type? And, most importantly, what if the beauty didn't want the beast to ever change?

HOW TO PLAY

Comment with your character, preferences (no smut, etc), whether they're beauty or beast, etc.
Reply to others.

PROMPTS

Meeting: Whether the meeting is against your will, as it is in the traditional tales, or you go out of your way to meet the "beast," it is what it is.
Falling: Maybe you expected this. Maybe you didn't. But you're falling for a beast - and it's not all for what they have inside.
Swooning: They're so beautiful! How unique, and you've grown so tired of the same old, same old.
Who is the Beauty: What if you are hardly beautiful in their eyes? If they're a different species, they might have an entirely different standard, or they may just think you're too normal.
Not What They Like: The above, realized. Sorry, they just can't be attracted to someone like you. You're actually the beastie in their eyes.
Confession: They may not be used to having affection directed towards them, so this may be a new experience for both of you.
Fluff: Kissing, hugging, dates, taking them out, touching them, mending wounds, personal hygiene help, and all of that.
Smut: The obligatory smut option, and any problems, inconveniences, or drama or lack thereof that come with it.
Rejection: Actually, they could never love you like that, so you're in for a heart break.
Defense from the Mob: You'll stand up for your beloved beast, in contrast to them going berserk should outsiders disapprove.
...I Liked You Better Before: Somehow, some way, the beastly half of the couple has changed and become more conventionally attractive, as is wont to happen in these sort of stories. Only problem? You aren't attracted to them now.

[She's from the Final Fantasy VII universe. Married the mad scientist and their son was basically responsible for almost destroying the worlds thanks to a traveling space virus that she let herself be injected with as an experiment. It kind of drove her insane and then kept her alive past her 'death'. She worked for the company in their world before her life went off .well even more off the rails.

First meeting would work. I don't mind AUing her into MCU!verse since Spiderman has always been a love of mine]

What kind of setting? Post movie Ock is likely to turn up anywhere from the back alleys and run down parts of a city to a high-tech science lab... although in case of the latter he is likely to enter violently to steal parts or something. Unless she seeks him out for nefarious science-doings.]

[One foot tall purple dragon alienoid so likely the beast, though you'll find that Lockheed is quite gentlemanly in a way, despite his occasional difficulties with Earthspeak. Not against him being the beauty though if you have the right idea. Happy with both basic shipping and smut if you wanted to go down that way.]

a. canon. she's pretty much a beauty, at least in the pretty and non-offensive anime woman way.
b. headcanon/AU, in which the "demonic" heritage she has is more than just a plot point and actually show up in her features. she has slightly blueish tinted skin, larger and unsettling eyes with slit pupils, pointed ears, sharp nails, and a fair amount of scarring. this is the closest anyone has come to capturing the idea but it's still not inhuman enough. it's a good reference, though. ANYWAY, this is the beastly option.
